You're Running for What?

The chief financial officer is the most powerful person in the state — next to the governor. He or she controls the state’s bankbook and shapes much of its policy. Job perks include a corner office in the Capitol and a bully pulpit with a statewide reach.

What was that job again?

"On the campaign trial we jokingly refer to it as the UFO,” or unidentified financial officer, said state Senate President Tom Lee, a Valrico Republican and CFO candidate.“Until you explain some of the job to people, they don’t quite understand,” Lee said.

He’s not the only one with the problem, nor is he the only candidate who spends as much time describing the job as he does his qualifications for it. Story here.

ummm, yeah I know. I read Sayfie. I already saw this story.

This story was pointless? Who is running the show at the SPT???

Just released: Gallagher updates perks of CFO job list to include "day trading", "perky interms on mercedes hoods" and "ethics commission violation rulings"

This is what happens when you allow anonymous comments:

You get stupid responses.

Here is what I want to know...

Will Tom Lee get to keep his Republican Party Credit card if elected to replace his mentor, Tommy G.?

Lee just successfully recommended to the cabinet to create ANOTHER government insurance company. When do these guys go home?

We cant afford another few months of that kind of leadership.

I thought we were beating up the demo's for suggesting a bigger government solution to the insurance crisis?

The big insurance companies have to be laughing out loud. They have successfully removed themselves from the Florida Hurricane risk market and replaced themselves with State Governemnt.

Who will take the blame when this bill comes due? Tom Lee oughta be ashamed.

Jeb, Gallagher, Crist and Lee all swallowed the kool aid on this one.

The things we do to win an election!

The repubs continue to give away the store in hopes of getting reelected.

They are even smacking around the only candidate that has a prayer in the CFO general election.

Alex Sink never looked so good. She will hammer Lee in the big race.
