Crist severs ties with Dozier
Given that the Rev. O'Neal Dozier had said Jesus told him Charlie Crist would be the next governor, maybe it was logical Crist this summer declined at bash the Broward minister for calling Islam a cult. Why would you want to tick off someone with a direct line to the Lord Jesus? Gov. Jeb Bush pulled Dozier from a judical nominating commission, but Crist declined to remove him from his campaign's family policy advisory committee.
But now that Dozier has taken to distributing comic books that depict Islam as a dangerous religion that Christians should fear and fight, Crist has decided enough is enough. He said Friday he has yanked Dozier from his campaign committee, calling the comics "insensitive to say the least.''

This is the right thing to do. Dozier has his own opinion about things and his opinion does not reflect either Jebs or Charlie's view. Dozier has said he dosen't speak for anyone else and don't want people to interpret that he is speaking for anyone else, so the best way to make sure that folks know you don't reflect any others opinion is to stay independent. You can't have it both ways, which confuses others.

how convenient he waited until after the primary to do that. the fact that he was associated with him for this long is disgusting.

So Crist believes that Islam is a cult, but thinks it's going too far to call it dangerous.
I don't know about the rest of Florida, but I think the first statement was going WAY too far. I want a governor who draws the line at decency and respect, not someone who is willing to tolerate such extremism and hate.

6:22 IMADASHELL you are a liar and are display poor character!!!!!, you go around spreading inendo suggesting Jeb and Charlie condone offensive comments made by any other!!. Isn't it Jim Davis that didn't show up to vote to condemn Hezbola, does that make Jim Davis a bigot against Jews!! because he didnt care to even show up to vote against a terrorist group attacking Isreal!!! and thats Jim Davis OWN actions, not the actions of others with free will that no one can control. You are an idiot!!

will someone please describe what a "cult" is for me?
Every religion is technically "a cult", some are just more widely accepted than others.
So Dozier doesn't accept Islam?
Do you think most Islamics accept Christianity?
Do you think Pagans are cultists?
Do you think Druids are cultists?
Christians sure co-opted plenty of the Pagan and Druid symbolism and holidays.
The early Christians must have thought the "cult" thing to be pretty cool.
I accept all religions as being valid to their believers.
But they're still all cults.

"The World Book Encyclopedia explains that "traditionally, the term cult referred to any form of worship or ritual observance." By that criterion, all religious organizations could be classified as cults."

When one religion regularly flys planes into buildings, blows themselves up in cafes, launches rockets onto civilians, calls the U.S. the "Great Satan" and chants "Death to America"
and whose primary book advocates the killing of all infidels - non beleivers
a healthy fear and regard for them is not unwarranted

Islam is a cult of those who lack any sort of rational thought. He speaks the truth but the left wing media wants us to love thy enemey and embrace those who seek to kill us. That is why we need to support President Bush.

Charles should have disassociated himself from this fellow mos ago.Your leader Jeb Bush has EMBRACED him for years ..Therefore we agree that at least Charles woke up before the election .Kudos to himit shows Character .it does not excuse his icom.
aS MUCH AS I believe radical islam is fascism..we must not Ever sterotype any religious group,, there are radical elements in every faith and we must judge some individuals by their actions..There is a group of Baptists to convert those of the Jewish faith or believe that the end of da world is going to happen in Tel Aviv on thursday when da Jews accept their God.. does that mean all Baptists are evil??Good Yom Tov boys.

George and Charlie:
what took you guys so long?
Posted by: terminator | September 23, 2006 at 11:37 AM
Why does Charlie hate Florida?
Posted by: | September 23, 2006 at 06:07 PM
Why does Davis never show up to work. He owes Floridians a refund for paying a salary for doing nothing.
Posted by: | September 23, 2006 at 06:25 PM
Dozier is a self-important bigot. But he was useful to Crist and, despite this weekend, will be useful to Crist again, if we elect him. Let's NOT make that mistake.
