Milligan endorses Sink | Main | Harris and McBride »

Randy Johnson, Then and Now

A little while ago when they were both running for CFO, Randy Johnson said Tom Lee was in the insurance industry's "pocket" (Orlando Sentinel, 9/3). A few weeks before that, Johnson said the insurance industry and its lobbyists "have gotten everything they've asked for" from a Legislature led, in part, by Lee (St. Pete Times, July 22).

But that was then. This is now: "Tom Lee is a principled leader, a man of conviction, and the best man for the job" of CFO.

Johnson was absent from the Republicans' "unity tour" today, but he timed his endorsement of Lee so it coincided with the GOP fly-around and attempts to match former Republican Comptroller Bob Milligan's endorsement of Alex Sink, the Democratis candidate for chief financial officer.

And that, my friends, is why the Republicans will win again.

Let's see.... Bob Milligan, a respected, even keeled, military hero or Randy Johnson, a far right whack job who just got his clock cleaned in a Republican Primary. My money says the Milligan endorsement goes a lot further.

Each endorsement serves a unique purpose. I bet Republicans win, however, because they RALLY behind newly-chosen candidates regardless of personal preference in the primary.

He endorsed Lee on Tuesday night, just did a formal statement as planned today, Milligan or no Milligan. The Times didnt report it, they were too busy trying to buddy up to George Lemeiux to be Crist Communications Director come January.

Extremly classy move on Johnson's part.

Johnson is a class act all the way.

Johnson for Lt Gov

I see RJ has more time now to read the blogs and post

the probablity of RJ becoming Lt Gov is about half as likely as his chances were for CFO

the probability of Lee beating Alex Sink for CFO is about half as likely as Johnson's chances were to win his primary. thank god johnson lost - now my girl can pummel him on being big insurance's bitch boy.
