41 + Jeb = $5,000 per person
Two Bushes are better than one when it comes to raising money for Charlie Crist's campaign for governor.
Former President George H.W. Bush and Gov. Jeb Bush will co-host a party fund-raiser next Thursday, Oct. 12, at the home of cardiologist Zachariah Zachariah in Sea Ranch Lakes, an oceanfront enclave just north of Fort Lauderdale.
The invitations are from Meredith O'Rourke-Cumber, finance director for Crist's campaign. The admission fee: $5,000 per person, $10,000 per couple.

Now what the hell kind of name is that? His mother didn't like him either. What is it with these damn Republicans and their hatred of children?

How much for a picture with Foley?

Meredith rocks!

A little background on the fundraising physician:
After the first President Bush headlined a fundraiser in Zachariah’s home for 200 people who gave $10,000 apiece to the Republican Party, Zachariah reportedly raised more money for Bush’s 1992 campaign than any other individual… In 1999 Zacharaiah became the only physician in Florida to receive a special exemption from a state tax to fund indigent care. “I really don’t know why he’s been the only doctor in the state able to get an exemption,” the director of the state chapter of the American College of Cardiology told the St. Petersburg Times in 2002. “Probably because of his connections.”

SLOWLY, put down the kool-aid..... slow.... there ya go. Now walk away.
Good job, now go find your nearest psychiatrist.

Well, at least Jeb doesn't hate his Dad. Does he?

And actually that's not the only event the Father-and-Son fundraising machine will be doing that day. Note to SPT reporters: check around. Try central Florida. You'll find it. Just keep looking!

Wasn't Zachiariah a big Tom Gallagher supporter?
Of course he hedged his bets by letting Charlie jet around on his private plane (you know the one that blew an engine just before the primary and gave Crist and crew quite a scare).
Guess he's trying to buy his way back into CC's graces.
Hey Zac, I'm a big TG supporter. Can you lend me 5K so I can attend too?
Posted by: terminator | October 06, 2006 at 06:01 PM
HOLD ON TERMIE, MAYBE SOME PEOPLE ARE DOIN WHAT THEY GOTTA DO AT THIS POINT, AND JUST MAYBE THEY WILL BE SHOCK AND AWE, DOWN THE ROAD HERE.. WHAT DA YA THINK?

Of course those with money and influence will continue to "buy" their way into the inner circle.
Those who stand for principle will judge candidates based solely on their record not by how much money one can deliver.
One would think a smart guy like Charlie would recognize those who were with him and those who were against him. At least I'm unabashed about not kissing up after TG's defeat.
I don't have anything against Charlie at this point. I'm just not real enthusiastic as my sun doesn't rise or fall with the R's or the D's or their candidates. That's the nice thing about being financially independent.
Fortunately for me, I've got plenty of eggs in different baskets. If Charlie wants to reach out to the teacher's union then I'm game but haven't heard anything from him yet.
Don't even talk to me about shock and awe. Our (TG Campaign) shock and awe never materialized. Still wondering what in the hell happened!
Can you say "Sietzkreig"?
Posted by: terminator | October 06, 2006 at 07:33 PM
what that last sentence mean termie? not sure... just asking?
Posted by: | October 06, 2006 at 07:44 PM
loosely translated to "phony war".
How the Germans failed to advance on the western front after months of "rumblings" of an immenent attack.
that's kind of how I felt when we were being told on a weekly basis just wait, the big one's coming.
obviously, it never happened and we went down to a humiliating defeat with a superior candidate.
signed "shellshocked" in South Florida

i get it brother, enough said, and if u really knew, you would be shocked and awed how about that....Luv ya, hang in there, !
Posted by: | October 06, 2006 at 08:19 PM
well not sure about what you mean (I'd love to know).
I'm hopelessly a mushroom at this point on the CC thing.
I've given up trying to figure out. As I've said "Charlie's an enigma wrapped up in a riddle" but he sure seems to have fooled just about everyone.
keep on truckin my friend, there's a war to be fought on many different fronts, my battlefield happens to have shifted to other endeavors

Like we said all along, Termi, the "Truth will Out" on Crist AFTER the primary just like it did for Foley in 2003. Only this time voters are paying attention.
This Foley mess is a perfect crescendo for the Crist expose climax by the Democrat media. Someone in the media will have the courage and ethics to do it although it goes against their grain.
Posted by: 1catalyst | October 07, 2006 at 12:28 AM
Charlie Crist- another closet case gay hiding under the GOP banner of "family values" will be OUTED. Why won't he answer questions about him and Foley being roomates?????
Posted by: gary | October 07, 2006 at 07:46 AM
Termie:
Remember in early August, about a month prior to the primary election, when our discussions centered on (1) the accuracy of polls showing Crist with a double digit lead (2) whether the voters were paying attention to Crist's unopposed media campaign (3) TG's win the debate then go hard late strategy (4) Crist vs. TG's GOTV and (5) the effect of Crist's overwhelming money advantage.
Well, it just goes to show that the more things change, the more they remain the same. Now, it is early October, about a month prior to the general election, and the Davis supporters are advancing the same arguments that you once expressed.
Oh, yes, I forgot. The Dems are even reprising the same tired "gay' allegations, which actually surprises me, since it is so hypocitical.
After all, the Dems are the party that embraced gay rights in their national platform etc,
Posted by: zenator | October 07, 2006 at 08:10 AM
Zenator,
Well as you know, while democrats preach tolerance, inclusion, they really only mean, tolerance and inclusion for their own party members.
Yea they "say" they keep hounding on Crist b/c he must be gay and is hiding it. (which he is not gay, i have said I have an immediate co-worker who could produce 2 women to verify that)
They will just scream bigotry to republicans all day long, and at the same time practice bigotry and discrimination to the groups and people that are a part of the republican party.
Posted by: | October 07, 2006 at 09:03 AM
Charlie's lies don't matter to me personally, however when his lies threaten the SECURITY of my family - damn right I'll be in his face.
If we've not learned the lessons of chronism and lying from this national administration - what will it take? Foley's secret stayed a known secret for his whole political career and that enabled him to FEED ON OUR CHILDREN.

politics seems to be a form of welfare for that nasty bush clan. why can't we export poppy, babs, chimpy and the rest of that crooked bush bunch to saudi arabia?
Posted by: | October 07, 2006 at 11:27 AM
will charlie crist become florida's first gay governor?
Posted by: | October 07, 2006 at 11:28 AM
Zenator:
there's no doubt you were right and I was wrong.
I knew I was wrong but I guess like the old ball coach in me, we have to put on that false front and tell the team "yeah, we can play with these guys, just hang tough"
And I was truly expecting some huge revelation. We were being told weekly, it's coming just hold on one more week.
Obviously, that never happened.
Although, I feel Gallagher is superior to Charlie Crist as far as Gov material, he had too many ethical lapses that were exposed from start to finish and our campaign just never gained traction.
Getting spanked in Miami-Dade (Tom's home turf) was a huge surprise to me.
I really like Brett Doster but his George W Bush "win the right wingers with the micro-targeting cmapaign" was the wrong game plan for this election since the political winds changed so dramatically. Oh well, 20-20 hindsight.
You know what they say about blind loyalty?
Luckily for me, I've got lots of projects to keep me busy but I don't entertain any more ambitions about working in the Gov's office.

9:03 You keep boasting about being able to produce two women who can prove that Charlie is not gay--but you have not done so. Do you think having sex with two women in 30 years proves anything? Maybe Charlie is just asexual.
Posted by: | October 07, 2006 at 01:17 PM
Termie:
I agree with your analysis with one add on. Politics, like war, usually comes down to a numbers game, except in politics the medium is money as opposed to munitions.
Crist's advantage over TG was in the $4-5mm range. His advantage over Davis will be in the $15-20mm range, Crist literally has the ability to spend $500,000 to $1,000,000 per day from now to the primary. Now, we are talking shock and awe...
9:03
I am fall into live and let live camp when it comes to sexual relations between consenting adults. the hypocrisy here is self-evident and frankly stupid.
By some estimates, there are as many as 700,000 gay voters, who typically vote democratic and contribute large dollars to the Dems. It is beyond me why the Dems want to engage in gay bashing and thereby suppress their own base. But as suggested by GOPGator earlier, when you opponent is trying to dig a hole, hand him a shovel.
Posted by: zenator | October 07, 2006 at 01:57 PM
Zenator
I think the whispering campaign still going on about Charlie being gay is more about hypocrisy than the fact that Charlie is gay / bi or not.
Termie, for every woman you can produce who says Charlie is straight, I'm guessing somebody MIGHT be able to provide women who suggest otherwise. Actually, I'm more than guessing.
I know how you Rs love money. Well, I know we don't have many, but if having the most money was the ONLY determinant, no Dem anywhre in Florida would EVER get elected.
It just could be that Florida is ready for the change that Jim Davis represents. And for us, it is not about having the most money, but having ENOUGH money. Whether we will have enough money remains to be seen. I know we have the issues on our side. Maybe that will be enough.
We'll see.

That is not even remotely needed, bringing 2 women out to show he is straight (or at least bi). HOw about his current hot girlfriend?
Additionally, only you far left wackjobs are the bigoted ones calling for him to come out, and that is not important what you nutjobs think. SO no women need to come forward.
Just b/c he is single, does not mean he is gay. I really dont know why people constantly think that. I could have easily chosen to be single. It is much simpler and easier to be that way.
Oh yea, and just b/c a few people say they think he is gay, or a few rumors are floating around, does not make it true. Every single teacher I had in high school had rumors of their sexuality, which all were wrong.
I know you liberals are bleeding votes day in day out over to Crist, and you are getting truly desperate, but give it up. Charlie will be governor and republicans will control the florida house and senate. Dems once again in FL are a miniscule party at best.

There is a MYTH that Democrats don't have money, that is false. Old money and many of the weathiest in America are Democrats. The difference, this old money stays among the Democat "elites" they dont spend it on anyone not part of the elite and they definitely dont spend it on thier non elite "minority" base. This hypocrisy is obvious as every election cycle you hear of a feud where black democrats complain they don't get dollars spent on their efforts, yet they vote 90% democratic. Lets hope the black community will start waking up and learning their America history to better understand why, the Democratic party is simply put, the party of Slavery in American history. Over and over again Black democrats experience a lack of investment, their vote is taken for granted, the message vote, just dont expect anything else, your simple not part of the elite. So how much longer will it take for Black Democrats to start learning this.
Posted by: | October 07, 2006 at 07:09 PM
Man, you liberal far left anything republican hating wackjobs need to give it up. Charlie is not gay, and he WILL BE OUR NEXT GOVERNOR.
Got it you bunch of f&%#ing crazy socialist lunatics. Now get prepared for another 4 years of DOMINATING Republican rule in the state of Florida.
Posted by: | October 08, 2006 at 12:37 PM
Quit with the wackjob liberal talking points. You have nothing factual against Crist, he is up 12-15 points, and this is all you are leaning on b/c the national democratic party has given up on Davis.
So why dont you save your breath (typing) and sit back and watch GOVERNOR CRIST lead our great state forward like he will do so well.

I wanted to join the party today in Ft. Lauderdale - this is what I needed to do:
"Please send me the two names on the tickets you are requesting. Will you be bringing your checks with you? Please let me know asap. Thanks so much!"
