Cabinet Meeting Back On
To those in Buzz land crushed that the Florida Cabinet had only two more meetings in its current incarnation (and we know you are few), rejoice! An embarassing "miscommunication" between the governor's and the attorney general's office has been resolved and the Oct. 31 meeting is back on.
Backstory: Gov. Jeb Bush on Tuesday told reporters he had cancelled the meeting, one of the last three before a new Cabinet takes office, because Attorney General Charlie Crist wanted to stay on the campaign trail before Nov. 7 election. But as Bush spoke to Buzz and other reporters, Crist was talking nearby to one from the Palm Beach Post, which Wednesday quoted Crist saying he had "no idea" why the meeting was cancelled by the governor.
Wednesday afternoon, Bush said the meeting was back on. "We did it in the primary, if you recall, and then I read in the paper that in fact that request didn't come in, there was a miscommunication. So heck, let's have it."

So, if it was cancelled because there was nothing important to discuss, what are they going to do at this meeting? Scrath each other's backs and have a few apple martinis?

"So heck, let's have it"
That makes it sound like he is talking about not calling a baseball game on account of rain.
This is a Cabinet meeting....supposedly pretty darn important. So heck, let's do our jobs.

OH WAIT! There’s more money to give out to museums. Then there’s that whole insurance thing these hacks are bitching about.
We need more illegal (errr…. guest) workers around here.

Sounds like a basic miscommunication to me. It isn't out of the ordinary for a cabinet meeting to be rescheduled, and with the floating agenda schedule, easy for them to crank out all the business at the following meeting.
Shoot, cabinet meets regularly to oversee 10 different state agencies every two weeks and their decisions affect all Floridians lives. I wish the legislature could be as capable and efficient....

Thank you Jeb... how's Babs?

What this actually reflects is a lack of communication between Charlie and Jeb. The Cabinet meeting isn't the only issue where the two aren't talking. I'm sure Jeb was as shocked as everyone when Charlie reversed field and called for restoration of civil rights to convicted felons.
I guess this is all part of being a lame duck governor. However, Jeb has a 66% approval rating. Charlie is starting to think he can actually fill Jeb's shoes. Most Republicans would agree that's not possible.

"Crist saying he had "no idea"".
Charlie, we already knew that.

Charlie Crist can't fill his own shoes, and I know this about the cabinet mtg. but I have to say... When Swaying Charlie, said Davis was his congressman, how sad and lame for Crist...showed a couple of things,
1. He didn't vote to often or he would know who was in office in his neck of the woods.
2. Even if he did vote?????, he is not smart enough to remember who's in, in the neighborhood so to speak.
TYPICAL CHARLIE CRIST... Sad
