Convergys: The issue that keeps on giving for Campbell
State Sen. Walter "Skip" Campbell, D-Tamarac, was riding the problem-riddled Convergys and privatization train long before he officially jumped into the attorney general's race. But he's still enjoying the ride.
Campbell called a press conference in Tallahassee Thursday with the two whistleblowers who finally confirmed Campbell's suspicions that a Convergys subcontractor was offshoring sensitive personnel data of state employees for data indexing. Among the new tidbits from the case brought by the two Colorado women: That the subcontractor, GDX, actually sent hard drives of employee data over to India and that one of those drives is now missing; and that among the workers doing the indexing at GDX's office were ex-convicts who were still being monitored by ankle bracelets.
Campbell also used the event to unveil a new campaign ad directly attacking opponent Republican Bill McCollum as anti-whistleblower.
The 30-second spot, which the campaign won't yet divulge where it will run focuses on the congressman's 1986 bill to exempt part of the healthcare industry from enforcement of the false claims act.

is this another example of republican managerial competence? just what will these republicans NOT send out of this country?

More Florida Baptist crap from Harris
HARRIS GOING TO HEAVEN
Some day all of us have to give an account before God for what we have done. Are you certain in your own heart that when you come to that point of accounting that you'll spend eternity with God in Heaven? Yes.
HARRIS DISSES BLACKS AND OTHER MINORITY GROUPS
Do you support civil rights protections on the basis of sexual preference? No. Civil rights protections should be based upon individual rights not group rights.

katherine harris, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god. why do you spend so much on shoes and clothes and make-up? why can't the least of your brothers and sisters in christ benefit from your wealth? just how many high-priced homes do you and your swedish millionaire husband need to own? have you ever thought to help with a housing initiative for the poor and disabled in our society? look at how many are sleeping in parks at night while you spend so much money on yourself. is this true christianity?

HANG IN THERE KATHERINE, WE LOVE YOU! YOU'RE GOING TO WIN THIS, AND SEND THAT LIBERAL LIL' NELLIE PACKING. THANK GOD FOR CANDIDATES LIKE YOU, HONEY!
GO, GIRL, GO!

11:34 - absolutely! If he were AG and investigating something, would he share information he had gathered. If he would, we don't need him as our AG.

This is a very serious issue for state employees. How would all of you like to have your bank accounts, social security number and other personal information in the hands of ex-convicts? You wouldn't.
Campbell and Argenziano have been pushing for reform and investigations from Charlie Crist's office for the past two years.
Charlie should have done something, so don't attack Campbell for trying to bring to light the Republican incompetence.

1:39 - We live in a world economy. Of concern is lies to the state by a contractor - Convergys. Should they be punished, yes. Is state employee information in India - maybe - but most definately if they have bought a Dell computer.
Should state employees be responsible and monitor their credit? Yes. Oh yeah, guess what, the state required credit monitoring for state employees to be paid by Convergys.
Wasn't there "new information" according to Campbell's press release? Why did the whistleblowers choose to use a politician to provide this information? Why did they wait until 2 week before the election?
Would the AG's office share the details of an ongoing case? According to Campbell, he thinks the office should. Evidence we don't need Campbell in a statewide position.

Charlie Crist did nothing about Convergsys. He did not get involved in the case until the last minute when it became obvious that he had not done his job. At that point, A Leon County judge would not let him intevene because he waited so late.

Hey, someone ought to ask all those state workers about all the fraud they see on their accounts, thanks to the free credit monitoring. Might be interesting to see whether or not the percentage of fraudulent activity is higher/lower/equal-to the level of fraudulent activity in the overall populace.

Reminds me of the new black eye on the current administration....the DOC scandal continues post-Crosby with Prison Health Services being re-awarded a $70 million per year contract after they failed miserably on the first one. Stupid department, they also gave them an extra $60 million for screwing up!!!!!!!!!
Where is the AG on this one?
Posted by: | October 26, 2006 at 03:27 PM
I don't believe there are any confirmed cases of fraud as a result of off-shoring.
Plus that credit monitoring is great! Thanks Convergys. Experian may just get my future business. Everyone, state employee or not should monitor their credit closely.

Don't you know that state employees have a higher rate of identity fraud as we are not that bright???
We need unions and Democrats to tell us what to think or scare us into believing.

2:29 - how do you know? Just reiterating the Democrat rhetoric???

You are terribly misinformed. If the new DOC had given the correct numbers when he put the contract out to bid, then there would have been no need for health services to pull out. The new Sec didnt have the correct numbers and subsequently the company couldn't turn a profit. Basic economics.

Skip only had a press conference so he could bill his campaign for a trip to Clyde's.
Posted by: | October 26, 2006 at 03:52 PM
huh? wait? Skip "Grandstander" Campbell doing a press conference. NO WAY!
Posted by: | October 26, 2006 at 05:40 PM
The whistleblower Convergys issue is a plus for Campbell. The year before, he championed the end of jeb Bush's bills from the 1999-2001 with no competitive bidding and ended that. And he also has a telecom issue he will scream about our dealmaking with Bellsouth, our Ag Crist's office covering up for PSC Chair Lila jaber.
And the best part? if you did a record request, you would know I have been feeding he and Senator Klein for over three years..
Merry Christmas. I call this
Operation AC/DC. Crist will get chewed at from both ends...

This is but one example wherein claiming that privitization is cheaper is bullshit.
Another is having the Sheriff Offices handle child abuse/neglect investigations.

"Campbell just NEVER shuts up - great googly moogly I dont' think I can take 4 years of that blowhard - PLEASE Bill get on the stick and kick his ass!"
.......
And continue the cover-ups, incompetence, deal-making, et al.?
Hell no!
