Details on the Debates
Organizers of two statewide TV debates for governor and U.S. Senate have announced the names of the panelists. Both debates will be at 8 p.m. on successive nights (Oct. 23-24) on Florida's PBS stations from the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center at the campus of Nova Southeastern University in Davie.
The debate between U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and Rep. Katherine Harris will be moderated by Linda O'Bryon of the PBS "Nightly Business Report." Panelists will be Anthony Man of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel; Paige St. John of Gannett News Service's state capital bureau; and Cory Reiss of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and New York Times Regional Newspapers.
Ray Suarez of PBS' "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" will be the sole questioner for the debate for governor between Charlie Crist and Jim Davis on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Charlie will have roughly 3 weeks of tanning and should be fully prepared to answer no questions but look very good in doing so.

These debates will go down in history as some of the best/most watched in modern politics. I think TV Guide should list it as "Katherine's Meltdown" but it will be a comedy not a tragedy. Shakespeare couldn't write stuff as good as Harris' reality!

Hey Charlie here is your first question: " We understand that Rep. Foley was your roomate while you both served in the state legislature. You are campaigning on the idea that you will protect Florida's children and John Walsh has endorsed your campaign. What is your opinion on the recent Foley events?Do you plan on asking Mr Foley to step down from your campaign? And Do you plan on opening up an investigation to see if there was any more foul play?"

I am listening on talk radio to Brian Fasulo, and Foley was a close personal friend of his for years in FL, (not D.C.) and he is being honest saying he had no clue about Foley.
Nor does he buy the alcoholic story. He is railing Foley. He is giving a pretty good analysis, and is openminded.

I think I'm more worried about a future governor who befriends pedophiles than one who might have been involved in some shady financial deal (like politicians aren't *ever* involved in shady financial deals anyway...yawn...)

QUESTIONS FOR KATHERINE
KATHERINE HARRIS MISSED VOTES
2006 Defense Appropriations
http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2005&rollnumber=287
She also missed the Health and Human Services vote (Social Security, Medicare, etc)
http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2005&rollnumber=321
The Defense Base Closure and Realignment vote
http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2005&rollnumber=548
DOT, HUD and Treasury
http://clerk.house.gov/cgi-bin/vote.asp?year=2005&rollnumber=605
Harris blew off the vote which funded the IRS for FY 2006. The vote funds all of President Bush's programs to ensure greater tax compliance and receipts(read that as reducing the deficit) and implementation of rules with respct to Bush's tax reforms. Harris does not walk the walk.
Ironically this piece of legislation also funded her American Dream Down Payment Act. She brags about the speed of its passage, but doesn't bother to show up for its funding.

HARRIS FAILED TO VOTE ON IMPORTANT TAX RELIEF LEGISLATION HR 1779 (2004)
Harris missed the vote on the Guardsmen and Reservists Financial Relief Act. This act waived the additional 10% tax penalty for early IRA withdrawals for those serving to protect our nation from terror. The law also deals with ready reserve tax credits, wage differentials taxes, etc.
It also gave relief through penalty free IRA withdrawals for those who endured natural disasters (read that as Florida)

Max Linn is up in the polls...as Davis goes down..strange for someone who just won the primary..but needless to say MAX is moving up and should be in the debates....otherwise...its hopeless, and dull...two repubs!
And both Davis and Crist knew about Foley.

manaboutit,
Many politicians in FL knew foley very well, but that does not mean they knew about his personal life. Get over your far left conspiracy theory ideas. That is so far left blog of you. Crist did not know, just as Jeb did not know.
My co-worker used to work with 2 WOMEN Crist dated in the mid 1990's. He was not moral, he womanized, but he is far from gay.

Personally, I can't wait to see the Harris-Nelson debate. It will be a true Sat. Night Live sketch. Can't wait to see what she'll wear - I'm picking a power red St. Johns knit.

Harris will now start to freak out about having to be prepared for the debate and she will scream and cuss and then demand they hire "experts" to help prepare her. This will be a disaster for her staff.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2006/governor/fl/florida_governor_race-54.html
Latest Rasmussen poll (last one had Crist up 5 points)
Crist 54%
Davis 38%
Undecided 8%
This poll was taken after the Foley incident, and did not affect Crist as I predicted. Davis is all but finished. Read it and weep liberals.

if Nelson's people were smart they would challenge Harris to a daily debate. It would freak her out so bad she would lock-up.

Don't underestimate Katherine Harris in a debate. She is well spoken, articulate, intelligent and comes across well. I did not know this until I happen to hear her speak at more than one event and changed my mind on her ability to communicate. Say what you want, but don't form an opinion until you have heard her yourself What I read about her and what I heard were very different stories. So watch the debate and see for youselves!!

10:13am, you are nuttier than kooky katherine. She is terrible at debating. She hates it and avoids it at all costs.
