Harris Stuck in the Stands at Bush Event

Katherine Harris may be the only statewide Republican candidate to trek all the way to Pensacola Monday to see President George W. Bush. But that didn't get her much.

As she sat in the stands with her husband, Bush mentioned her from the stage and encouraged the crowd of 10,000 to also vote for the four other missing statewide candidates: Charlie Crist, Bill McCollum, Tom Lee and Charlie Bronson.

Who did make the stage with the President: A slew of local state lawmakers, Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Senator Mel Martinez, First Lady Laura Bush, RPOF Chairwoman Carol Jean Jordan, and U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller.

At a dinner this summer (June?) Tony had a belly dancer in a thong perform for the GOP high rollers in the party. Many of the attendees danced with her.

It was a party club event at a Greek Restaurant and there was a belly dancer dancing in the restaurant, but unless YOU pulled up her dress you wouldn't know she had a thong on.

It was a reception, not a dinner. It was on a Sunday I believe. Drinks were flowing. It was at an Italian restaurant. It was attended by folks who had given a significant amount of money to the Pinellas GOP. Candidates were there and Tony D. produced a belly dancer who struted her body (barely clothed) for 30 minutes, pulling men from the crowd to dance with her. THIS IS TRUE!

If this is true, it seems that Tony likes the barely clothed ladies and Gus does not.

The belly dancer was not just "dancing in the restaurant". The restaurant was closed to all but the Pinellas GOP. The dancer was hired by Tony to perform for the crowd. She did not just happen to be there.

I too remember. She strutted her stuff in a very sexual way as belly dancers do.

so nobody with a chance of winning tomorrow wants to be seen with the president.

I wonder what it is like to sit in an arena of 10,000, all of whom can see that you were treated like trailier trash by the WH? I wonder what it feels like. Can't be good. Kitty is right. This is the most humiliating experience she has ever been put through. I can think of none other than to be snubbed by the President of the US in front of 10,000 people. She blew an entire day and charter jet to go to Pensacola for absolutely nothing. She spoke in front of 10,000 people who were already going to vote for her.

Tomorrow's concession speech should be interesting particularly after she has been humiliated by W and tossed out by Florida voters.
