Crist pledged tougher sentences for child abuses: "Fear will only exist in the hearts of those who seek to harm us.

Other comments: "an educational system that is second to none."

"We will enhance Florida's families by promoting adoption.

"We can make this Florida's greatest century ever. In a few years when people think of high paying industries and jobs..colleges and universities... A safe place to live, they will think of Florida first.

"In this century, Florida will define the new standards...and we will begin tomorrow. Tonight, we celebrate!"

Crist also recalled his grandfather, the immigrant, "Because of you, his grandson has the opportunity to serve you as governor."

Time for all to set aside the rhetoric and move forward.

That's what people said about Bush, and look where that got us!

Crist= an insurance industry employee!

Florida's educational system is an absolute joke. Crist is full of it.

I sure hope Charlie takes me to the governor's mansion.

I thought Gallagher was the insurance industry employee, what with owning all that stock? From everything I've ever heard Crist say in Cabinet meetings (and yes, I do watch those), he hates insurance. Sure, you can say he took lots of campaign money from them, but you'll have to try really hard to find a group he DIDN'T take money from. Theoretically, if you're beholden to EVERYONE then you're not beholden to any ONE.
