Putnam wins leadership post
Rep. Adam Putnam has been elected chairman of the House Republican Conference, making the Bartow lawmaker No. 3 in the GOP leadership.
Putnam had served as chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, the "idea incubator" for the party.

AWESOME - Go Adam!!

Looks like appealing to white rednecks and criticizing a Republican African-American fits right into Trent Lott's scheme of things. Yikes, even liberal blogs see Putnam as part of a new Soutehrn Strategy.

"I don't care what the context of the remarks were. Saying that you need to appeal more to "white rednecks" while simultaneously deriding the only prominent African-American member of your caucus of the past three decades doesn't look good. But I bet Putnam would work well with Trent Lott if he achieves his leadership post."

Grace, read it for yourself. That's not what he said or how he said it. Go worry about Harry Reid's involvement with Jack Abramoff why don't ya ...

why isn't this young warhawk volunteering to serve in iraq? it's a disgrace that these young republican agitators for war excuse themselves from any sort of military service.

Because ours is a volunteer army, you tool. Quit repeating yourself, it is tediously dull.

Now ol' Adam can roll up his sleeves and really get to work. He's got to help ol' George totally destroy any chance the GOP will have of regaining power in the next decade, Yes friends, its AMNESTY TIME.
Adam owes Bush, and he owes his fellow Polk county growers the never ending supply of cheap servile labor they salivate for. Way too much money has already been put down to stop this baby. Don't blame Bush, he just can't help it. It seems he has this penchant for self destruction.
Adam is serving the desires of a dying industry at the expense of the National Security as well as the welfare of this Republic. His favorite saying has got to be "What Me Worry?"
He, simply put, is a disgrace and holds his oath of office in utter contempt.
It is apparent that these two, at least, don't get the ass whipping just handed out. No worries fellas, there is sure to be more where that one came from. Abandon core Conservative Principles and you will pay.
On the other hand, the dwindling number of growers and harvesters will get their fruit picked for a few cents less a box. It won’t cost us, the poor peon tax payers, that much more, right? This should give everyone the warm fuzzies.

How's the wireless service in Bazra?
If you keep asking everyone else why they're not there, it must be because you are there...Right?

"Congrats" Adam, for winning, starting Jan 4, the #3 position in the minority leadership in the soon-to-be Speaker Pelosi-led Democratic United States House.
While you are high on this celebration, Adam, call Congresswoman-elect Castor and congratule her on becoming the most powerful Congressional Rep in the Tampa Bay area
Go Dems!

Good to see you back Dave. Haven't heard much from you, Ron Mills, and Gene Smith since the Davis loss.

Adam "Putz"num is a pimple-headed punk. So are Ron and Gene for that matter.

Adam Putnam is a hard-working and extremely smart and tlented legislator. Whomever is criticizing his involvement in the FL Citrus Industry must have no brain. AG is a huge industry in FL, citrus being at the top of the list..... I thought Democrats fought for keping jobs, industry and ag here in the US? Or is that only for the groups that donate to your campaign?

Mod
You back from under that Rock again? Getting a little chilly under there? Need to come out into the sun like all the other reptiles?
I've been taking a well deserved break from you and your loonie pals, but I'm back now.
To the subject at hand though. Apparently the "white redneck votes" did not desert Congressman Opie this cycle. But then again, he had no serious opposition. I bet that won't be the case next cycle. Let's see how those "white redneck votes" like him when that remark gets played over and over again on a TV screen near you.
I can see a takeoff on the GEICO caveman ads, can't you?
Ray, how bout lunch sometime after Thanksgiving? Or maybe cocktails and dinner on me?

Moderate, I never went anywhere, I just had to take a bit of a breather after this years elections which I think took an emotional and physical toll on all of us.
While Davis and Gorham both lost, I cannot complain about 7 seats won in the Fla House, Alex Sink winning, Harris OUT of public office and a Democratic US House and Senate.
I look forward to soon helping re-elect Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio and then it'll be time to chose a favorite Democrat for 08 (see below)!
Go Gore 2008!
