Tampa Bay's No. 1 - and fed up
Tampa Bay TV watchers won't be surprised, or happy, about this: Nielsen Media Research on Thursday named Tampa Bay the country’s top market for TV political commercials. Los Angeles came in No. 2.
"That makes sense,'' Democratic pollster Dave Beattie said of Tampa Bay's volume of political ads. "You've got the highest spending congressional race in the country (Vern Buchanan v. Christine Jennings) and the highest spending state senate race (Republican Kim Berfield vs. Democrat Charlie Justice) in Florida, and you've got every statewide candidate battling for that market." Add in a bunch of open state House candidates, and it's like a tsunamu on our tubes.
"We've gone from being one of the biggest national test markets in the country to being the biggest political swing market in the country,'' Republican media consultant Adam Goodman of Tampa said Thurday, in the midst of producing a last round of ads for assorted candidates. "I think you're going to see more of this, not less of it, as we move into the '08 presidential cycle.''

They changed Harris' degree to an MPA. Good start toward the truth (at least it is no International Trade and Negotiation which was an outright lie.)
"After receiving a MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government"
Well, it ain't quite right yet. She received an MC-MPA "Mid-Career Masters of Public Administration". Her sheepskin does not say MPA, it says MC-MPA.

What about Gus Flintstone and his ads where he looks like he is standing in a sinkhole?
Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 05:36 PM
Wonder if they are seeing commercials about Jim Davis hurry last night to concoct and stage an EXCUSE. for missing voting in 2000. The plan, blame the SOE, then puppet a witness that is a Democrat, supporter and looks like aslso a contributor to his camapign.

Did Davis Miss One Important Vote?
Posted Nov 01, 2006 at 09:07 PM

this blog entry is a corrected version of an earlier entry that incorrectly suggested Jim Davis didn’t vote in the 2004 election:
Charlie Crist has been accusing Jim Davis of missing votes in Congress, and Davis has denied that he missed any where his vote would have made a difference.
But tonight, there are indications that Davis missed one vote important to Democrats—the 2000 presidential race.
In response to a question from the Tribune Wednesday night about his voting record, Davis, reached on his cell phone, didn’t answer, instead referring a reporter to his campaign press spokesman.
A few minutes later the campaign called reporters to inform them of a Davis campaign conference call to held at 9:30.
Voter records accessed by the Tribune Wednesday night indicated that Davis has voted regularly in elections except 2000.
We’ll update you as soon as the conference call is over.

If Goodman is in the midst of producing the final set of ads for his candidates, they should fire him. It is way too late for this and at this point all it does is force debt on campaigns and the candidates. When the hell are they going to run? On the weekend? Monday night? If it ain't on O'Reilly or Monday Night Football, it ain't worth running.
Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 05:38 PM
Now if they'd just run some entertaining/informative ads it might not be so damn hard to watch tv.
anyone catch Ned Lamont's ads - those are some great ads and we need his advertising folks here as the companies creating the ones shown here - THEY SUCK!
The damn Robin Leach thing about Ms. Busansky sucks, the one with Stephen Gorham's face sticking out of a sheeps head - GROSS, and those ones of candidates heads bobbing & popping up around the screen - GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK! 1st year ad majors can do better than that!
Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 05:40 PM
I'd like to see a Jim Davis empty chair add not voting in 2000.
Posted by: davisMiss2000Vote | November 02, 2006 at 05:43 PM
I would like to see an ad where Busansky puts Bilarakis over her news and spands the living sh*t out of him, while lecturing him on civics. Then she makes him go to the playground and stand while all the kids are say, "Hey Mamma's boy, you look like you are standing in a hole". Then the ad would close with a big sink hole forming around Gus with a picture of his insurance policy where he opted out of the sink hole rider.

First of all, I did not spend the most time with Katherine Harris. Ben McKay and Dan Berger get that award. Secondly, I don't kiss and tell so you'll have to read her book.
As for it being too late for TV ads, are you on crack? Maybe you should finish putting out your local democratic candidate for city commission yard signs and leave the big boy work to us professionals.

This is rich!!!!

Speaking of gay GOP'ers, how about that guy who works for Bronson with the hair plugs? He was caught having sex with a homo prostitute and smoking crack out of a coke can!!!
How do you smoke crack and get your job back? Well, first you have to be a Republican, it must have included crack cocaine, a prostitue of a different race, and then you kiss Commissioner Bronson's a** enough times he puts you in charge of AG LAW ENFORCEMENT!
Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 07:52 PM
Oh yeah, that's that faggot Mike Selario. He was Crawford's republican b*tch and got fired for the arrest for crack and the gay black prostitute. Bronson brought him back. Didn't know he was in charge of Ag Law.
He's the perfect GOP boy- has sex with gay hookers, smokes crack pipes, and has barbie doll hair implants. SWEET!

What's up with the GOP going gay?
Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 08:12 PM
Those Radical Gay Republicans are pretty smart. Ken Mehlman is the best. Tricks the Religious Right into voting Republican by making them think they can stop gay marriage and simultaneously recruits gays to run the Republican party.

This is the story that has the Crist campaign shaking in their boots. Tom Gallagher has given the video tape of Dee Dee Hall's sworn depostion where she details Charlie Crist's sexual relationship with Bruce Jordan to south Florida journalist Bob Norman (the first reporter to expose Mark Foley). Dee Dee Hall is a Katherine Harris travel aide, as was Bruce Jordan. Jay Vass, who is a pilot known for flying Florida Republican big wigs has also given a sworn deposition regarding the Charlie Crist-Bruce Jordan love affair. Tom Gallager hired a top Tallahassee detective and law firm to gather evidence that Crist was gay and was going to release it before the Sept 5 primary. But under enormous pressure from the Florida Republican Party, Gallagher decided not to release the evidence prior to Sept 5. But Tom has pondered things and decided that he can't in good conscience let the good people and his fellow evangelicals of Florida be duped into voting for a gay Charlie Crist. The St. Petersburg Times, Miami Herald, Orlando Sentinel, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and Florida Times-Union are all sitting on this story, until after the election. All concerned Conservative Republicans should think twice about voting for Crist. If you can't vote for a Democrat in Jim Davis, fine, vote for Independant Max Linn, or don't vote period in the Governor's race. We can not have another Jim McGreevey situation happen here in Florida.

Watch this video and click on the speaker icon at the bottom of the video window to hear Dee Dee Hall tell all. She seems very credible to me.

Today, Miami's Classic Rock station, Big 105.9 FM talked about the Charlie Crist-Bruce Jordan love saga for about 20 minutes during the morning drive time. Yesterday morning, Miami's NewsTalk 940 AM talked about the Charlie Crist-Bruce Jordan love saga for 35 minutes during the morning drive time. It's really disappointing that the major newspapers of this state are continuing to sit on this story. I thought a free press reporting the truth was supposed to be a main guardian of our democracy? You have chosen to keep a lid on this until after the election, because you fear it will "sway the results". Well if it does it does. Your job is to report the truth, not to keep quiet so not to "sway the results" of elections. C'mon SP Times, do your job. God bless you all.

Should we tell all the volunteers who are out walking precincts and holding signs for the candidates to go home because the big boy "professionals" have it under control? Way to rally the folks in the trenches who are going to make more of a difference than a tired formula commercial produced to get one last bite of the apple. But I'm sure if the candidate wins the "big boys" will take credit and if the candidate loses, those same "professionals" will blame the ground game.

Posted by: | November 02, 2006 at 11:44 PM
I'm deeply disturbed about Crist trying to trick the voters of Florida. i voted for Charlie in the primary and i'm now deeply regretting it. I won't be voting for him now. I haven't voted for a Democrat Gov. candidate since Chiles back in 1990. It's not about Crist being gay, it's about him not being honest with the people. Does he think were stupid? apparently.

Video Debuts On the Radio
Audiotape from the Dee Dee Hall video about Charlie Crist debuted on the Paul and Young Ron Show on 105.9 FM this morning. After it played, Paul Castronovo, who is all over the place these days (including Channel 10), said after it played, “This is intense.” My segment — which was interrrupted momentarily by an interview with John Leguizamo — was pretty, um, hectic, as Paul likes to say. I would say their listenership skews Republican and just about every caller was like, “Who cares if he’s gay?” Then we’d tussle. It was a good time.
A few FAQ:
Q: Why is this coming out just days before the election?
A: Because that is when I acquired the information, the first bit of which came to me a few weeks ago from a Fort Lauderdale man with no known political ties who heard a first-hand account from a GOP staffer named Jason Wetherington at an intimate Fort Lauderdale dinner party. Then a close friend of Wetherington’s called me and confirmed that Wetherington has been talking extensively of the alleged relationship. Both men, who are gay, said they were chiefly motivated by the Foley scandal to come forward.
Q: Is this an October surprise from the Democrats?
A: Hell no. The new information and sworn statement was actually unearthed by people linked to the campaign of Crist’s challenger in the GOP primary, Tom Gallagher. The Davis campaign is steering clear of the controversy.
Q: Who is Bruce Carlton Jordan, anyway?
A: Jordan is a long-time friend of Republican Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris who she hired as her personal travel aide shortly after he was released from prison (the campaign denies that she was aware of his previous conviction on theft and forgery charges). Jordan, 42, has long-standing ties to Tallahassee, where he served for several years as executive director for the Florida Funeral Home Directors Association. He is also, according to several sources (and reported by the Miami Herald), a known friend of Charlie Crist, who denies remember having met him despite the fact that Jordan convinced Crist to address a state funeral directors convention in Orlando in 2003 after Jeb Bush dropped out of the race. On the Harris campaign, where Jordan has been described as a veritable mother hen to Harris who was with her almost non-stop while she traveled, he told witnesses — one of whom is Dee Dee Hall — of what he said was an ongoing romantic relationship with Crist. Crist denies this ever happened with his press secretary dismissing it as a “false story from a convicted felon.”
Q: Is it fair to Charlie Crist to put this information out with no proof?
A: I’ll answer that with a question: Is it fair to voters to withhold evidence that Crist is lying about something so central to his being as his sexuality? Is if fair to keep them in the dark about an issue that could lead to a mammoth scandal if Crist is outed while he’s in the governor’s mansion?
Posted by: | November 03, 2006 at 06:08 AM
Don't forget, Bob Norman was the first journalist to expose Mark Foley in 2004, and after Norman exposed Foley in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times, the major newspapers and media in Florida sat on the story for two years until things finally blew up recently in Washington D.C. That proves Bob Norman is the real deal, and it also proves that our Florida newspapers and news media lack the courage to expose in-the-closet gay Florida Republican politicians. Which is why they are sitting on the Crist is gay story, just like they did with the Foley story.

To the earlier post on Salario and Bronson:
Why won’t anybody touch this one?
How did mr. hair plugs get in charge of ag law anyway?
Look at the campaign contributions he
brought in the during Bronson’s last election and this one. They’re online and public record.
His bust with a prostitute and crack
made the papers and now he’s a top
cop for Bronson. That’s what money
buys you. That’s SWEET. And that’s the real story not his sexual perversions. So he’s a sicko and likes male crackwhores. So what.
Just don’t let him be in law enforcement. Bronson knows better He’s a cop too. I bet after the
election there’s a big promotion in Tallahassee for Mr. hair plugs.
Money talks huh. Watch this one. We will. Why doesn’t the Times run that story?

What a joke! Goodman gave the same condescending "leave it to the 'big boys'" spiel to me and others when we told him Harris couldn't win and he didn't need to be filling her head full of crap. We were made to feel like idiots and he was the genius. I can't remember a bigger error in judgement.
