In signing bill, Crist remembers 'Stan'
Gov. Charlie Crist will sign the property insurance bill during a 10 a.m. gathering Thursday outside the Capitol, then fly to two other areas for ceremonial signings.
He'll travel to North Palm Beach then the Port Charlotte home of Stanley Whitney, 78, one of the many Floridians to have written the governor about crushing property insurance. The letter, supersized on an easel, was featured in a Crist news conference last week.
"Remember Stan," Crist famously said, prodding the Legislature to not lose track of ordinary people in the final days of negotiations. "We've got to make sure we keep Stan in mind."

And the stunt master pulls off another one!

One day we can all sit around and remember Florida, before it was bankrupted by short sighted legislation and the next big hurricane.

why don't we just bring in pat robertson and jerry falwell to pray away those nasty hurricanes? while we're at it, let's get james dobson to get jesus to promise not to slam the state weatherwise.

Since our elected officials are willing to gamble the future of the state, why not make all forms of gambling legal in Florida?

ooh those whiney little insurance lobbyist are blogging again. Maybe the insurance industry will cut back on the number of lobbyist they hire. Thats how they could immediately increase their profits

Its funny that people keep saying the insurance lobby is upset. Read the bill. They aren't mad, it doesn't hurt them significantly at all. They only thing it will hurt is Florida's economy if a major storm hits. The people blogging against it are people who took a basic economics course before.

Charlie should put Stan on the Citizens Board if he loves him so much.

Those of you who are so upset at this bill can continue to ay the higher rates. Maybe we can put your money into some sort of mental health services fund.
