Hillary's FL crusader
Miami activist and Hillarynow founder Bob Kunst, who has criss-crossed the country touting Hillary Clinton for president, will be speaking Thursday night to the Greater Pinellas Democratic Club at Banquet Masters in Pinellas Park. A former Democratic candidate, Kunst has put hundreds of thousands of miles on his odometer trying to drum up a grass roots movement for Sen. Clinton, and he's also characteristically blunt about his disenchantment with what he sees as a cautious, middle-of-the-road campaign so far.
"I'm trying to get her to win and I don't think that the DC approach is helpful...I don't think she's the problem. I think the problem is the people behind her. The public wants not middle of the road, they want substance,'' said Kunst, who has never received a word of thanks from the Clinton team. "I really believe that she is the stongest Democrat and the only Democrat that's electable, but if she keeps moving in this losing direction and it looks fatal I really could be interested in Giuiliani."

Mr. Kunst's grassroots efforts are admirable; but diehard Beltway insiders like Hill & Bill and the rest of the DLC crowd will unluckily pay no attention to him. His efforts would be better served (and much more appreciated) on the Wes Clark or John Edwards campaign.
Hillary is a sell-out "dial-for-dollars" type candidate. Edwards and Clark are the "real deal" Democrats, and I'll happily give my dollars AND my volunteer time to either of them in both the primaries and (should either of them win) the general election.
Of course, if Hill wins the nom (ulgh!!!) I'll hold my nose and vote for her; but I can't get excited about a DLC triangulator who voted for the Iraq occupation and panders to the Religious Reich. Go Edwards/Clark 08!

I recollect that Mr. Kunst is a rather colorful and outspoken Gay Rights activist of long standing. Perhaps the Clintons don't feel that "diversity" this flaming is a good messenger for someone who already has a problem with Mainsream America. In act, he may be a plant for the Obama or Edwards folks...

Kunst was leader of a group called the "Oral Majority."
I doubt he will be invited to any of Clinton's events.
