Jennings still campaigning
Every couple of weeks, Christine Jennings flies from Florida and camps out in a room at the Democratic National Headquarters where members of Congress sit and make fundraising calls for hours at a time.
Jennings spends her time meeting with Democratic House members, attending her party's events, like a recent retreat for Democrats in Virginia, and, of course, calling her own contributors for donations.
As each day passes chances become more unlikely that her one-time rival, Republican Vern Buchanan, will be stripped of his U.S. House seat in favor of her.
But Jennings still talks as if she has a chance to win the 2006 Sarasota area congressional seat. And she does it with the same vigor she showed before Election Day when she lost by a few hundred votes. Full story

What a whack-job!

This woman should not be travelling, she should be in a padded room

Democratic National Headquarters\
Washington DC
Office workers here still report occasional sightings of "Christine," the resident Democratic National ghost.
Believed to be the deceased spirit of a candidate for a Florida congressional seat who lost by a razor-thin margin and then unsuccessfully disputed the results, "Christine" is reported to randomly dial telephone numbers, rearrange desks, tear curtains and turn waste baskets upside down in apparent poltergeist like temper tantrums.
Some workers here report icy cold fingers on the back of their necks and a ghostly voice whispering "I was cheated" in their ears.

Clint Curtis keeps trying to do his cheap imitation of Christine Jennings...trouble is he lost by 16 points!! LOL He was seen just last week skulking throught the halls of Washington Congressional offices begging Democrats to believe his tales of "election woe"....

Hey this woman got screwed in her election, and you all laugh about it. Sooner or later your republicans bloggers are going to get screwed in an election and then what are you going to do.
Posted by: | February 18, 2007 at 04:17 PM
Oh please. Give it up 4:17. I assume that every "uncounted vote" went to CJ? Doubt it. Give it up. Stop whining. I can tell you some stories of where some Republicans got screwed around the state. And believe it, it happened. No acting like a baby on this end. Drop it. It's Overrrrrr.

A Republican did get screwed in an election -- the gubernatorial race in Washington state. And there was no real crying about it.

Republicans lost all across the U.S...worst losses in decades but you don't hear them whining. Only Dems whine when they lose. They think that if they lose it had to be "fraud". It's the nature of the dems...blame someone else.

She lost her 2008 race the day she decided to make her 2006 post-election challenge into a legal fight.
I am sure the DCCC will blow a few million in dollars supporting her. My prediction: she'll get beaten in a blow out because voters don't like sore losers. No matter how it happened.
The Democrats best hope is to run a fresh face there.

Doesn't she find it embarassing?

I think she ruined her crediability for 2008 as well. If she bowed out gracefully, she could of ran in '08 and possibly won. To be honest Buchanan has been voting with the Democrat's a lot and isn't a bad Congressman. I think Jennings should move on.
I hope the DSCC doesn't bother with her in '08, they need to spend money to help Mahoney, he should be the top priority in Florida. They should also recruit a viable Democrat to run against Ric Keller.

It is the Republican men again showing their total disrespect for women. They do it to their own Republican women so don't feel bad. Many women are starting to take notice and they will remember come election time.

Everyone should read that new Date book on Jeb. Its eye opening. Wish the Sp times would post a sting on it to start a discussion. It would be very interesting to hear the many input.

yawn. I love the way this exact story pops up every week and everyone goes batty over it.

They are hoping to stretch it out until 2008.

Unfortunately for Ms. Jennings, her posture takes on an untenable almost quixotic appearance. I happen to think she does not have a meritless claim, but like a bad call that affects the outcome of a basketball game, it simply has to be accepted. You can see by these blogs the sort of ridicule she is opening herself up to. Why not fold your tent and come back in 08? The longer she persists in this shadow government act, which is more aptly decribed as poli-stalking, the less viable her chances will be in 08.

Thank God the Ds don't listen to you Hobson. If they did, they might present a credible political threat.
