FBI contacts Feeney in Abramoff inquiry

The FBI has asked U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney for information about his dealings with Jack Abramoff as part of its ongoing investigation into the lobbyist convicted of defrauding clients.

FBI agent Kevin Luebke refused to say whether Feeney, a Republican from the Orlando area, is under federal investigation.

Federal agents also have asked the St. Petersburg Times for an email sent to the newspaper by Feeney's office describing a golfing trip the congressman took with Abramoff to Scotland in 2003.

Check out our story here. More details in tomorrow's paper.

Mitt Romney campaign tied to corrupt Florida Congressman

Oh, dear, what a surprise. Another Republican under investigation.

go figure. maybe siplin should head the investigation. he's a dem

Feeney caught with his hand in the cookie jar?

Very interestin'

Golf with Jack Abramoff, Feeney should have known better. Could he end up leaving office. Wasn't there a Congressman from Ohio who plead guilty to this same kind of thing. What's his name? Isn't he in the big house now?

Ah, the Abramoff stench wafts thru the Central Florida air.

This will NOT end well for Feeney. Nibbled to death by a hundred stories between now and Election Day.

We'll see if he takes one for the team and steps aside.

I especially like how Feeney was such a big spender, with lobbyists' money, of course, picking up a $2,000 tab at the restaurant.

Tommy Boy is in trouble.

Losing Jason Roe makes this even worse. He was running the show over there.

Three congressmen go with him. One is in federal prison, the other was forced to resign despite being the Majority leader and Tom.

Tom is "voluntarily cooperating" with feds? Under what circumstance is that good news. They've already nailed Ney and Abramoff and Delay's been dealt all the blow he's going to handle. Now they've got the staffer. He's the only big trip mate left to skewer.

Feeney won't see this term out. If he is in office Christmas 2007 I will be surprised.

Maybe Roe knew that when he bolted to the Romney campaign.

11:04, why don't you share your name so we can hold you to your empty prediction?

it's always amazing to see another "christian" republican in an ethics snafu. republicans seem to be either lunatics or crooks.

Feeney is feeney-toh!!!

Romney's Florida Steering Committee includes Congressman Tom Feeney.
