Kicking boot in the House
Reps. Faye Culp and Adam Hasner won the annual "boot day" contest in the House. Culp is wearing white cowboy boots with tassels and shiny metal toes. Hasner's are more elaborate. The black boots sport an American Flag and his district number on the front,. The back has the outline of Florida covered by a red white and blue elephant. The boots were a birthday gift from his wife, Jillian.
Adding to the fun was House Speaker Marco Rubio, who called for Rep. Susan Bucher to stand in the front while Rep. Baxter Troutman cracked the ceremonial whip. Bucher, the dogged Democratic questioner, strode out and said she'd be happy participate - but by cracking the whip on Troutman.

Yes, there is plenty of time for boots and going away speeches (due to terming out, new appointments or running for other offices), but there is no time to fix KidCare, keep their promises regarding property taxes, really fix the problem of homeowner's insurance, PIP, or salary issues for state employees.
A sort of Marie Antoinette mentality - "let them eat cake"

Hasner is total cheese

I guess they need to let off some steam, but you'd think someone would realize how bad this looks when we're going to speical session.
