RPOF's Greer flexes muscle, sparks fight
It seems RPOF chairman Jim Greer is wasting little time in exercising his power over local parties and GOP clubs. The Florida Republican Women's Network - formerly the Fl Federation of Republican Women, which is much more fond of former chair Carole Jean Jordan than Greer - was told Friday that Greer is insisting all Network clubs must apply for permission to operate as Republican clubs and could be stripped of the right to use "Republican" in their title without permission from local party officials.
FRWN President Anne Voss and National RWN President Judith Alertelli said in an e-mail they will "stand on principle" and continue to use the name "Republican" while maintaining independence from the party structure. "Anyone threatening to silence us should understand that we will not acquiesce to intimidation or unfair treatment."
Is it just us, or are Florida Republicans starting to sound a lot like Florida Democrats?
NOTE: We amended this post to reflect that Greer was really enforcing existing statutes concerning use of the name "Republican," rather than using the new statutes as we initially said.

These people have marginalized themselves, ande now must pay for not following simple statutes and easy rules involving the use of the word "Republican." It is always a pity when groups become more enamored with screwing each other rather than work to get Republicans elected.
However you slice it, that is what we have here. And to those effusive in praise of Jim Greer, let's win a contested election before we elevate him to the papacy. I am pleased with his work so far, and he would agree with measuring by the electoral scoreboard rather than his umpiring of little league games.

is it just me, or is all of this insider GOP stuff really boring?
Not one thread deals with any of the pressing problems Florida and the nation confront. Surprising?

Count the new group out of that equation. Since rescuing the Florida Fedration last year, the FLORIDA NEW FEDERATION OF REPUBLICAN WOMEN have
- continued a Women's Federated movement in Florida;
- supported Governor Crist in his election;
- supported Chairman Greer in his work;
- started different initiatives aimed at voter registration and recapturing the U.S. House.

How nice to see "godly" republicans turn on each other with such venom.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 08:34 AM
The Republicans aren't turning on each other. They just seem to have one little group of thieves bent on behaving like Democrats.

Anyone who is wondering why Judith Albertelli is doing all this, here's another scam she's running. This went out by e-mail all over the State:
" Several of you saw the sparkly crystal pin depicting 54% and were inquiring about it. The 54% represents the percentage of women who voted in the last election.
The first 100 members to send in a check for $154 will become Founding Members of the National Republican Women's Network and will receive a pin with 54% in crystals.
If anyone wishes to join they can mail a check payable to:
$154 to NRWN
C/O Judith Albertelli
11651 Olde Mandarin Rd.
Jacksonville, FL 32223"

Greer is a nazi

Why did the title of this post change? Last night it was:
RPOF Generalissimo Greer flexes muscle, sparks fight"
Posted by: Mabel | May 28, 2007 at 09:34 AM
Greer want to be an old time party boss. He want everyone to have to come kiss his ring, whenever he runs.
He just does not get it. When statewide people run they have their own campaign and largly work outside of the party. He is doing more harm than good. He does not understand the system and is destined to hand florida back to the democrats all in the guise of feeding his ego.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 09:36 AM
The law that says you have to have permission to use the name of your Party has been around for a ggod long time.
The other stuff, about being able to remove people willi-nilly is new. HOWEVER, you don't see Greer coming down on anyone else, just Albertelli & friends. Wonder why?
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 09:42 AM
Well, goodness, given all this ya-ya among Republican ladies the Democrats show they are more concerned about the needs of the people of Florida and less concerned about who sells whom sparkly crystal pins.
Democrats care about raising the minimum wage and to Democrats the well-being of the people of Florida is more important than all these rich ladies fighting with Mr. Greer.
Posted by: Grace | May 28, 2007 at 09:45 AM
This is about Greer because he can not figure how to make the party work together. His goal is not to make sure we have these ladies as volunteers. His goal is to make sure that he is in charge and everyone knows it.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 09:54 AM
Republicans care about raising the minimum wage - we don't want to because you communists want to raise it so much it would put good, productive establishments out of business.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 09:56 AM
I think most ladies would rather volunteer for a group that cares about people and good government rather than sparkly crystal pins. Consider becoming Democrats where concern is for human rights and social justice and not sparkly crystal pins.
Posted by: Grace | May 28, 2007 at 09:57 AM
Who is going to run against Greer in 18 months???
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 09:58 AM
Grace - get off the sauce! Al Democrats care about is taxing people who work so they can create huge government bureaucracies with which they can:
1) give all their friends government jobs; and
2) support the underclass who does nothing for society - but voted Democrat.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM
What is saucy about wanting people to have equal opportunity? If you read the above set of comments you must agree that Mr. Greer and the GOP Ladies do not sound as if they care about anything but themselves and their status.
Posted by: Grace | May 28, 2007 at 10:06 AM
It IS NOT ABOUT GREER because everybody else is working together - just the Albertelli troublemakers. And they have been making trouble too long - time to take them out.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 10:08 AM
Some of you just dont get it. Greer is just following the RPOF rules, Chairman Greer has been very nice to both groups, But the FRWN has put Greer in a tough position. Most of the RPOF think he is doing a great job.Greer is now faced with a out of control group , who could care less about the Party rules . STAND FIRM MR GREER!!!
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 10:32 AM
Now I remember why I've never voted for Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite. She is tight with these kind of lunatics.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 10:42 AM
I am truly discourage by women who claim themselves Republican and charge like a bull with red white and blue horns to descredit their sisters. In a real family we sit down and talk about our differences instead of laundering them in public. One group only talks about MONEY, MONEY and MONEY. They claim 'she got it and by right it is
MINE, MINE, MINE!!! Seems like the other group is just trying to get the same recognition as the other....are they all Republicans...or have I missed something? Shame on you so called, ladies. Get a grip if you want your candidates to get control back Washington in '08. In other words....SHUT UP and VOTE!!
Posted by: Rita Acoba | May 28, 2007 at 10:56 AM
Albertelli and friends should account for the money. There should be an investigation of that. Otherwise, we all need to get back to striving for unity and an emphasis on the goals of Republicanism, or we are going to be in VERY sad shape come election day.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 11:04 AM
Is that Sharon Day the National Florida Committeewoman? She should immediately resign from that group and stand behind Greer if she wants to do her part in brining Florida together.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 11:18 AM
the repukes are showing their true misogynist tendencies with this issue.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 11:30 AM
Do these ladies care about amnesty for our undocumented fellow Floridians?
I hope they will be with Mr. Bush for amnesty and stop fighting about their names. Mr. Romney does not seem to want amnesty.
Posted by: Maria | May 28, 2007 at 11:32 AM
You go Maria, lets get to the real issues.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 11:41 AM
Why don't you Republicans outsource this issue to the Democrats and let them take care of business.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 11:48 AM
The Democrats taking care of business got us into VietNam. The Democrats taking care of business voted to go to was in Iraq and now refuse to fund the needs of our servicepeople. Democrats? Take care of business? Don't make me laugh!!
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 12:11 PM
A group needs the Party's permission to use the Party's name. That law has been around for a long time.
The Chairman could have squalched this whole nonsense when Albertelli and Voss first lost their Charter last year by simply sending them a letter telling them to stop using the name "Republican". But he didn't. Why? Because the Chairman at the time was Carol Jean Jordan who is one of them.
Why are we in this mess? Because of Carole Jean's non-leadership.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 12:16 PM
Those who gather more than one in the name of Republicans must be blessed by the almighty of all, Jim Greer
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Is Greer going to file a complaint with the FDLE against Albertelli, Voss, Clark, Livingston, etc. for misappropriation?
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 12:20 PM
The RNC no longer charters any organizations, thanks to McCain-Fiengold law. There are no longer any affiliated organizations of the RNC. The NFRW is no longer a voting member of the RNC. The NFRW is now a corporation, chartered in Virginia with no connection to the RNC. FNFRW is affiliated with the NFRW. The National Republican Women's Network, to my understanding, is incorporated in Delaware. The Florida Networkis affiliated with the NRWN. Both these organizations are on an equal basis as far as their national charters. Why is the RPOF asking one organization to locally charter and not the other? All Republican national organizations are now stand alone organizations.

12:11. O you loyal Bushies are ever ready to compromise truth at the behest of your betters. Are these the latest "talkers" from your master,Rove? You loyal Bushies don't let reality get in your way, do you? Keep it up, tho. It is illuminating to see you do as told..spread disinformation as Rove decree-est. No wonder you have these annoyed GOP gals. On second thought, they may be Monica Goodling's role models.
Posted by: Joe from Philly | May 28, 2007 at 12:26 PM
12:16 You are so right, Chairman Greer is doing what CJJ should have done, But that would have required her to be a leader! Greer does not run from things like this ,He provides Leadership. Lets All Stand with Greer!!!!!!
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 12:27 PM
Go Greer! He likes ladies with walkers who dance with the stars. Those other ladies..forgedabout it. We want Rudy. (I'm originally from upstate NY). I think the crowd from Jacksonville behind this mess are sort of stodgy. We need to follow our main fella.
Posted by: Mabel | May 28, 2007 at 12:32 PM
Jim boy, from one man to the other...let this continue. I love to see these up tight Republican women get down and dirty in a cat fight. Ahhh for the good ole days when we men could say to the little girls, sit in the corner, we have men business to discuss. Go get your knitting group together and make some home made pies for the poor.

11:18 AM
Sharon Day will never be loyal to Chairman Greer because he did not make her, remember Former Carol Jean Jordan tapped her for the National Committeewoman position. Sharon Day will always be loyal to Carol Jean Jordan and Chairman Greer needs to make sure that she does not run again. Sharon Day is just like Carol Jean Jordan and she needs to go, Chairman Greer you need to find someone else to run.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:04 PM
1:04 (Judith? anne?) That was a nice try. Sharon Day was not tapped by that fool Carole Jean. She had help in running for National Committeewoman from former Senate President Jim Scott, who is from her home base in Broward.
Carole Jean, she prbably supported Pat Bailey (an Albertelli crony, when she's sober) over Sharon Day.

I feel bad for any man married to one of these women. Or worse yet, has one of these women as a "real" ex-wife.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:08 PM
1:04 pm
And, what is masculine sounding? Swearing and having beard on my face OR, maybe you think you have apprehended a GAY? So now, you can put that knotch on your gun. Lighten up lady, I was just having fun.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:19 PM
1:07 PM (ANN, Judith)
YOU ARE SO WRONG . . .Sharon Day ran against Pat Bailey and Carol Jean was behind her and anointed her and campaigned for her. Some of us have been around for a long time and we can not be fooled.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:25 PM
1:08PM
does anyone know if Ann Voss is truly married to an officer in the military and if so what does he think about his wife's conduct, I hope he feels tat her conduct is unbecoming an officer's wife.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:28 PM
Lets see who wins this fight? The Chairman of the State Party, Who has the total backing of the Gov (some thing CJJ never had) Plus the law on his side and support of most RPOF members, or Albertelli and Voss who have done nothing but cause disruption and cant tell anyone where the money is!!! Please show this two who is Boss !
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:30 PM
You know who it seems like there are alot of people on this string from the RPOF who have jumped up in positions in the party and do not know the party history so now they need to find out what is going on, Jim should of hired people who had a better grasp of party history.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:31 PM
1:31 you should "of" paid more attention to your grammar.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:36 PM
12:23 do you mean Albertelli's organization is going to try to form competing state women's groups in other states as she has in Florida?
Has she done so yet? Where?
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:39 PM
CJJ thinks that Anne Voss is a total waste of oxygen, who could screw up a wet dream. Mention Anne Voss in front of her and her eye twitches with a nervous reaction, similar to Pavlov's Dog.
Posted by: GOP Activist | May 28, 2007 at 01:43 PM
1:30 pm - I don't think Charlie Crist needs to call in the National Guard just yet on this matter. RPOF should be able to sort it out on their own.
Posted by: | May 28, 2007 at 01:46 PM
She's as dependable as a broken watch--the broken watch is correct twice a day.
Anne Voss takes on titles like "county chair" for a campaign to pad her resume, as she bilks her clients for campaigns that she loses due to ineptitude.
Any success that happens for a campaign that she is on is solely due to the actual paid staff connected to the candidate and RPOF, not her.
