Tony Lake courting FL for Obama

Former Clinton National Security Adviser Anthony Lake spent a good chunk of this week criss-crossing Florida, raising money for Barack Obama. Lake tells us it's no knock on Hillary, his old boss' wife, but Obama has him as excited as he was for Jack Kennedy in 1960 and Bill Clinton in 1992. He met Obama in 2002, and brushes off questions about Obama's lack of foreign policy experience.

"It's not experience you want, it's judgement. Obama's judgement on the Iraq (opposing the war from the start) was was perfect,'' said Lake, who campaigned for Obama in Tampa, Sarasota, Palm Beach, and Miami. "We need someone looking outward, somebody who I believe almost overnight can change perceptions about the United States and help unify us within, which is very important in foreign policy."

Obama wasn't afraid to speak out against the Iraq invasion when it was still very unpopular to do so. He's the type of leader I trust to be an effective President who can make decisions based on principle and doing what's right. Go Obama '08!

because in 2002, a legislator from Illinois clearly had the national standing and information to make such a decision

In modern history(Carter-Bush 43)only Bush "41" had foreign policy experience having served as UN Ambassador, VP and US Liaison to China. That obviously won't have an impact on Obama's chances of becoming the Dem nominee.

In my opinion Gov. Bill Richardson is the most qualified candidate in the Democrat field. However, he won't get the nomination because he supports second amendment rights and will propose solutions without necessarily raising taxes.

Maybe if the election was just a resume contest, Richardson would win, but as long as he has to get up on a stage and open his mouth, he's in trouble.

Experience has always been one of the most over-rated ways to decide on the best candidate. It's usually preferred by lazy, ignorant voters who don't have the ability to distinguish between the candidates in more substantive ways.

isn't Tony Lake that fat chick that use to have her own talk show?

I thought Tony Lake was a subdivision in Lake City for inbred trailer trash.

Keep it up GOPers. The last laugh will be the Obama Campaign's as they will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Most of my Republican and Independent friends like Obama. Many are switching parties to vote for him.

Americans just aren't buying what the GOP is selling anymore.

ditto 10:17 alot of my republican friends feel the party has abandoned them and their goals for this nation. more and more are changing party affiliation and yes, Obama has gotten their attention and many, even their money.

Democrat-for-a-day ...a great way for republicans to vote in a primary where THEY have a voice on the best candidate

with the exception of the left wing nut jobs, the majority of the American people are not going to vote for some guy named "Barack Hussein Obama". More so is the fact that he use to be (he may not be now) a Muslim. It doesnt matter how smart he is, good looking or charismatic. Sorry, its just that simple.
