Allen's 'stocky black guy' comment thrown out
The solicitation case against Rep. Bob Allen may have gotten a bit tougher.
Prosecutors today said they would not rely on comments the Merritt Island Republican made to a police officer because Allen was not advised of his rights. Among other things, Allen said he offered to perform oral sex because he was afraid of of a "stocky black guy" at a Titusville park.
But Brevard County Judge Oscar Hotusing let the charge stand, setting the stage for a trial on Sept. 19. For more detail, see story in Florida Today.

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men's public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.
Craig's arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.
A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a "he said/he said misunderstanding," and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon.
After he was arrested, Craig, who is married, was taken to the Airport Police Operations Center to be interviewed about the lewd conduct incident, according to the police report. At one point during the interview, Craig handed the plainclothes sergeant who arrested him a business card that identified him as a U.S. Senator and said, "What do you think about that?" the report states.
Craig was detained for approximately 45 minutes, interviewed, photographed, fingerprinted and released, and police prepared a formal complaint for interference with privacy and disorderly conduct.

Let me tell you, that stocky black guy sure gets around! Poor Allen and Poor Craig. The crime in these bathrooms will force a guy to do just about anything. Men, grown men, Republican grown men, are under attack in our nation's bathrooms by a well-funded group of subversives who prey upon supple Republican man flesh and who have some magical powers to make these heretofore heterosexuals do things that are downright, well, gay. If only we had an attorney general who would do something about this. I got it, Jeff Gannon for attorney general. Who's with me!!????

The judge obviously knows nothing about state law. September 19 is in the middle of a special session. State law prohibits legislators from having to go to court while conducting legislative business. Look for a delay in that hearing.

Bob and Larry sitting in a tree .... which Republican is getting more?
And Larry pleads guilty?! These folks are not only lewd, they're pretty damn stupid too. Kool aid drinking fools who voted for them .... good for ya!

Larry Craig Update:
Officer Karsnia entered the bathroom at noon that day and about 13 minutes after taking a seat in a stall, he stated he could see “an older white male with grey hair standing outside my stall.”
The man, who lingered in front of the stall for two minutes, was later identified as Craig.
“I could see Craig look through the crack in the door from his position. Craig would look down at his hands, ‘fidget’ with his fingers, and then look through the crack into my stall again. Craig would repeat this cycle for about two minutes,” the report states.
Craig then entered the stall next to Karsnia’s and placed his roller bag against the front of the stall door.
“My experience has shown that individuals engaging in lewd conduct use their bags to block the view from the front of their stall,” Karsnia stated in his report. “From my seated position, I could observe the shoes and ankles of Craig seated to the left of me.”
Craig was wearing dress pants with black dress shoes.
“At 1216 hours, Craig tapped his right foot. I recognized this as a signal used by persons wishing to engage in lewd conduct. Craig tapped his toes several times and moves his foot closer to my foot. I moved my foot up and down slowly. While this was occurring, the male in the stall to my right was still present. I could hear several unknown persons in the restroom that appeared to use the restroom for its intended use. The presence of others did not seem to deter Craig as he moved his right foot so that it touched the side of my left foot which was within my stall area,” the report states.
Craig then proceeded to swipe his hand under the stall divider several times, and Karsnia noted in his report that “I could ... see Craig had a gold ring on his ring finger as his hand was on my side of the stall divider.”
Karsnia then held his police identification down by the floor so that Craig could see it.

Rep. Bob Filner is facing an assault and battery charge after an incident at Dulles Airport where he allegedly pushed an United Airlines bag claim employee as first reported by ABC7/Newschannel 8.
ABC 7's Jay Korff and Kris Van Cleave broke the story
Filner, a Democrat from California, allegedly attempted to enter an employees-only area on Sunday night.
Van Cleave spoke with several witnesses who said they heard Filner yell "You can't stop me," before pushing aside the employee and refusing to leave the office.
Filner disputed the account in a statement issued by his office.
"Congressman Bob Filner is on his way to Iraq, visiting our troops, and will have a full statement when he returns. Suffice it to say now, that the story that has appeared in the press is factually incorrect - and the charges are ridiculous," the statement said.
The encounter happened after Filner "experienced a delay in claiming his bag," according to a United Airlines statement. United said it regretted that delay and was cooperating in the investigation.

US Senator Larry Craig resigned tonight as Senate co-chairman for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, within hours after news broke of Craig's guilty plea to disorderly conduct after an incident in a men's bathroom....Craig pleaded guilty earlier this month to a charge of disorderly conduct after he was arrested in June at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men's public bathroom.

8:11, I don't think your party is what you think your party is. The guy in Jaws says we're gonna need a bigger boat. Well, you're going to need a bigger list. A much bigger list. But remember you're a big tent party that uses hatred of gays as fuel for the moronic base. It just gets kinda silly with gays obviously a part of your party through and through. Why? I don't know. I honestly wish everyone could be themselves. I also wish Republicans (mostly) wouldn't have to appeal to hatred to win elections. Any truth to the rumor that Cher is performing at the Republican National Convention. THAT would be a hot ticket.

you watch...Allen is going to get off. Sloppy work by the TPD (no pun intended).

When will the Republican Party face the fact that their elected officials are nothing more then a bunch of repressed homosexuals. What makes it more comical is the fact that, this is the same Party that at every conceivable moment, will bash the gay community and deny homosexuals the same fundamental rights given to every other American.
First there was Mark Foley, then Bob Allen, now Sen. Craig. Who next...? Governor Charlie Crist. Maybe Mayor Naugle is trying to save all of the repressed homosexual republicans down in South Florida.

The new seating chart for the House of Representatives is out, and it shows troubled Merritt Island Rep. Bob Allen has been moved two rows back and now sits in the fourth row next to Rep. J.C. Planas of Miami.
Allen, stripped of his committee post recently, is fighting charges that he allegedly solicited an undercover cop for oral sex at a Titusville public restroom.

Maybe Speaker Rubio should have seated Rep. Allen next to Rep. Rene Garcia
Posted by: | August 28, 2007 at 09:44 AM
The Prosecution decided not to bother with that one statement. The Judge did not rule it was inadmissible. The Prosecution just figures they have enough without it anyway. Big Difference.
That blow hard (no pun really intended) Allen should just resign and blend into the woodwork ASAP.

What is the convicted felon - Senator Gary Siplin - going to be removed? He HAS been convicted, after all.
Posted by: | August 28, 2007 at 09:47 AM
Just because Allen's statement will not be used against him in court doesn't make it any less offensive.
He still discussed a fear of becoming a statistic because their were African American's in the park.
When we allow this type of message to be carried by someone who is creating laws and representing the people of his District we disrepect the legislative process and the trust placed in the people who's job it is to maintain it.
If he waits until 08' to leave he will take down every Republican in the area with him as well as opening up the door statewide to anyone who did not speak out against him, his actions and his words.

10:31 - Jesse Jackson said the same damn thing!
“There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody White and feel relieved.” —Jesse Jackson

Something tells me Jessie Jackson didn't calculate whether performing fellatio was on his list of panic responses until he figured he was safe.

What is the deal with Larry Craig swiping his hands under a stall blocked with his luggage? Do guys get off by jerking off next to each other in the airport bathroom? Or is the plan to step into the stall with each other?
Would one of our perverted Republicans on this list explain this phenomenon?
Posted by: | August 28, 2007 at 12:26 PM
12:26 - sure one of us "perverted Republicans on this list" will explain it to you - but first how about you get that heroine needle out of your arm and go cash your welfare check.
Posted by: | August 28, 2007 at 03:10 PM
12:19 - sure, but that's not the point so don't twist it - 10:31 was decrying the racist "message" of Allen's statements as a legislator and I was pointing out that a leader of the "civil rights" movment had an even more racist "message".

My question to Bob Allen & Senator Craig is this: Is your homosexuality a choice or is it a sexual identity you were born with but chose to keep quietly tucked away in the closet?
I seriously doubt you decided on a whim one day to involve yourself in man to man sexual encounters knowing the consequences that could result negatively on your political career (as it most certainly has).
As disgusting as "public bathroom sex" might be it seems to be the only option some closeted gays feel they have. They can't really go out to bars/clubs and hang with other gays. They can't hire escorts for fear of getting outed especially if they're famous or hold public office. Even if they're really into the kink of things they couldn't afford being busted by going to sex a club/theater with glory holes.
Hmmm...what's left? Public bathrooms with strangers and cops. I guess it's a risk worth taking to fill the need.
Alternatively, they could just own up the fact they're gay and deal with it. Ultimately they'd get a lot more respect.
