Good riddance, Thurman tells Dem underdogs
Well, that's pretty much the Democratic chairwoman's message to Joe Biden, Chris Dodd and Bill Richardson for signing the pledge not to campaign in Florida because of its 1/29 primary busting the DNC rules: "I don't see how anybody who believes he or she should be president of the United States of America could get tricked into signing a pact to ignore tens of millions of diverse Americas by a selfish four-state alliance of party insiders,'' she said.
Meanwhile, the stiff penalties against FL didn't stop Michigan from setting its primary for 1/15: “Michigan Democrats are taking this step in direct response to the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s statement of intent on August 9th, supported by the Democratic leadership of New Hampshire, to hold the New Hampshire primary before January 19, 2008, in direct violation of the DNC Rules that state that New Hampshire’s delegates cannot be selected at a primary held earlier than January 22, 2008.” The DNC rules committee hasn't ruled on that plan, but it's worth noting that Michigan Democratic chairman Mark Brewer voted to strip Florida of 100% of its delegates.

all the campaigns will have to sign this.
nice work Gelber, Ring et al. Played in a game you had no idea about and florida got screwed. Brilliant.
Florida screws up again.

where was Nelson when they were passing this stupid bill? Always late to the party, Bill. Try leading for a change. Guess you won't get that VP slot hahahahahahaha

No Florida = no money

Actually this give Nelson even a better shot at the VP slot. If the Dem's ignore FL in the primary, they will need all the help they can get to compete here in the General.

A few more signs we won't have to look up cluttering up the right of ways. We should close all airports to planes from Michigan and New Hamphire this winter. Ban cars with Michigan and New Hampshire license plates. Freeze us out we freeze you out.

Since the DNC has already stripped Florida of all its delegates, why shouldn't Dem's in Florida move up the primary to some time in December. Wyoming just moved to Jan. 5th. So what's the DNC going to do, strip everybody of their delegates until it's just Brazille, Dean and other losing campaign people sitting at a table in Denver while the rest of the people, as usual, are doing the real work.
Good riddance to candidates who had no chance in Florida anyway--I wonder if we can remove their names from the primary ballot all together. Hmm, now that's a good idea. Wonder how we could make that happen.

The dems aren't winning florida in 2008. They probably will win other states, like Ohio. I don't see them winning Florida. Why even waste the time.

Looks like there may be no delegates at the convention. Unless, of course, some of these states are granted 'special previlege'.

CC and Greer are working this behind the scenes and all the talk. I think that at the end of the day Fl Republicans will get all 116 delegates. People say Greer is a master negotiateing things like this stuff. To bad Thurman does not have the same skills or none of this would have happened to the Dems. If Greer pulls it off, The Governor and Lemeiux need to send him down to Broward to negotiate with the Seminoles.

Wow, 4:18 or Jim Greer you are a busy little boy this afternoon. No one loves you more than you love yourself. You are a legend in your own mind.

Real nice statement Thurman. Instead of lobbying for your republican buddy you should have been in DC working for us. This is a sad day other states turning on us. Moreover, our candidates signing that pledge. It should have been made clear a long time ago Florida is important. Instead, we have been the doormat for the last couple of months for Dean and candidates. Sure you can come in our state and take our money. Oh! no caring about Florida democrats is not a must. FDP motto for the last year. Now our chair and Nelson want to speak up.

We are suppose to be one party with one voice. But, were not here in Florida.
Here are the new parties within the FDP
Nelson
Thurman and executive director
Gellar and Gelber
Don't get me wrong I understand the reactions to ruling last weekend. I even agreed with some of the comments made. But, if the FDP really cares about our vote then we have to find some kind of resolution.
When I read that Dean had talked with the Florida DNC members I thought there was hope. Taking Nelson and other legislatures out it was a good sign. Seeing positive comments afterwards from DNC members is what I think the florida democrats needed to hear. They seemed to get the bigger picture. What happened in 72 hours
