Rubio on the radio dial

House Speaker Marco Rubio is staying as busy as Gov. Charlie Crist today. Same subject. Different message.

Crist is flying around the state praising the property tax plan. If Rubio's conference call yesterday is any guide, he is calling the proposal disappointing and offering tepid support for its passage. A listing of Rubio's Miami radio and media appearances:

They cut services to abused, misused, and neglected children by cutting funding for social workers, investigators, attorneys, and support staff at DCF.

They cut services to the elderly in nursing homes by cutting funding for social workers, investigators, attorneys, and suport staff in ACHA.

The cut services to the handicapped by cutting funding for services, social workers, investigators, attorneys, and support staff at APD.

They took money that restaurants, hairdressers, contractors, condominiums, etc. paid for investigators, licensing, and prosecution and used it for "other things" not related to the reason the fee was paid.

They cut state positions and limited travel

EXCEPT FOR THEMSELVES. They KEPT their 3% raise, their free health insurance for themselves and their family, their free dental insurance. They KEPT their travel money for trips to Boston and to fly all around the state. They KEP their support staff positions.

Their motto, "let them eat cake."

My motto, "vote the bums out!"

A constitutional amendment is a joint resolution of the legislature that does not require the Governor's signature.

Charlie Crist is spending two days travelling around the state putting on little performances, repeating the same nauseating talking points, signing fake bills he would have no authority to sign if they were real.

like I said, I wasn't a big fan of his politics but the guy did work like a horse.

I used to work in the Capital so I know.

Believe me, he didn't take a whole lot of vacation days and did burn the midnight oil on a regular basis.

Now what he was up to....that's another issue.
Taxpayers definately got their money's worth.

5:17 - I don't know that I agree with you that he worked like a horse. I, too, worked in the Capitol during much of his administration.

The question is what was he working on - it is very interesting that the companies that benefitted so significantly under his administration are the companies where he is now a board member.

And, there was many a night when the lights were on in his office but he and his security force were "visiting" in Waverly Hills.

It was posted a while back that Erin went into George's office and resigned. Within a few hours, the posts were removed and there was a note from Steve Bousquet that they removed a post because it contained innacurate information.

I thought it was funny... and posted two questions - 1. Governor Crist has kept his campaign promises and 2. Governor Crist has not kept his campaign promises. I then asked, or dared Steve to remove the incorrect post. I don't think anything ever happened. But again, funny that Erin - most likely - called Steve to complain about the blog and action was taken pretty quick...

Erin is the biggest compainer. She needs to notch it back a few.

I shall repeat myself again as I have done on previous CC blog issues.

The smartest thing CC has ever done is hire Towson Fraser. CC should change Towson title to Chief of Staff for Operations, that way he can control legislative affairs and media strategy.

What happened to the talk around town that CC was going to ask Greer or Fraser to be COS Both would be good and have the ability to run the EOG well when George Leaves, but they are also smart guys and may have said , thanks but no thanks.

Towson is fantastic. He actually has experience and would give the CC a real communications strategy. CC's current press staff does not have what it takes and merely plug the gaps on a daily basis.

Why do we care about Eddie? From what I understand, he was just Arlene's assistant. So what if Arlene got rid of him. It's her right to find someone else if she's not happy. These blogs can be very misleading.

Now she's fired her assistant and nobody can figure out why, but early reports are he is getting his job back after arlene was told that she overstepped her bounds.

She is addicted to the power she yields, and it is detrimental not just to office morale (ask any external staffer except her pet Kamilah) but also to the Governor. George needs to take the reigns back.

I think George protects Arleene. Although, I can't fathom why. She has done more to hurt the Gov than even Rubio. I have not met one person other than her and Camila who has anything nice to say about her. Why would you keep someone who is that awful on staff?

Is Kamilah Arleenes gay lover?

Arlene manifests her nasty bitterness by mistreating people and abusing her power. She's the typical Cuban-American princess who despite her parents constant doting over her, is insecure about her appearance and competence. So whenever she is given just a little bit of power she wields it with an iron fist, albeit clumsily.

What's worse, is she goes around tearing down Jeb, who despite what valid issues people have with him, Arlene would still be in Miami making a third of what she's making now if it wasn't for Jeb.

Methinks George and Charlie should take note of her ungratefulness and disloyalty, for they may be on the receiving end someday. In the meantime, though, Mrs. Hemsley should be dealt with.

902, You are exactly right. Eikenberg should be the next COS. He is a great guy and has the right attitude and experience (in DC and Tallahassee). Fraser would do well too, and will be a loyal #2 without a doubt. Actually sounds like a pretty darn good duo assuming George leaves.

It's not Arlene's right to fire somebody(Eddie) just for going to a Halloween party at a close friends house after hours. This party had nothing to do with EOG but it's the only reason he was fire oh and Arlene doesn't like his friend.
