Thompson won't commit to seating FL delegates?

Thompson_2008_nhjc109 At least that's the implication from his quote today in the Concord Monitor after he filed to run in the Granite state: "Thompson made a "solid commitment" to support New Hampshire's first-place status, but he said he would not interfere with the Republican National Committee, which is poised to strip New Hampshireof half its convention delegates if the state holds it primary before Feb. 5."

Mitt Romney, remember, is already clearly on record promising he'll push to seat all of Florida's Republican delegates to the national convention in St. Paul.

Thompson continues to amaze me with his gaffles, drilling in the Everglades, no compassion for Florida's delgates.

Just today the in the WSJ Thompson's people were touting a "Southern Strategy" just where does Fred think Florida is????

Send Enwright to the lockers on this one, he should cover the guys mouth with duct tape.

Thanks there Romney Staffer. This was not a gaffe just consistency. Florida has no reason to complain if the RNC treats New Hampshire and South Carolina the same way. In the end everyone will be seated. I am just happy Thompson stood behind the party rules not pandering to every group. Notice he would not give an exception to NH either.

When asked by NEWSWEEK if he has done baptisms for the dead—in which Mormons find the names of dead people of all faiths and baptize them, as an LDS spokesperson says, to "open the door" to the highest heaven—he looked slightly startled and answered, "I have in my life, but I haven't recently." The awareness of how odd this will sound to many Americans is what makes Romney hesitant to elaborate on the Mormon question.

I thought all the Republican candidates made a pledge during the last debate in Orlando to seat all delegates from Florida.

Luckily Fred won't be the nominee and have to deal with this issue.

I'm sure Rudy Giuliani - when he is the nominee come Feb. 5 - will be seating all delegates from all states.

This is one more example of Thompson's complete disregard for the issues that are important to Floridians. If this were Law and Order, it's clear he would hold us in contempt. Hell, he already does.

11:28,

Repetition does not make your message more compelling or your personality more normal.

God, you are tiresome.

WOW
Fred And Rudy to GOP delegates go F_ yourself
and the dems get all the bad press, WOW

It is good to see all the Romney staffers. Even though they don't understand the issue. It would only be unfair to florida if NH or SC got theirs seated. Currently everyone loses half and I am sure they all get seated at the convention. Its a non-issue except to pandering Morman Mitt

11:37 Can't handle the truth I see

NOt 11:37 here and 11:28 is getting annoying and is accomplishing nothing at this point. Glad I have a scroll mouse to move over it now...

What does it matter if a candidate will seat all delegates - AFTER it is determined they are the winner?

12;21 Need to take some deep breaths and calm down. Now, with me, BREATH IN...........EXHALE. One more time.....

Why is Mitt Romney baptizing the dead of other religions? Why can't he respect their religions and leave them alone to rest in peace? What is wrong with this man? Why is he so disrespectful of others? This is akin to a pagan rite. Why is he doing this? Has he no shame?

11:28, peddle your crap somewhere else. You could probably do better in gaining support for whichhever candidate you support than attempting to tap bigotry and ignorance. And Bernie, aka, 11:28 STFU.

12:34 You clearly have an anger management issue. How is this tapping bigotry? I know the truth upsets you, but, nonetheless, the truth is the truth. You should learn to respect the truth, even when it is hard to swallow

So, Freddie (his real name), doesn't know if he'll seat Florida's delegates. Understand folks, that if he's the nominee, HE'S the one in control and do whatever he pleases. You know what, Freddie, I know you like to talk about your young children, but frankly it doesn't take a whole lot to accomplish that feat, even at your age. And now that we know what you're capable of, there's no need to demonstrate the same on Florida's delegates.

Romney isn't any better than Fred. Between strapping the dog to the roof of the family station wagon, flip flopping on abortion, raising taxes in Massachusetts, performing pagan rituals on dead people of other religions, banning school prayer, advocating stem cell researth, and fostering a culture of homosexual marriage in Massachusetts, Mitt should really be running as a Democrat

http://archives.cnn.com/2002/US/West/12/10/baptizing.the.dead.ap/

"Also among those baptized posthumously by the church, according to Radkey's research: Ghengis Khan, Joan of Arc, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Buddha"

12:42 What are you talking about? Fred's children have nothing to do with Florida's delegates.

Bernie at 12:30

you're a real d**khead?

1:28 At least I don't baptize the dead without seeking permission first! HAHAHAH

Leave him alone to believe what he believes. Baptizing the dead to become reborn as Mormons is no more odd than resurrection of dead bones or wine turning into blood. All religions have aspects to them non-believers don't understand.

Mabel

They baptize the dead of other religions, not Mormons. Mormons are already baptized. They do it without permission.

Wake up and pay attention, NOW

If the nomination is locked up before the convention, then of course the nominee will seat all of Florida's delegates, not just half. However, if the nomination is NOT locked up, and the Florida delegates make the critical difference, then look for a major floor fight by the remaining candidates on the issue.
Go Fred Go!

2:42 One problem with your analysis. The nominee is not the head of the party until the vote is taken. The state party chairs rule the day, not the candidates.

Fred, if they're quoting you right, then my list for consideration just got smaller (and I was willing to forgive the silly gaffe about drilling in the Everglades.)

Please please 11:28 / 1:06 give it a rest. We've all seen it by now. Nobody cares; get over it.

513 The American people care. That is why Mitt is in the single digits. He'll end up as Secretary of Education or some backwater job.

Posthumous baptism does seem to be beyond the pale and beyond even the craziest practices (and there are some pretty crazy ones) of the other major religions.

I think Fred is gonna win this thing-people like him.

5:05 They are not quoting him correctly. He's too smart to play their games.

Sorry, Democrats do not write the GOP party rules
