CFO in United Kingdom Talking Climate Change

London_dep_mayor1

CFO Alex Sink met with London Deputy Mayor Nicky Gavron, pictured here, on Monday. Gavron is spearheading London’s efforts to reduce their 1990 carbon emission levels 60 percent by 2025, wrote Tara Klimek, spokeswoman for the CFO.

On Tuesday, Sink traveled to Scotland to meet with those leading the Scottish government efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Klimek wrote. So far, in Scotland, they've reduced emissions by 16 percent between 1990 and 2004. Scotland is exploring economic growth of new industries, such as green-tech and biofuels.

I thought Florida was on a tight budget...how much is this trip costing the taxpayers....

Sink should be running spreadsheets on how to

1. Save Florida Taxpayers' money

2. Figuring out the hurricane insurance mess

I had respect for her. Now it is totally gone. She should be the state's full time number cruncher.

Leave greenhouse gas policy to those who are more qualified and who have it in their job description.

She should reimburse the state for the cost of this trip as well as the part of her salary that was spent on this boondoggle.

She does need to fully understand the costs associated with reducing greenhouse gases...

Plan to reduce greenhouse gases

First - paint the Governor's mansion green

Second - elect a new governor

Result - reduced gases coming from 700 North Adams Street, Tallahassee.

Hey, if Chuck can get away with it… why not me!… next stop; Australia, to study the effects of kangaroo poop on the environment.

And to think… all I wanted was to keep my house!

Oh wait the largest re-insure in the world is based out of London. Isn't that on her schedule too.

Uh, are any of our top officials actually in Tallahassee right now? Cristi is off getting his Brazilian waxing, Sink is seeing the sights in London...

so in 14 years, Scotland, a country the size of maybe Georgia, has reduced emissions by 16%, and hopes to meet the 60% level in 18 years.

Is it any wonder why these "goals" are a complete joke...

Reinsurers come to Florida to service the customer. It is not the other way around.

Maybe she can go to Madame Toussaud's and see her grandfathers, Eng and Chang, in wax!!!

8:53- Alex is as much a Cabinet Member as is the Governor, and the others. Just because she's a Democrat and you obviously don't like Democrats doesn't mean she can't have her opinion on an issue.

1124 You just don't understand it. SHe is the friggin CFO, not the global warming ambassador.

Who are Eng and Chang?

I think she understands that Charlie is wanting to spend tax dollars to promote a greener Florida and as such, shouldn't she be aware if what is being suggested is a good investment of state dollars?

Quite frankly, all of Florida's citizens should be invited on these junkets so they can see first hand if the policies our elected officials are promoting are worth-while.

Alex get your butt back home. So now we have the "gifted money cruncher" globetrotting as well?

This makes me sick!

I just want to keep my house too. Why, with all the problems here, are they ignoring them?

Again, it makes me sick!

Hey, anonymous 10:28 ignorant racist moron: you finally got the right thread, but you're still an ignorant racist moron. Plus, you're a chickenshit afraid to sign your name to your ignorant racist moronic notes.

11:48 I have no problem with Eng and Chang, the siamese twins, and Alex' great grandfathers. What is wrong with that? She is the relative of a famous pair of folks. If they are in wax at Tousseau's, why not go chekc them out?

Hey, easy there Brian. We are proud of our descendents!

Alex Sink and greenhouse gasses.

Let's see.

How much carbon will she pump into the atmosphere with her airplane trips to London and Scotland with her entourage?

Did she at least fly Virgin which has an offset program?

Alex, lets get back to work in solving Florida's insurance crisis and the property tax disaster. Put your green eyeshade on and start crunching the numbers rather than galavanting around the globe while emitting a huge carbon trail.

11:54 and 12:03: And why, dear moron, do you say "Eng and Chang" were Ms Sink's great grandfathers?

12:29 Look it up imbecile. Alex is proud of it and discussed it throughout the campaign.

Oh SPTimes. Don't fall victim to conspiracy theories.

My bet is that they have struck a biofuels deal with a state other than Florida, and therefore have elected not to meet with Crist.

Looks like Brian just stepped in a big pile of his own stinky sh*t. Next time bro, try not to taze yourself.

Brian Lupiani, you really shouldn't open your mouth if you don't know what you are talking about. Typical democrat.....

Brian Lupiani, you really shouldn't open your mouth if you don't know what you are talking about. Typical democrat.....

He shoudl change his name to Brian Boitano. Hah!

12:41, etc: I stand corrected - you're right about Ms Sink's ancestry.

So I was ignorant about that, and you weren't. The jury's still out about your being a racist moron, though.

And you're still a chickenshit afraid to sign your name. Oh, let me guess - you're such an important, connected player in Florida politics that you just can't be identified. Typical Repug blogger...

Brian Boitano, you are the only one who signs his name. Congratulations. You Sunshined yourself. Well done my friend. Now just try to keep from tazing yourself in public.

Now get back to work saving Lake O, the everglades, the shrimp, the trees, the oysters, the downtrodden and oppressed... have fun!

Alex Sink is hot!

She is one of the richest women in our state not to talk about probably the richest women in Florida politics, I hope she paid for her trip and not have any tax money be spent. But I am sure she took a group of stafferes with her, these guys are out of control, Crist going to the middle east and Brazil. Can the madness stop.

I'm glad she went. I would have to imagine she's looking at crunching the numbers for our state's green initiative. There is a lot of money to be saved through energy conservation. The Sunshine State's time has come to harness the power of solar energy and biofuels.

Sink is just the person to initiate the savings and then reinvest it to further the greening of our state.

I can't wait to vote for Alex Sink as our governor!

Focusing on the cost of her ticket is narrow minded.

Well, what with all the tax cuts, budget cuts, wage cuts, belt tightening and what not, we can be thankful our elected representatives can at least still enjoy a junket or two.

I am just glad she is our CFO and not that hypocrite Tom Lee. She ATLEAST has a future in politics. He couldnt get elected for anything if he paid for it. Tom Lee and Johnnie Byrd. Two birds of a feather.
