Jeb Bush on the candidates
Today former Gov. Jeb Bush chatted with Hoover Institution's Peter Robinson on a webcast called Uncommon Knowledge, check it out here. He chats about the candidates about 28 minutes into the interview. Bush said that he's given advice to all the candidates privately saying that they should "be genuine."
He wouldn't endorse anyone but he gave his two cents on the Republican candidates' greatest strengths.
Rudy Giuliani: "Direct, sees the world the way it is, and he's direct and he communicates well and he has high energy and tremendous personality."
Fred Thompson: "Committed conservative." He added that Thompson is "new at the game."
John McCain: "His courage. I was in my bed watching this with my wife and I got out of bed and started cheering," when McCain mentioned the woodstock line during the last debates.
Mitt Romney: "Intellectual curiosity. . .He's incredibly smart and asks the questions necessary to find that common ground for the next challenges we face, which politics is not very good at right now."
Mike Huckabee: "I like him. He's a great speaker and clear-minded about the importance of moral principles."

Will Jeb endorse at all prior to the Florida primary??

Jeb who? Sounds familiar....
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 03:50 PM
Remember
This is the man that created the mess that we are in right now.
If he should run for president, his record alone will defeat any chance he has
Thanks Jeb, for
Higher taxes (you are tax and spend no matter what you say)
Higher insurance
A broken residential real estate market
You did one thing well, when you appeared on TV with Max Mayfield to discuss hurricanes. You looked good then....
BUT THAT IS IT!!!!
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 03:53 PM
And people, believe me,
Our real estate market is broken because of the "Cut and run" republicans and democrats in Tallahassee and the liberal intoxicted local politicians who will spend any amount of money on anything without regard for spending reduction
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 03:54 PM
Genuine? Really, Jeb? It's great advice, but the source is a bit surprising.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 03:57 PM
Well, if he is sitting in bed at 8pm, then he surely is not up for the rigors of being president.
Wonder if he sleeps commando?
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:04 PM
I'll bet they're all cringing in fear of getting his endorsement. Jeb your neocon brother is the worst president ever and you helped him steal Florida. WE HAVE NOY FORGOTTEN!
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:08 PM
Ok Jeb, I’ve had just about all I can take from you. So, if your not going to shut up and GO AWAY… then I guess we’ll just have to be sure and translate your BS into the truth.
So… shall we dance?
“Rudy Giuliani: "Direct, sees the world the way it is…”
… From an Oedipus, incestuous, cross-dressing, exploiting the deaths of Americans for political gain… point of view.
Fred Thompson: “… He added that Thompson is "new at the game."
… if you think American Democracy is “a game”, that is… I know you Bush boys do.
John McCain: “…I got out of bed and started cheering," when McCain mentioned the woodstock line during the last debates.”
… Yes; because we all know that no one in the Bush family would ever be involved with anything as hippie as doing drugs, huh?
Mitt Romney: "Intellectual curiosity. . .”
… Which isn’t bad for a dude named after a piece of sports equipment.
Mike Huckabee: “…He's a great speaker and clear-minded about the importance of moral principles."
… Of course; because we all know that no one in the Bush family would ever engage in any sort of immoral behavior, huh Jeb?

This a guy who has sons working for the Giuliani, Thompson and Romney campaigns. He'll endorse whoever promises him a cabinet spot.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:11 PM
4:11 Going from Governor of a large state to a cabinet position is generally the end of your political career. One usually goes from cabinet to governor.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:14 PM
Jebbie is never going to be president; his political career pretty much is at an end. He should just stick to the corporate boards he pretends he's on.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:15 PM
4:04 You crack me up. Does Jeb sleep commando style?
But a good question, let's hope not for the sake of his wife if he is prone to bounding out of bed and then jumping up and down. Almost sounds like he had a private "Howard Dean moment"
YYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:17 PM
Start a thread on Jeb Bush and the usual bunch of wankers show up to spout their nonsense and slander and generally show themselves to be complete idiots.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:27 PM
4:27 and the Jeb apologists magically appear from the caves they dwell in to defend "the man". Perhaps if you owned a new home in south florida, you would think otherwise.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 04:30 PM
Thank you Jeb...you have have been a great governor for our fine state!
Posted by: Vanagon | November 01, 2007 at 05:05 PM
Yawn.....Jeb who? Think of the last time Kirk, Askew, Graham, or Martinez said anything worth hearing... Bottom line, who care what a former governor of Florida thinks? Would've included Chiles, but as we all know, he ain't talking...
Posted by: Cynical Idealist | November 01, 2007 at 05:07 PM
To the person who said, ....."This a guy who has sons working for the Giuliani, Thompson and Romney campaigns. He'll endorse whoever promises him a cabinet spot"......You should do research before you post. Jeb has one son and he is married, living in Dallas, TX and working as a lawyer. Also, it's "whomever" not "whoever".

GO JEB
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:11 PM

Gee, no mention of the only republican candidate worth voting for. Why am I not surprised?
RON PAUL!
Posted by: Some Guy | November 01, 2007 at 05:20 PM
Anyone who blames Jeb Bush for the real estate problem is a complete idiot and should not even have the right to vote
Posted by: ce | November 01, 2007 at 05:23 PM
Oh my, here come the Paulians....run forest...run!!!
Posted by: True Conservative | November 01, 2007 at 05:25 PM
What a bunch of whiney babies dems are. Man I get tired of listening to crying and bitching like a bunch of shcool girls. Say something meaningful for a change. Acturally think before you post.

Jeb was the best, wish he would run for President
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:25 PM

Thanks for not mentioning the only candidate worth a damn:
RON PAUL!
It's OK...
I'll do it..
RON PAUL
RON PAUL

Youtube RON PAUL...
VOTE RON PAUL IN 2008!
Here's my quote on Ron Paul: "He cured my apathy"...

WATCH OUT! IF JEB LIKES THEM THEY MUST BE CROOKS.
RON PAUL IS THE ONLY HONEST ONE IN THE BUNCH.

Couldn't agree with you more Butch. They claim free speech but try to shout down anyone who has a differnt point of view. But I am offended with your school girl comment. My 13 yr old daughter doesn't come close to the bitching and moaning coming from the left side of the aisle.
Posted by: True Conservative | November 01, 2007 at 05:31 PM
Why are liberals so nasty and full of lies? You lost Florida in 2000 because the Supreme Court wouldn't allow you to steal the election away from the voters. Get over it and get a life.
Posted by: Fred | November 01, 2007 at 05:31 PM
On the true conservative web sites Tancredo and especially Duncan Hunter score higher on the polls than the above candidates.
Posted by: EldonH | November 01, 2007 at 05:34 PM
Paul is a nut ball troofer!! I agree with his fiscal policies, but that is it!! Having the "I'm taking my ball and going home" foreign policy will not make our image nor our world problems go away.
Posted by: True Conservative | November 01, 2007 at 05:35 PM
Enough with Admiral Stockdale..er, I mean Ron Paul. His old & loony. Next.
By the way, Jeb Bush was a great governor & he would make a great president to take over the New World Order from his brother. A little sarcasm for the conspiracy nutjobs out there in their basements.

Very true Eldon, but those two just don't have the money behind them unfortunately. I am begining to like Huckabee more and more. And he is gaining traction.
Posted by: True Conservative | November 01, 2007 at 05:38 PM
At least JEB can figure out a butterfly ballot unlike the liberals.
Posted by: Rob | November 01, 2007 at 05:44 PM
I enjoyed reading about Mr. Bush. I wish Iowa had a governor like him. The liberal idiots elected Chet Culver. And the spending is WAY out of control. And no, you cannot blame Jeb Bush for the real estate issues.
Posted by: Johanna | November 01, 2007 at 05:44 PM
Jen gives me gas... pherrrrrrrrrrrrrt!
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:48 PM
If you are a liberal you can and do blame any GOP member for anything. As a liberal, you don't have to be bothered with those pesky things called "facts". Fake but accurate dontcha know?? Just walk in lockstep and repeat the MoveOn and Kos talking points.
Posted by: True Conservative | November 01, 2007 at 05:48 PM
I, too, like Huckabee. I'll be glad when one the candidates I really like makes an unstoppable charge. I just don't know if Rudy or John are what the rpubs need right now. I think a true conservative can still win big time.

JEB RAN THE STATE OF FLORIDA INTO
a 2 Billion dollar deficit. Found all kinds of ways to cut fees and taxes for the wealthy.
Only one in four students who starts High School in Florida graduates. Taxes on our cheese box homes has zoomed, property insurance has doubled or tripled. The air is flithy and I could go on and on but I assure you there is a special place reserved in HELL for Jeb Bush.
Posted by: Phil | November 01, 2007 at 05:49 PM
Facts mean nothing to dems. As long as they hate Bush....that's all that matters. Really sad state of affairs in this country when hate rules the day. A good reason to make sure Hitleray doesn't get elected. Can you imagine??? Plum scary it is.
Posted by: Butch | November 01, 2007 at 05:51 PM
1.) Kind of sad when you realize "Free Speech" has devolved into this!
2.) Kind of sad when you realize our Government represents the people in "all" respects.
3.) Kind of sad when you realize the amalgamation of all Republicans and all of the Democrats would not constitute a fuctioning party, let alone the possibility of intelligent legislation.
Posted by: ERL | November 01, 2007 at 05:53 PM
What does Governor Bush have to say about Ron Paul? His poll numbers in NH are above both Huckabee and Thompson.
Posted by: Crow | November 01, 2007 at 05:53 PM
WOW can liberals whine!! Let's see....what else can we blame Jeb for?
Posted by: Ben | November 01, 2007 at 05:54 PM

You should do YOUR research. Jeb has two sons: George P. Bush and Jeb, Jr.
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:55 PM
Didnt Jeb say nice things about Tom Lee too during the last election?
Run for the hills Rudi, this guy is the plague!
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:56 PM
I guess we know what the Bush spawn are doing tonight!
Posted by: | November 01, 2007 at 05:58 PM
The state's data show Florida's graduation rate increased 0.3 of a percentage point from 71.6 percent the previous year and is 11 percentage points higher than 1998-99, when Bush took office.
Source is the St. Petersburg Times
Care to tell some more lies Phil??
See, Libs can just make up stats as pass them off as fact to forward their agenda.
