Scandal costs Allen political currency
State Rep. Bob Allen is still clinging to his political career, insisting the cops (and a jury last week) got it wrong about that sex solicitation charge. But the lifeblood of that future has already dried up.
Campaign finance records show the term-limited Merritt Island Republican has gotten just $100 since his July arrest, ending a steady accumulation of money in preparation for a state Senate bid in 2010.
Money or not, Allen will have a tough time holding onto the seat he currently holds. Top Republicans, including House Speaker Marco Rubio, want him to resign. Allen says he will appeal the conviction.

Bob, please go away. Yeah you are making it hard foir the republican party but more importantly you are helping to instill a distrust in voters of ALL elected officials, democrat or republican. If you want to fight it, fine, but leave office first. And before the partisan hacks jump on board, scandals happen to both parties.

I am not a perv, I will continue to serve.
They said I lied, but I ain't gonna hide
The cops got it wrong, I'll continue my innocence song
I will appeal, I'll accept no plea deal
You will see, I'll return with victory.

Bob, go to Alaska where the GOP are selling out the whole state. Your stuff wouldn't even get noticed there.

What political currency? He never had any.
Posted by: | November 12, 2007 at 06:24 PM
Not true. He clearly had at least $20 in political currency.

Fight it Bob.
Posted by: | November 12, 2007 at 07:35 PM
Appeal to the supreme court if necessary Bob. You don’t deserve this so fight it to the end.... I love it.

He have more money if he wasn't dropping $20 in every public bathroom in town!

That is so clever. The exclamation point really brings home the punch line. You might want to volunteer for Leno during the writers' strike.

I see his BFF's Hasner and Rubio are treating him like he is radioactive. Nice to know you can count on friends in a time of great need.
Posted by: | November 12, 2007 at 08:33 PM
At least it's more clever than offering to blow a cop for twenty bucks in a public bathroom... aye?
Posted by: | November 12, 2007 at 08:38 PM
It's most certainly more clever than vamping for a pervert on the blogs... aye?
Posted by: | November 12, 2007 at 08:40 PM
What is even more clever is offering to pay to BJ a cop. Now that is clever.

Representative Allen has due process rights. I believe that he was set up. He said he was inspecting the park and I believe him. We need to give him a chance to clear his name through the appeals process.

8:53, or should we say Bob Allen. Quit defending yourself on this blog. You should be helping your lawyers with the appeal.

Bob Allen, Larry Craig and anyone else in public office who is a sexual degenerate...in the words of the great Dr. Seuss...

Bobby - your groping and begging to bring sexual favors to another man in the public TOLIET is what has lost you any respect. You are disgusting.
Posted by: | November 13, 2007 at 09:45 AM
Now that Bob is just about gone, who's gonna get the hookers for the state conventions?
Posted by: politicalspectator | November 13, 2007 at 10:17 AM
Well, I don't know who's going to get the male hookers, but there are still plenty of straight pervs left to set up the female ones.
Posted by: | November 13, 2007 at 10:20 AM
I’ll volunteer myself to handle all the female hotties! Someone’s got to do it… so, what’s that… one?
Posted by: | November 13, 2007 at 11:37 AM

Posted by: | November 13, 2007 at 01:50 PM
Allen, is a disgusting immoral human being and a hypocrite.
cruising for sex in public places is done every day of every second by heterosexuals.
Throw him out for being a lying hypocrite not for looking for sex like any other person does in a bar in a park at work in a coffee shop at the store.

Lick those charges Bob.
Posted by: | November 13, 2007 at 07:37 PM
He should have been more concerned with his dignity than his notion to protect what he thinks he had in political currency.
