THAT is a nice cane.
Posted by: Bob Allen | December 07, 2007 at 02:17 PM
I thought I recognized the shoes on the left, but it looks like he's taking the candy cane and I can't imagine he would do that. He's strictly a giver.

Buzz you are only about 4 days late on this one. You got beat by a better rag.

I'm pretty thick skinned and enjoy humor, but I think Southern Strategy crossed the decency line with this "Christmas" card. Bathroom humor like this isn't going to get them any business.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 02:35 PM
Wow, could those be Bob Allen and Larry Craig together?
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 02:40 PM
Bathroom humor like this won't get them business from stuff-shirt stiffs who wouldn't be fun to work with anyway. No loss. I for one like their ability to laugh at themselves.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 02:41 PM
"I for one like their ability to laugh at themselves." Heck, I like their ability to laugh at the absurdity of politics. I thought lobbying was where politicians went to die. Guess I was wrong. This is funny as hell.
Are they from St. Pete? Nice work.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:08 PM
I'm no fan of lobbyists, but this is quality. Give credit where credit is due. Sending that card took guts.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:13 PM
CD-
Where's our cards?
Posted by: G | December 07, 2007 at 03:21 PM
What do you mean this isn't going to get them any business? You think that sending some stupid bulk-ordered card with a wreath on the front will? So they offend some people. I bet this card gets remembered. I doubt that Southern Strategy got where they are by playing it safe. If you want safe, hire a public relations firm. If you want results, hire a lobbyist.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:27 PM
SSG. Would you send out a card making light of a Jewish holiday? Would you make jokes about blacks? No, SSG wouldn't have the balls to do so. Guess the birth of Jesus is fair game.
Posted by: Same on you | December 07, 2007 at 03:36 PM
hey "same on you" (nice typo)
since when do candy canes have anything to do with jesus? spare us all the artificial sanctimony. i think this card is making fun of larry craig anyway, you dim bulb. if craig is jesus to you, you might have bigger issues to deal with.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:44 PM
Are those Charlie Crist and George Lemieux?
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:50 PM
No 350, those are your dad and your daddy.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 03:57 PM
What's even more amusing is how offended some people get over what amounts to absolutely nothing. Merry Christmas. Ooops, I probably just offended someone.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 04:00 PM
This is a hoot.
I wish Southern Strategy would go into making holiday cards and get out of fouling up the legislature in Tallahassee with their slimy lobbyists.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 04:18 PM
4:00
amen. oops, dammit.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 04:23 PM
Merry Christmas to all, and may God have mercy on everyone… even the atheists!
… cause you know, it take a lot of faith to be an atheist.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 04:26 PM
I am a christian and this that card is hilarious. Its a friggin candy cane. Its not like they are not passing little baby jesus in a manger.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 04:38 PM
Well, that takes care of my GOP gifts. Now, what to buy my Democrat friends.
Posted by: Jack Meoff | December 07, 2007 at 04:41 PM
Don't look at me for ideas!
Posted by: Michael Hunt | December 07, 2007 at 04:45 PM
Good concept, but a bit short on the details side of things…
Neither of these guys have their pants down, and we should know.
Love,
Mark and Bob

Who is the shoe on the right and left.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 05:02 PM
Would they be passing a little 8lb 9oz "Baby Jesus" or possibley the 18 month old "almost a toddler baby jesus"?
Oh, little baby jesus, you're so cute.
Thank you baby jesus.

Uh... what? Dude, that's more than a bit creepy.
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 06:37 PM
3:57 Aren't they you and YOUR daddy?
Posted by: | December 07, 2007 at 08:59 PM
That is sick.
Sick and irreverent as a "Christmas" card.
Was the downfall of our party that Foley played in losing Congress to the DEMS not enough?

LARRY
A**!
Posted by: your 15 minutes | December 08, 2007 at 02:24 AM
My, what a big stick you are swinging. May I lick that candy cane.
Posted by: L. Craig (now you know why it's called Craig's List) | December 08, 2007 at 11:31 AM
Classic!
Posted by: Paul D. Harvill | December 08, 2007 at 12:41 PM
Two State Senate members. Care to take a guess?
Posted by: | December 08, 2007 at 08:38 PM
Here's hoping that some people receive a sense of humor from Santa.
Posted by: baldilocks | December 08, 2007 at 10:35 PM
That is the best card I've seen. Absolutely ironic and hilarious.
Posted by: ginger | December 08, 2007 at 10:41 PM
Wow...look at the size of that thing!
Posted by: Jaibones | December 09, 2007 at 08:59 AM

Posted by: | December 09, 2007 at 10:38 AM
If you give me the cane, I'll give you some candy!
Posted by: Sparky | December 09, 2007 at 12:07 PM
Revoltingly humorous in the tradition of Oscar Wilde. Given the symbolism, I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry.
