Crist sets election to replace Tee Holloway

Gov. Charlie Crist has called a Feb. 12 primary March 4 general election to replace state Rep. Wilbert "Tee" Holloway, who has been appointed to the Miami-Dade County School Board. Holloway is a Democrat and represents District 103.

Let's see if United Teachers of Dade also gets to hand-pick Tee's successor. They hand-picked Tee to fill this seat in the first place.

Crist was smart to reach out to the teachers.

Well, Democrats always DO stick together...

Can we have a special election to replace Chuck?

Oscar Braynon Jr will be the winner of this seat, he was already blowing everyone out when the seat was open.

Oscar Braynon Jr. will be the winner of this seat if and only if the local teachers give their blessing.

Just a fact of political life in Dade Democratic politics.

Braynon has now has an experienced but tarnished opponent in former Opa Locka Mayor Myra Taylor. The race should be interesting with a low turnout, it will probably be very close.
