Crist talks ethics, climate change in the bayou
Gov. Charlie Crist went to Baton Rouge today and met with the man who could give him a run for emerging star of the Republican Party -- Gov.-elect Bobby Jindal.
The politicians discussed Florida's attempts to bring down property insurance and the need for a national catastrophe fund. They also discussed ways to address climate change by increasing ethanol production.
Jindal is a bit of a phenomenon. The 36-year-old son of Indian immigrants graduated from Brown University and was a Rhodes scholar. He won decisively on a platform that included changing Louisiana's reputation for political corruption, which is why Crist brought along a copy of Florida's ethics laws. Greer needs to remind Crist he is the Governor of FLORIDA and we need to get back to the business of the people. This traveling willy nilly all over the country and the world for that matter is getting annoying. There is no way to offset a carbon footprint like that. Who does he think he is? Al Gore?

No reporters tagged along, so the governor's office needed to provide their own photo to the media for the photo-op...

The only time I want to hear change associated with Cristi, is regime change.

I do not believe I’ve ever experienced a bigger disappointment, than having this piece of plastic for a Governor.
Someone need to get “The People’s Mistake” a GPS devise for Christmas so he can find his office… check that, make it… OUR office.
On that note: I can’t wait to put someone else in it.

Terminator:
Regarding your "tan" comment, apparently you either don't follow national politics closely or you didn't pay attention when you read the story -- Bobby Jindal is of Indian (as in India) descent, the first person of Indian descent ever to be elected Governor. Not to go overboard with the PC, but whatever the reason for your insensitive remark you may want to apologize.

Ostensibly, this trip was meant to acquaint Governor Crist with Governor Jindal, and to pay his respects. Insiders, however, know the truth. The trip to Baton Rouge was a trip to pay homage to Governor Crist’s true mentor: Huey Long. Like Governor Crist, Huey Long was a demagogue, who was short on substance, but more than made up for it with fiery speeches about the “people” and how he would get after insurance companies, big business and the like. Welcome to your spiritual home, Charlie. You would have made your mentor proud.

Is he brown? Is he clean?

I would consider Governor-Elect Jindal to be an emerging star in the Republican Party. You can tell by the photo that whatever Gov. Jindal is saying is going right over Charlie's head.
