Baxley dialing for Mitt
The Buzz is that former state Rep. Dennis Baxley, the incoming Christian Coalition chair, is urging social conservatives to vote for Romney in recorded calls. Some Huckabee folks are fuming that Baxley is improperly invoking the Christian Coalition, even though he's speaking for himself.
Other robo calls we're aware of: Bay Buchanan for Romney, Jack Kemp for McCain and John McCain for McCain.
Who else have you heard from?

Jack Kemp for McCain. Now I have heard everything. He is a liberal Republican, bleeding heart Republican.
He also represented Hugo Chavez as a Washington Lobbyist. Ask him. Mr. Kemp, did you take money from Hugo Chavez.
Kemp should retire from politics and punditry. No one listens anymore.

Did Jack Kemp run over your dog? What the hell is wrong with you wierdo?
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 06:01 PM
Kemp is yesterday's news. He blundered his way through his Dole campaign and then accepted lobbying money from Hugo Chavez.
But I guess McCain's membership in the Keating 5 is not different than Kemp's love affair with Hugo Chavez

It looks like McCain is putting together a team of 70+ year olds to help him win the electon.
This is a recipe for disaster in the fall.
McCain needs to align himself with and promote younger people in his ads and public appearances.

So Kemp is doing robo calls for Walnuts. Who's next, Sly Stallone?
Walnuts needs to get some youth into his campaign rather than all the poster children from AARP.

I guess Kemp wants to be VP. That's just what we need. A 75 year old VP and a 74 year old President. Who's next on the line-up of angry old men?

Who cares about that hypocritical loser Baxley? I guess he thinks this will embalm his dead political career.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 06:44 PM
Sooooo glad that Baxley lost that senate race. He is a nutcase. He would always impose his personal views on everyone else. The CC must be in real sorry shape to have him as Chair.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 06:49 PM
If he is the Chair of the CC, that will certainly kill any political career he may desire. No more extremeist!

I hate Robo Calls... and Bay Buchanan? Who the hell will know who she is? This is Florida, not K Street. And Kemp, gimme a break. He is the perfect example of "cashing in". No doubt he has $$$$$ signs in his eyes. And Baxley? Call me with a Christian message and I am sure never going to vote for Huckabee. Hell, the man is the most duplicitous and mean spirited person running for office. He was wrong to tell SC voters not to show up at the polls if they intended to vote for someone else. What kind of a leader is that. He lost my vote that day. Time for all of them to retire from politics and move on with their lives.

How many people know who Jack Kemp is anymore? 12 years is like two lifetimes in politics.
Did Chuck Norris finally throw in the towel on Huck?

Mitt Romney only has a few social conservatives in Florida supporting him. Mike Huckabee has a lot more:

7:07 That is a list of extremeist nutcases. Mitt is one of them

Former state Rep. Dennis Baxley is a joke.
Being the incoming Christian Coalition chair makes him into a dangerous joke.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 08:20 PM
The Christian Coalition is losing any credibility it may have left.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 08:24 PM
I can't wait to see which of Mitt, Rudy, and McCain wins this thing Tuesday.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 08:26 PM
How about the four or five calls I got the last few days from Romney's push polling, which he should know if illegal in Florida if you dont say who is calling and who is paying for the call.
Posted by: | January 24, 2008 at 10:07 PM
This is why I can't support Mitt - the people he surrounded himself with here in Florida are the lowest of the low...I hear he's recruited the same ilk in all 50 states, and that's all aprt of his plan.

7:11 - hey, at least romney didn't get stemberger

When was the last time the Christian Coalition influenced any race in the state of Florida?
I thought they disbanded back in 1996.
Dennis Baxley can call on behalf of Mitt all he wants. Dennis is has-been and Mitt is a never-will-be trying to buy the presidency. Did not work for Perot or Forbes, it won't work now.
Did I hear Romney answer Russert's question on how much of his money he has put into the race with the words, "I don't care to tell the voters. They can wait until January 31."

downright bizarre that a Baptist would endorse a mormon. This is the same group that boycotted Disney.
Posted by: | January 25, 2008 at 11:01 AM
I'll be voting for Romney.
