Early, absentee votes top 1-million
More than 1-million votes will have been tallied at early voting sites and by mail by the time polls in Florida open at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Through Saturday, the Division of Elections reports, about 503,000 Republicans, 437,000 Democrats and 109,000 unaffiliated or minor party voters had cast ballots. With this kind of turnout, imagine what would have happened if the Democratic presidential candidates had paid any attention to Florida.
Elections offices reported a brisk business Monday among absentee returns, ensuring that the pre-Election Day vote would exceed the 1-million mark, or 10-percent of the total electorate. "People were lining up to turn them in," said Kathy Adams, a spokeswoman for Palm Beach County's election office.

Sorry liberal unions and local gov'ts - you're going down tomorrow night. Amendment 1 passes by over 61 percent.

More than three-times as many Democrats will vote in Florida as they did in New Hampshire and probably twice as many that voted in South Carolina.
And, who says that the Democratic Voters in our state wont be heard. The sound of their voices/votes will be heard across our country.

Do simple math people! Republicans = YES vote on 1.
Republicans>Democrats.
Ergo, Amendment 1 passes.

So, what you're saying is... all republicans are stupid?
Not gonna look good on your dorm resume.

Interestying analysis 4:54 - this isn't a repub/dem issue... it is a "I want my SOH welfare to follow me entitlement attitude" issue... which side are you on?

4:54 - republicans are not all voting for A1 - recheck your algebra there

Let us look at McCain’s conservative credentials:
-IMMIGRATION: he wrote the bill granting amnesty to illegal immigrants (co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy)
-SOCIAL SECURITY: he voted to give your social security money to illegal immigrants
-TAXES: he voted against the Bush tax cuts multiple times (he has since flip-flopped and has campaigned as a lifelong tax-cutter)
-RHETORIC: he routinely engages in Democratic class warfare against big companies in America, particularly the “evil” drug companies who research cures to debilitating diseases for a profit
-ECONOMY: as recently as December 2007 he admitted “he does not know the economy very well” and needed to get better at it
-1ST AMENDMENT: he wrote the McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was declared to be an unconstitutional infringement of the 1st Amendment (co-sponsored by ultra-liberal Democrat Russ Feingold)
-2ND AMENDMENT: he was called the “worst 2nd amendment candidate” by the president of the NRA
-ENERGY TAX: wrote a bill (co-sponsored by his buddy Lieberman) imposing a massive tax on energy which, according to the Department of Energy, would drastically raise the price of gasoline and put 300,000 Americans out of work
-GLOBAL WARMING: supports radical global warming legislation which involved him voting with every Democrat; think only America is responsible to take action, not other superpowers
-JUDGES: he joined forces with Democrats (Gang of 14) to block the Senate Republican’s attempt to confirm conservative, strict constructionist judges
-WAR ON TERROR: fought with Hillary Clinton to demand that terrorists be given a full American trial
-GAY MARRIAGE: he joined liberals to fight against a federal marriage amendment supporting the institution of traditional marriage
-CHRISTIANS: campaigning in 2000, he famously described Christian leaders as “agents of intolerance”
-PRO-LIFE: he filed an amicus brief against pro-life advocates in Wisconsin
-BI-PARTISANSHIP: he met with leading Democrats in 2004 to discuss the possibility of being John Kerry’s Vice-President
-PROFESSIONAL ETHICS: ringleader of the infamous Keating 5 ethical scandal which cost US tax payers $160 billion (Google it)
-PERSONAL ETHICS: McCain cheated on his first wife after she had a severe accident that left her partially disabled. He then divorced her and married his multi-millionaire mistress, whose daddy bought McCain a spot in the Congress

YES on 1. I rather like the idea of screwing everybody who moved into Florida after me. I've got mine, Jack. Who needs taxes, anyway?

I am so sick of Charlie "Amnesty" Crist and Senator McAmnesty that I am not only going to vote against McAmnesty I am also going to vote against Amendment 1 just because Gov Crist is for it. He needs to be chopped down to size and forced to work hard enough that he loses his tan.

My right wing collegues..Amendment 1 is not a right left issue..Its good and bad but should pass with alot of Dem support..The GOP candidates spent 10s of milllions campaigning here.Secret dont tell anyone, hush. There are more registered Dems than Republicans in our state. The number of voters that ID ans Republicans is shrinknig.A high turnout bodes poorly in Nov. for the GOP if the new machines count the votes.46k vote turnout differential and the Democrats spend zero.Bad news boys they may Even count the Votes in S Florida and Let them black folk vote in Jax..Trouble in river city.

Heres the BADNEWS FOR NOVEMBER BOYS ..Democrats and Republicans still outnumber independent voters. Florida leans Democratic statewide, with 4.1 million Democrats and 3.8 million Republicans. By comparison, there are 2.2 million unaffiliated or minor-party voters.

From the Boston Globe - On paper, the Democratic primary is a glorified straw poll or beauty contest, with no delegates at stake and all the candidates forswearing an active campaign in Orlando. But with well over a million Democrats likely to cast ballots in a state that has already decided one recent presidential election, the results may be hard to ignore.
