Immigration debate heats up
Immigration could be a testy issue in Tallahassee in '08, just as it is on the presidential campaign trail. The Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida is going door-to-door in the Capitol, registering its opposition to bills that would require employers to verify that their employees are not illegals. That legislation (SB 388) is sponsored by Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, and Rep. Don Brown, R-DeFuniak Springs (HB 73). The ABC advisory to lawmakers includes a Wall Street Journal article, detailing problems with similar laws in Arizona and Georgia.

"The Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida is going door-to-door in the Capitol, registering its opposition to bills that would require employers to verify that their employees are not illegals."
That's all you need to know about the latest version of the American Free Market. "Screw my country, just as long as I make a profit!"
