McCain's new Florida ad: "Protect"

Comments

Great. He now supports the Bush tax cuts - apparently upon realization that he CANNOT WIN the nomination by repeating his previous opposition to them (twice).

If that isn't the text-book definition of a politician who will say anything to get elected, I don't know what is...

I like how they keep his face in shadow so you can't readily see that he is about as old as your average Egyptian pyramid.

Why would I believe he's going to make my life better now? He's had decades in Washington to do something and his one big idea was to limit my constitutional right to support the candidate of my choice.

Throw the bums out!

Excellent ad. Simple but very effective.

Well we know that ad didn't cost much to cut.

And you now want to "protect" me?

Where were you before?

NO THANK YOU.

11:05,

Conservatism is dead my friend. The sooner you realize it the better off you will be. Do you remember that Charlie Crist was elected Governor ?

That is the Republican nominee.

Mr. Romney, the Republican candidate from Massachusetts by way of Michigan and Utah who enjoys a milkshake at the end of a long day, stopped by a staging area for a Martin Luther King Birthday parade here. In his dress shirt and tie, and with his unwavering smile, he walked over and posed for photographs with a group of black youngsters. Putting his arm around a teenage girl, he waved to the cameras and offered, “Who let the dogs out?” He added a tepid “woof woof.”

Somewhere, the Baha Men, the Bahamian group whose 2000 song the candidate was referencing, must have been shuddering.

Kevin Madden, one of Mr. Romney’s campaign boyz on the bus, said the candidate had been joking around and had responded to someone who asked, “Who let you out?”

Later, Mr. Romney admired a child’s gold necklace and said, “Oh, you’ve got some bling-bling here.”

He supports the Bush Tax cuts, because they need to be made permanent or else it becomes a tax increase. He has never supported tax increases. He wanted to focus on reducing the debt before cutting taxes. So is the approach of a fiscal conservative.

NO NO he didn't say "Bling Bling". How has this not been talked about more ?

11:11 - No Conservatism is not dead.
CC fooled us all. We WILL NOT make that same mistake twice.

What's your point about "bling?" That's a word that is in the American mainstream. If you're implying Romney is somehow racist, check his credentials as a staunch civil rights supporter. And, contrast that with McCain --the came McCain who incessantly talks about "gooks" and voted against making Martin Luther King's birthday a national holiday.

The human robot made a mistake here but it's not a huge blunder like Dukakis.

Did he really start out this spot saying "Floridians are afraid..."?

The only thing this Floridian is afraid of is 4 more years of a Republican in the White House.

But it ain't gonna happen, so I guess I'm really NOT afraid after all.

McCain should install Cristi as the VP candidate. That way, they can drive the Republican party into the ground! Ha, didn't Cristi say that he was Reagan-esque when he was running for governor?

Ha ha ha. A new Insider Advantage poll, without Thompson as a choice, has McCain in 3rd behind Romney and Giuli. Ha ha ha.

11:05 to clear it up for you, where McCain was was in a Communist POW camp. Where were YOU?

2:22 I assume you don't grasp percentages well.

If you are referring to the Insider Advantage poll finished 1/16, it has Rudy leading with 21% and Romney tying McCain at 20% each.

2 subsequant polls place McCain leading, way ahead of Romney. One on Real Clear Politics the other not.

2:38: Insider Advantage just came out with a 1/20-1/21 poll.

Governor Romney has earned a reputation for campaign spin, but he can’t hide the facts about his record. Economists at the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and Northeastern University called job growth under Romney ‘anemic’ and economic growth among ‘the worst in the country.’ The facts are clear: His state’s economic performance and job growth lagged behind the national average, as Romney raised taxes and fees by more than $700 million per year. According to the Tax Foundation, Massachusetts’ business tax climate ranking fell 11 spots, forcing employers to take their jobs elsewhere. With a record like that, it’s understandable why Mitt Romney wouldn’t want Florida voters to know the facts.

John McCain has been fighting for pro-growth policies since he first enlisted in the Reagan Revolution. Even Mitt Romney acknowledged as much, calling John McCain ‘Washington’s number one watchdog against waste’ in his 2004 book.

2:45 if that is the case, it is not yet on the link you first gave for Real Clear Politics.

2:47 - possible the same person. The correct average is 3.3. It is plain as the link on your own posting.

Here's a homegrown Florida poll:

Who Are You Supporting?

Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
John McCain
Ron Paul
Mitt Romney

This guy changes positions just as much as anyone else. The only difference is that he tries to hide it rather than admit when he was wrong. That's what happens to you when you are a LIFETIME politician.

Romney is our best shot.

McCain beats Hillary and all others, say polls

Romney would lose big to either Hillary or Obama.

I know who I will vote for!
