Rudi for president!
TAMPA - Maybe Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Buddy Johnson was thinking of those photos showing Rudy Giuliani in drag when he prepared sample Republican ballots for the Jan. 29 presidential preference primary arriving in mailboxes this week.
Topping the list of candidates is one Rudi Giuliani, with the sample ballot substituting the feminine "i" where the "y" should be in Rudy on both the English and Spanish language versions. The Buzz is still awaiting word on whether absentee ballots and official ballots to be used by voters later this month at the polls have the same typo. Giuliani's first name appears correctly on the supervisor's web site.

Greer won't be happy about this.

Where's Michael Moore when stuff like this happens?

Good God, the man dressed up for a skit. I am not a Rudy supporter but the hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze me.
What happened to the real transgender person got fired because it went from a man to a woman. Weren't there cries from the left about equality and understanding?
The man dressed up in a skit. He is not a cross-dresser.
Who is the heck is the left going to use a beating bag once GWB leaves office?

11:44 AM, what are you talking about?! NOBODY on the left made ANY derogatory comments about rudy. You righties really are knee-jerk these days. Guess when you have nothing else, you have to make stuff up .

Suprise! Florida messes up the at the ballots again!! LOL

Maybe Buddy should spend a little more time on the basics of running elections, like proofreading the f'ing ballot, and less time wheeling and dealing with vendors.

Another example of Buddy Johnson's lack of attention to detail in a job that it is paramount. Will somebody please send this guy home!!!
Posted by: | January 08, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Kitty .... You mean kinda like what Mitt Romney does! I don't think he's knows his right from his left!

Who did Buddy hire to do their ballot or is it something handed over from Tally? How can someone mess up on a name when it is plastered everywhere.

Kitty:
These are a couple of comments from the Buzz. no one, heh?
I'm still trying to figure out how he had time to marry his cousin, cheat on his wife, and cross-dress his way into a closet!

I don't care who wins - Huckabee, Paul, Rudy, McCain, Obama - I just hope Mitt Romney is derailed in New Hampshire tonight and exits the race.

He who controls the elections controls the outcome, especially true when their is no paper trail.

Gay or straight Julieannie will have us all bilingual just like in NY. WAKE UP !
I am neither Lefty nor Righty, I am American and my Grandparents worked to get here legally. They were not trucked and employed in by some money motivated Traitor.
They also supported the US constitution and did not believe in invading other countries without a declaration of WAR !

I think this is valid grounds for halting the election process right now and declaring me Dictator for Life. I'm sure the Supreme Court would back us up on that. What do you think, Karl?
Karl?

01:01 PM - Would the outcome be that Rudy looses in this state as well?

To the applause of a dumbed-down republican party audience at the North Carolina debate, Rudolph Giuliani admonished Ron Paul for revealing “they attacked us on 911 because we’re over there”. It turns out Mr. Giuliani, that the FBI came to the same conclusion, BUT somehow the following was never mentioned by any of the major news networks or included in the official 911 report.
The 9-11 Commission based its assessments on testimony from experts on terrorism and the Middle East. Asked about the motivations of the 9/11 terrorists, FBI Special Agent James Fitzgerald told the commission:
"I believe they feel a sense of outrage against the United States. They identify with the Palestinian problem, they identify with people who oppose repressive regimes, and I believe they tend to focus their anger on the United States."
Mr. Giuliani, what makes you think you’re qualified to be President when you put the interests of the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee before that of American lives and treasure?

Actually, 12:37 PM, I was referring to the two posts on this thread (the only ones on here when I posted) were in NO way derogatory to Rudy, or the incorrect spelling of his name. Hence, my knee-jerk comment to 10:44 AM

We don't want him, you can have him, he's too paranoid for us!

Sorry to disappoint you 3:00 PM, but Mr. Johnson ISN'T a dem, and his position ISN'T an elected one - it's an appointment.
In fact, according to his bio on the SOE website, "Phillip E. "Buddy" Johnson was appointed the Supervisor of Elections for Hillsborough County on Jan 27, 2003, by Governor Bush."

More sour grapes for you to chew on 3:00 PM:
From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Johnson served as Republican floor leader in the Florida House of Representatives.

He's not all he's cracked up to be, he wasn't that great of a mayor. Check up on his record before thinking of him as Presidential material.
Posted by: Perry T | January 08, 2008 at 03:31 PM
Kitty, actually Buddy Johnson was originally appointed to the seat by Governor Bush due to a vacancy but the seat is a partisan elected position. Buddy ran against Rob McKenna and won the seat in 2004. He has already drawn opposition this cycle and I suspect more to come.
Posted by: | January 08, 2008 at 03:42 PM
Thanks for the clarification 3:42 PM. It's interesting that his bio doesn't indicate that he was elected in 2004 - just the blurb about being appointed by jebo. But that STILL doesn't make him a dem!

ANOTHER MISSPELLED WORD!!!
On the front section in Spanish at the end of the 2nd paragraph the word HILLSBOROUGH is misspelled!!!

Is Buddy related to Katherine Harris...or is it a 'birds of a feather' thing going on? Is Katherine's banner covering up Buddy's brain in this pix?

[BTW, best pix of Katie ever...or is that 'only' best pix...]
Oh well...the chad is not her son...

And I'm sure that in typical Buddy fashion, he'll lay the blame on one of the staffers. Never has accepted fault, never will.

Buddy Johnson is a clown. Lets hope this court jester doesn't waste another $40K by "correcting" his office's error. I wish the GOP would recruit someone to run against this incompetent boob.

With all this fuss about a misspelled word,or should I say an i instead of a y.. If we the people checked the News papers daily we would see that the St. Pete Times or the Tampa Tribune, have misspelled words all the time.. But It would not change the news for the day.. Just like a i instead of a y does not change the fact that Rudy Giulani is Running for President, and if we did not know that by now we should not even look at the sample ballot. Good luck Buddy!!When you point a finger at another co-worker it is time to take a long look at the pointer. You must have something else to hide if you need to point your finger at a fellow worker..
Remember it is called human error!! Or typo error, and that is what we are humans, and you work for us.. Good Luck Mr. Johnson for being so perfect.. Taking the blame then pointing to others!!
