Sansom's bleak budget memo
Rep. Ray Sansom, chairman of the House Policy and Budget Council, has sent out this memo as lawmakers gear up for a difficult budget year.
Sansom calls for four guiding principles: (1) reduce recurring general revenue by $2-billion; (2) avoid using non-recurring money for recurring purposes; (3) avoid additional bonding to fund initiatives; (4) explore "new and innovative ways to stimulate Florida's economy."

sounds simple enough to me
now, who is gonna put up the wall to keep folks out of fla?
who is gonna find folks who are willing to work for less, while providing essential public services -- police, fire, law enforcement of all kinds, medical/hospital, etc., etc....
who is gonna keep a lid on medical costs, if not force costs down?
who is gonna figger out a way to make up for the trilions the chimp and his enablers has wasted in vietraq?
who?
who??
and more importantly, HOW?????

Humm, how about eliminating Rubio's consultants at $10,000 a month? How about making the members pay for their heath insurance and dental insurance? How about not authorizing the members to spend a taxpayer vacation out-of-state (like the trip to Boston last year)? How about members either drive or fly commerical - like every other state employee has to do?
How about looking at some of those sales tax exemptions (sky boxes) and expanding the sales taxes to include services? If you do that you can reduce property taxes and that would most certainly stimulate the housing market? How about looking at ways to make Florida attractive to industries that pay living wages?

It takes guts to look all those bogus sales tax exemptions in the eye. Step up.

How about a HALF A BILLION dollars to subsidize a CSX RAILROAD PROJECT. In one fell swoop they could recover a QUARTER of this shortfall. But will they stop it? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am so disgusted with Republicans and their selfish silly short-term self-enrichment strategies. What has happened to the Republican party? How arrogant of them to think they can pull this off without consequence. The last time elected representatives displayed that kind of "let them eat cake" mindset they lost their seats and deservedly so. It happened to Congress in the last election and these jerks think they are immune. Well they are not, and they will find out soon enough and as far as this Republican is concerned they deserve their fate. They have betrayed their constituents, their party and have lost their conscious. Disgraceful. They should be ashamed but they are to arrogant and full of themselves for that.

Guiding Principles? So, the legislature has flocked to principles now? Interesting. Wasn't Rep. Don Brown the one that asked the Republicans to start acting like Republicans, and use some long-established guiding principles? Next thing you know... the legislature couldnt resist the temptation to divert the principles, and eat the fruit of "knowledge of good and evil." Yet, now we want to resort to principles while the guy that was touting them was persecuted. No wonder the D's are winning seats. The Republicans are learning that hipocracy is worse for the character than making unpopular decisions.

Why continue to talk about Republican principles, when there are NO Republican principles beyond getting re-elected. Say anything, do anything, just get re-elected. Then, take care of your buddies and get rich. Privatization. Crony capitalism. Government by pygmies!
Republican party's greatest asset is an ignorant electorate willing to be distracted by social issues.
