Voting 'steady,' Browning says
Secretary of State Kurt Browning says voting is steady and smooth for the most part, but there are these tales from the trail: At least one Orange County voter was turned away from the polls after a pollworker said the Democratic primary was in March and there are reports of long lines at Century Village, a large retirement community in Broward, despite an unusually short ballot.
But overall, Browning said: "I am confident that our election is good today. It's being run well by the county supervisors."
MSNBC's Kerry Sanders reports a few cases of voters in Miami showing up and finding their registrations were different than they thought. Browning said some secondhand reports of voting irregularities were checked out and dismissed as untrue. "A lot of this stuff is becoming like urban legend," Browning said.
The Buzz gets around on Election Day. Check out the sign outside Tupelo's, a nice little restaurant on the square in historic downtown Monticello (no lunch specials for independents). Click the picture to enlarge it.

I tried to vote for Obama today and at the end where you confirm your vote it showed I had voted for Hillary! I complained to the poll worker, and they had to shut down my machine and I had to use another one.

Voting is beyond steady in Miami. This is great for McCain.

I voted for Hillary today and the machine told me my car would be ready by noon.
I complained to the poll worker and he gave me a coupon for a free oil change next time.

Browning IS an urban legend!
What a sociopathic simp.

No problem here, we have optically scanned ballots---good paper trail.

4:12, I hope you reported the incident to elections officials.

4:16, I hope you take your show on the road that was damn funny. Oh yeah and I hope you reported the incident to elections officials.

Maimi-Dade is going big for John Mccain!

Yuck, I don't like McCain. He is a liberal in conservative clothing.

The Democratic election matters because the people of Florida are making it matter, with grass-roots campaigning and big Democratic turnout in Florida.
Who ever wins, they will receive hundreds of thousands of votes - that nothing to sneeze at.
PS - What else is CNN going to put on their big charts and graphs?

I just got an obvious push poll call with questions designed to bash Mitt Romney. Their was no caller id and the caller would not tell me who was conducting the call or the organization he was calling from. Browning needs to start doing his job and enforcing Florida election law. I'm tired of hearing endless choruses of "Everything is Beautiful" from the Secretary of State. By the way if and of John's or Mike's people are reading this blog, please deliver this message. Kiss my a...

Stop lying and being ridiculous...do you really a campaign is wasting resources past 5pm on election day at the off chance they can catch a voter who hasn't voted yet? Give me a break you clown.
Posted by: UF Student | January 29, 2008 at 06:53 PM
Sure. Why not? They waste resources for months. Why not up to last minute?

WhenI got the push poll call it was about 5:15pm est. This area code extends to Escambia County which is Central Standard Time. That's 4:15pm cst for the UF Student. We were still making get out the vote calls in 2000 to Panhandle Republicans for George W until 6:30pm CENTRAL STANDARD TIME. As it turned out, those calls may have made the difference. I guess that was before the UF Student's time.

Where are you hearing exit poll info?
Posted by: | January 29, 2008 at 07:13 PM
There is a big difference between GOTV calls and push polling. Real push polling is designed to spread rumors among the electorate, not ask someone to vote 2 hours before the close of the polls like GOTV calls are for.

Precisely cupcake! This was a REAL push poll. I should know the difference as I was doing gotv calls since way before you were born. These same calls have been going out all over the state for the last two days. It's the same crap the democrats used in 94 to cost Jeb the election.
