Clueless of spokesman's troubled past
He was a highly regarded Department of Children and Families spokesman with references in high places.
But the child pornography case against Al Zimmerman has revealed a past that includes charges for drunken driving and grand theft -- prompting DCF Secretary Bob Butterworth to review how the agency vets potential employees. Read more here.

Unbelievable the lack of screening. The agency I hope is working this very second to make sure no one else at DCF was not screened. It doesn't get much more embarrassing for a public agency than this. The public spokesman for goodness sake.

While in Texas he did a report on perverts in the park. Yet another member of Mark Foley's Thou doth protest too much club.

Highly regarded by whom??? Inquiring minds at DCF want to know?

The Attorney General should vet his people more carefully too. Look what he has heading his office in Fort Lauderdale.

either way, it's not Crist's fault as many in the media have tried to point out!

YOU GETS WHAT YOU PAYS FOR!!
FLORIDA, as many, if not most, states has long since decided it wants to do DCF-related stuff on the cheap.
consequently, it pays workers horribly.
it expects those same underpaid workers to do the work of two or even four people for that abysmally low
salary.
it fails to put resources in place to protect children, families and society as a whole.
SHUT UP the complaining and PAY FOR appropriate care and services!!!!
or, do the cmpassionateconservative thing:
let 'em sink like stones!!!!

I hope when he is sentenced, that they send him to the general population of the meanest prison in the Southeast. He will make a great wife!

What makes you think any of the noble souls in prison gives a flying flip what the guy did? He'll get probation. We need the beds for disorderly grannies who call cops 'brats.'

Yep, that's right anything that goes bad is Jeb's fault and anything that goes right is Crist's greatness. You folks make me sick!

Yep, exactly, love the St. Crist Times.

Is/was this guy one of Crist's BFF's? Is that why his references didn't get checked? Wow! Why don't you put Lucy on this story when she finishes with the 1st DCA?!?

This is what happens when we allow our government to be used as a means by which to serve one’s contributors and political buddies, rather than to serve the people.
The Good Ol’ Boy system is quickly turning into the Good Ol’ Perv system.
Had enough yet?

i note that today's times reports dcf has settled THREE foster-child abuse claims
indicitative of a state and culture that regards the value of childrens lives as nothing but political footballs and campaign slogans
if any of you tools whinning on this site cared one wit about children and their issues instead of this partisan krap, this wouldnt be happening
nor would the issue of vetting employees
instead, you consistently support jackasses who go on and on about the value of human life and then stiff dcf and related agencies, instead pour $$$$ into some pet road project or big-deal development that rewards only their pals
MAJOR LEAGUE HYPOCRITES!!
caring about the 'unborn' only until their ARE born, then they can go to hell!!
SOME FINE PEOPLE YOU ARE!!!!
