CNN promotes Crist's VP stock
Gov. Charlie Crist played cat-and-mouse with CNN Miami reporter John Zarrella on the subject of whether he might be John McCain's VP choice. "Possible McCain running mate," read a banner at the bottom of the screen as Crist took CNN on a walking tour of the mansion grounds -- including the solar-heated swimming pool.
"If you were asked, what would you say?" Zarrella asked Crist. "Well, I've got to continue to work hard as the governor of Florida, and I haven't been asked, so it's really kind of moot at this point." Crist and McCain were shown campaigning at a restaurant and in St. Pete. "If in some small way an endorsement here or there helps him along the way and along his journey, so be it," Crist told CNN.

Well lets see Charlie is always fliped around why should he finish this job? It would be a better pick for Obama.
Obama and Crist is more likly. The American Negro and the Greek geek.

I will not vote for a President who chooses as a running mate a person who knows not where his office is, and pimps $240 as a job well done.

Is this post from you Arlene? It would fit you perfectly you bashed Jeb on his way out and now you think your safe with McCain so you can bash Gov. Crist.

8:47: Don't you ever get tired of posting the same tired message on every single thread related to Cristi. God, get some new material.

I know Dan Quayle and believe me, Charlie Crist is no Dan Quayle. Quayle is a man of substance. If you want the full story on Charlie Crist, watch the Manchurian Candidate. The candidate bears a striking physical resemblance to CC. Has Charlie Crist been preprogrammed by aliens intent on converting Florida to a Democrat fortress? Stay tuned.

It doesn't really matter, and would not be a smart move for Crist. The GOP is not going to win this election.
Posted by: TechRider | February 28, 2008 at 09:31 AM
Wow, the first gay vice president? Charlie has been in office such a short time and has already screwed the people of Florida. Why are we listening to the Communist News Network (CNN) anyway? Why woon't Charlie meet his kid? Afraid to admitt he once slept with a woman? He has broken every promise made to floridians. He needs to be a one term Gov and just go away.

Cristi's first initiative as Veep....reverse the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy and PARTAY!!!
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 09:36 AM
I'd rather ponder an Obama/Bob Graham combination than McCain/Crist. And I voted for both McCain AND Crist.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 09:41 AM
Well, forget about the personal matters that have been in the state and national papers with Crist.
You have the special interests he sustained that gave money to him. Like most companies Crist made investigation go away while he was Atty General (Clayton Roberts running his office) Ag MCCullom is now suing for violations.
The car Industry and the 30% interest rate buy here pay here is not good for Crist. The Cash America Peter Antonacci favor in 2002 after Crist's airplane ride needed "squashing " by Peter as Chair of the Ethics Commission panel? Well, 200% interest Texas Rander company payday loans have been all over the news.
The problem might be the AG Crist office settling that Novation Tenet Health care lawsuit for $7 MILLIOn when the medicare fraud lawsuit 2 years before was BILLION DOLLAR FRAUD.
Crist happened to settle within 90 days like the NEW DOJ attys in Ca., Missouri, Tx, and Ks. in 2005. Unfortunatley, the US Congress has subpoena'd Miers and Karl Rove employees who were instrumental in terminating the OLD DOJ attys.
These states ALL had billion dollar Medicare fraud lawsuits against Novation and Tenet Health Care. Crist settled for the exact same amount as two other NEW DOJ Alberto Gonzales hired DOJ attys. Tenet Health care paid $260,000 for Jeb Bush to be on the board. And the VCOUSIN of Jeb Bush and President Bush SOLD the software to Novation and Tenet Health care that caused the BILLION dolalr overcharging (Jonathan Bush of Athenia Corp-www.tomflocco.com story in 2007)
Crist's favor and pennies to the dollar Atty General negotiations occured with over 10 different cases...I dont see the Governor being VP for McCain when the house is fighting for the testimony about fired DOJ attys with billion dollar investigations...The GOP will be swept up for this Jeb Bush relative FAVOR with the settlement Crist's office signed for.

I can't believe that the first gay governor of Florida and the first gay VP is and will be a Republican. Don't ever say again that the GOP doesn't have a big tent! Ha ha ha...
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 10:25 AM
Looks like we Floridians are going to have to get the message out to the rest of America just what calamities await them should mccaine/crist become reality.
Posted by: kitty | February 28, 2008 at 10:29 AM
The question is not "moot." It would be "moot" if McCain had already not asked him to be VP.
To be precise, the question is not "ripe" because he has not yet been asked.
Just a thought.
Posted by: Flagophile | February 28, 2008 at 10:31 AM
This combo makes perfect sense to Floridians!
Even though McCain will open the flood gates of illegal immigration – including potential terrorists, Crist won’t be able to give them directions to our state because he’s never actually been here!

"St. Pete Times Promotes Crist's VP Stock" would probably be a better heading for this thread, considering how many articles they have posted on the same subject.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 10:40 AM
Wonder how much he pays them to keep his name in news as a possible contender? It's pathetic. McCain is smarter than that.

I THINK GOVERNOR CRIST IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR VICE PRESIDENT. HE HAS HELPED FLORIDIANS ALOT SINCE IN OFFICE. THE RIGHT CHOICE, GOOD MAN.
Posted by: JIM SHOREY | February 28, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Jim,
Your enthusiasm for Chuck is great… only one problem though. You posted:
“HE HAS HELPED FLORIDIANS ALOT SINCE IN OFFICE.”
Chuck has barely been in Florida, let alone his office, since he was elected. The only person he’s helped has been himself.

Gosh, I would really love to be able to see how many of these posts are all from the same person just trying to make their hate for Crist look stronger...what pathetic people.
Posted by: UF Student | February 28, 2008 at 11:58 AM
I'm one Republican who won't be voting for McCain anyway. If Crist is his running mate, I might show up just to vote for Obama. No more pansies!
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:08 PM
They don’t come more pathetic than you, UF Student. Your ill-informed man-crush on Chuck is disturbing enough.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:18 PM
12:18,
If posting anonymously on an internet site calling people gay gets you off, then go for it.
And for any Republican's who say McCain isn't conservative enough and they aren't going to vote for him, but rather vote for Obama...you are either the dumbest people in the world, or you're just a pathetic Democrat trying to make it look like more Republicans dislike McCain.

It doesn't matter McCain more than likely won't get elected anyway. Our Governor would just be missing in action until November. Would that make a differance to Florida? I don't know, what has he done anyway?
Posted by: Curt | February 28, 2008 at 12:21 PM
So tell us, UF Student, what exactly has Charlie done for you besides keep your tuition low? Clearly you aren't spending much time in class learning or you wouldn't have so much time to play on the internet and post your ridiculous blogs...
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:26 PM
UF Student,
You couldn't define "conservative", let alone defend it.
Posted by: You're dorm mate down the hall. | February 28, 2008 at 12:26 PM
Haha, I actually think my tuition should be increased. As a graduate student, my tuition is already higher than undergrads...but it is still ridiculously cheap and if the state really wants UF to become a top 10 public school, they need additional revenue to lower the teacher student ratios. I have a lot of time on my hands because grad students here only take 9 hours a week of classes...do the math, I'm out of class a lot more than I am in class.
Posted by: UF Student | February 28, 2008 at 12:32 PM
I'm quite capable of doing the math. Why don't you get a job and contribute something to society besides your 'philosophical thoughts' that are no more than garbage. Oh, but maybe you are somehow on Charlie's payroll since you seem to jump to his defense so much...
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:41 PM
Don't worry 12:41, I'll be graduating in May and running a State House campaign. I'm sure eventually you'll hear my name and you and all your pathetic friends will insult me, but that will only mean that I'm successful...you guys seem to hate successful people on here, probably because it reminds you of how your life has gone down the toilet. And how dare anybody defend Crist...it's not like he doesn't have one of the highest approval ratings in the country. You're so out of touch with reality it's amusing.
Posted by: UF Student | February 28, 2008 at 12:46 PM
Ah, another rambling repetition from the master UF Student. Stupid is as stupid does - that would probably explain CC's high approval ratings. Or, it could be people like you conducting the polls... And since you don't know anything about me or who I am, you have no idea what I do for a living. Don't be so sure that you haven't heard of me as well.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:52 PM
Excuse us UF Student - Charlie may show one of the highest approval ratings in the country right now but anybody throughout the country that takes a look at the state of Florida and how we are doing can clearly see that the approval rating doesn't match the reality of Florida's situation. Believe it or not, there are a great deal of people out there smarter than you.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:55 PM
It always amuses me that these threads inevitably turn into chest thumping sessions.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:56 PM
Yes. The UF Student and Terminator have very big egos... In addition to the other Charlie staffers that are on here...
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 12:59 PM
you know UF student, Bill Buckley was a bright conservative writer when he was in college - reading your posts make me cringe at thought of how far from intelligent thought today's college students have wandered
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 01:09 PM
How do you people figure it would be great for Florida if THIS Gvernor became VP? He is about nothing but himself and as Governor has done nothing BUT promtote himself. That's all he would do as VP. And Florida? We'd just be that "L" shaped piece of land at the botom of the map. C'ause by them Charlie wouldn't even be living here anymore - he'd be in DC.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 01:21 PM
UF Student:
1) I agree with you here: Any "Republican" who would vote for a D because McCain isn't "conservative" enough isn't much of a Republican.
2) A piece of free advice: don't necessarily aim for a carreer in politics right off. You need real life experience first. Otherwise you wind up like Charlie Crist.
3) These posters who are on your case: Blow them off. They're just Charlie's "yes" boys and girls. They have a lot more free time than you do and use their noggin a lot less. Did I say they work for Charlie? When the Tan Man crashes and burns (on the National stage? won't be long) they will be back kissing butt for employment. Be kind. Let them do your filing.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 01:29 PM
UF Student will be running a state house campaign?
I was not aware that UF offered a master's degree in political yard signage.
Impressive...really.
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 01:31 PM
1:29 - I can assure you that I, for one, am not, nor will I ever be, one of Charlie's posters. I personally would love to see the pathetic excuse of a governor recalled.
1:31 - priceless!
Posted by: | February 28, 2008 at 01:54 PM
If McCain picks Charlie, and
If they win, and
If McCain becomes incapacitated
Then would "Don't Ask, Don't Tell apply to the Commander in Chief?
