Peterman to Endorse Rouson

State Rep. Frank Peterman, D-St. Petersburg, apparently has an opinion about who should replace him in the job: Darryl Rouson, the former local NAACP president and one-time former Republican.

Power Broker Magazine issued a media advisory for 6 p.m. Friday saying that Peterman would be endorsing Rouson at Tangerine Plaza in St. Petersburg. Peterman, who was term limited, was named Gov. Charlie Crist's new juvenile justice secretary last week. Rouson just recently switched his affiliation back to Democrat after being courted to the Republican party by Jeb Bush and Crist.

The Democratic primary for District 55 is March 25.

Part of the Barack Effect.

Part of the Bush Effect. (more to follow)

This rapid endorsement of Rouson speaks volumes about Mr. Williams.

BOOM!

Guess Ernie should have helped out more of the people who pulled out the stops for him in his last election.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of the black community splits.

Imagine My Surprise...

One Empty Suit Endorsing Another.

or better yet...

One Faux Democrat Endorsing Another...

things that make you go hmmmmmm

Who will get Mayor Baker's endorsement?

the rays

2:21 It was no empty suit that publicly challenged the SPT to walk the diversity walk, and succeeeded. I imagine your resume carries a similar accomplishment

LOL. The only empty suit is NONEOFTHEABOVE, a barely in the closet , well, let's just say he hasn't met a black leader that he likes.

ummmm... SPT has a long way to go with diversity. I think my newspaper delivery person is handicapped, though

Congratulations Republicans!

As a republican i am glad to hear the Rouson will be changing parties right after he gets elected.

Go Daryl Go!!

Well now the other shoe has dropped. Anybody care to make a wager as to how long Mr. Rouson will stay a Democrat?

No. My Resume Doesn't...

My Life Does !

As a republican I am glad to hear the Rouson did exactly what he was told to do by our Party. This should work out just as we planned. Daryl joins a long list of local Republicans who play Democrat to fool the AA community and others into thinking they have representation... and a voice.

Hell, you moronic Dems have been voting our boys and girls into office for decades around here.

The best part is when you idiots jump up and down, and claim another "D" victory... hahahahahaa... it's a freaking hoot!

Go Daryl Go!!

Word from the GOP leadership the deal for daryl to jump ship has already been set. One thing they are doing is raising him money for the primary.

Another one bought and paid for...

Rouson Endorsed

By Peterman

For House Seat

ST. PETERSBURG -- Darryl Rouson, right, a candidate for the Florida House, was Friday endorsed by State Rep. Frank Peterman who said Rouson will bring "bold and creative leadership" to the District 55 seat.

Peterman, D-St.Petersburg, 45, has served the south St. Petersburg district that covers parts of four counties for almost eight years. He is leaving to serve as the Secretary of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

"With pride and determination, compassion and courage, I have sought to make change,” said Peterman. “I know Darryl Rouson will do the same."

Rouson, 52, a lawyer and a Democrat, has been active in community and civic affairs. He is past president of the local NAACP and currently serves on the state Tax and Budget Reform Commission.

A special election will be held on March 25 for the seat that includes parts of Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota and Hillsborough counties.

Is Daryl going to bring his drugs to Tallahassee too?

What do you think Earnest Williams is going to do for the people in Tallahassee on insurance reform? He WORKS for State Farm, people!

Why are we always stuck with these dirt-bag lawyers.

Sadly, the post about Republicans in Democratic clothing is all too true.

Williams and Rousson are both previously registered Republicans and now Dems. Williams has been a complete do-nothing on the city council. He has not presented even 1 ordinance to better life for the citizens. He has taken time off his council job to lobby for the insurance industry in Tallahassee. He has traveled to foreign countries on the tax payers dollar.
Rousson has been very, very busy picking up the crumbs handed out by Rick Baker. Undoubtedly this deal was struck between Baker and Crist to promote Peterman and then Peterman endorse Rousson and Baker gets an R in a traditionally D seat, who will agree to state funding of the waterfront stadium. And the African American community gets dumped on again.

Frank, congrats on the new job, but didn't the new boss go over the wisdom or lack thereof for agency personnel to make political endorsements?
