Sen. Webster wants Gardiner to succeed him
The term-limited Winter Garden Republican is endorsing Andy Gardiner for SD 9 representing parts of Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Webster: “Andy has been an effective representative since his election to the State House in 2000, and we have worked together on many issues to help improve the lives of our constituents. Andy is a principled conservative with the experience and commitment to serve Central Floridawell. I look forward to campaigning with him in the summer and fall.”
Gardiner: “I am tremendously honored by Senator Webster’s endorsement. Attempting to describe Dan's exemplary service to the people of Floridaover the past 28 years goes beyond mere words, he has accomplished so much. From leading the rise from the backbenches of a Republican minority to serving as the Speaker of the House, to leading in the State Senate and working as Majority Leader, Dan Webster has been a principled public servant who has delivered for our region and our state.”

Can you be convicted of being a "crack head?" Is that the formal charge?

Joe Mantilla is a principled leader who will succeed Andy with honor and distinction. I can't wait to see Andy endorse Joe. Mantilla is one of the few genuine people who is in this for the right reasons.
Go Mantilla, Go!

Hey Joe, this thread is about the Senate seat, not the House seat.
I hope Karma comes in and bites you on the behind.

"After 232 years of service, I am being forced to retire as a result of term limits (although I am still hoping for a chance to go to Washington). Since no one else is running for my State Senate seat I am willing to "endorse" the only candidate, Andy Gardiner."

3:28 -- For the record, Dan Webster, as Chairman of the 2002 Senate Reapportionment Committee, chould have chosen to draw himself a district that would have allowed him two additional years in the Senate. Instead, he chose to give this extra time to other seats, including seats held by Democrats...
That being send, Gardiner is a bad choice to endorse...

This is the best Orlando has to offer??? Gardiner is nothing. He can't even generate 20 posts. What am I #11?
Gardiner is a pompous as*. Worse, he is pompous without cause. He has done nothing in the house. Name ONE piece of major legislation he ran. I said RAN, not cosponsored.

Who's running on Democratic ticket for this seat?

joe mantilla? when will Bill McCollum endorse him? Joe keeps running around saying he has the backing of the AG, but I haven't seen the proof. Could he be lying?

Name one piece of "major" legislation that has actually made things better for you. Both Webster and Gardiner know how to get things done without wearing out the "I's" on their keyboards and they are more concerned with major effects than getting major credit.
They have been responsible for steering millions of dollars to the underfunded Central Receiving Center, which puts non-criminal, mentally ill people in treatment instead of the county jail. They have been major propnents of the network of primary health care clinics in the county for the under-insured and un-insured who would otherwise be crowding emergency rooms with non-emergency problems.
There's much more for anyone that actually wants to look.
Major results, without major hype. I'll take that over so-called "major" legislation any day or the week.
