State DCF flack arrested for child porn
Al Zimmerman, spokesman for the Department of Children and Families, was arrested today on charges of producing child pornography. At least one child was in state care, officials said.
According to a news release
from Attorney General Bill McCollum's office: "Investigators determined that at least two victims between the ages of 16 and 17 were solicited by Zimmerman to perform lewd acts, which were used by Zimmerman to create child pornography. The criminal investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time."
Zimmerman was arrested in Lakeland, where his parents live, and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on eight counts of using a child in a sexual performance. Each count is punishable by up to 15 years.
The 40-year-old Zimmerman was hired at DCF in March 2005. He previously worked as a reporter for BayNews 9.

Maybe Bob Butterworth will start spending more than one day a week on the job. Even Charlie Crist spent more time at DBPR than Butterworth spends at DCF.

Instead of simply identifying him as a "state employee" - the AG should have identified him as "POLITICAL APPOINTEE - SENIOR MANAGMENT" arrested to clearly differeniate him from the typical state employee who is required to work many uncompensated ours as the least paid in the nation and quietly and compentently do the work of the state in protecting children, the handicapped, the elders, and the general public.

10:36 You are so right. He is another outstanding contribution from Lucy Hadi. Meanwhile she is tucked in at DOE, earning more than ever.

Speaking of DOE -- do you know who was just hired as director of development at the Florida Education Foundation?
Eddie Borrego.
!?!#%^!#%&*%? ... did I mention the "!?!" part?

Isn't that Todd Harris?
Posted by: | February 02, 2008 at 08:26 PM
Eddie Borrego??? What a joke that kid needs to just go away. He is needy and doesn't want to realize that no one likes him. Why would DOE do such a dumb thing? 4:51 couldn't agree with you more

Why 10:10 PM? Politics! The powers that be hire people like that as a political favor. The Political Appointees are hire tens of thousandSSSS above base and then there is no rate left to hire the people who actually do the work for anything over base. That's why ordinary state workers are the least paid in the nation, ordinary positions stay vacant for months, and ordinary position have extraordinary turnover!!!!
But who cares? Certainly not the powers that be (Charlie, Pruitt, or Rubio). Why should they care as long at they get theirs??? (Raises, trips to Boston, flying on the state jet, heated pools, trips to South America, more days spend on vacations than on the job).

This is what happens when we allow our government to be used as a means by which to serve one’s contributors and political buddies, rather than to serve the people.
The Good Ol’ Boy system is quickly turning into the Good Ol’ Perv system.
Had enough yet?
