Vice president Bill Nelson?
Asked on Political Connections on Bay News 9 yesterday whether he'd be interested in VP, Sen. Bill Nelson paused. "Well,'' he said smiling, "the conventional wisdom is the Republican has to have Florida to win the presidency. And so I'm going to do everything I can campaigning to try to help out our nominee win Florida, and that means winning the presidency."
Meanwhile, Crist was gushing over McCain to The Hill this weekend, and got a mention in the New York Times that seemed to suggest Crist is not in the top tier of choices: "...Republican governors said that Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Sanford were in the top tier of potential running mates, but that Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida and Gov. Sonny Perdue of Georgia were also contenders...."

When will Crist start running Florida rather than running for vice president?

Senator Nelson is one of the few Democratic leaders who has been right on the primary vote voiding debacle.
I've never voted for a Republican presidential candidate: not in the nine elections of my adulthood--and I'm not going to this time. I'm voting McCain not because I'm "for: him but because I'm against the Democratic candidates who told me the one thing no American should ever be told: "In this election, you don't count."
No Democratic elected official or candidate who condoned, cooperated or failed to condemn the vote voiding deserves our votes in the future. Bill Nelson is one of the few who got it right.

Bill Nelson would be a good pick but the most popular and respected Democrat in the State remains retired Governor and Senator Bob Graham.
I think he won the majority of his elections with over 60% of the vote - one against Charlie Crist - which you don't do unless you have the respect of moderates and Republicans throughout the State.
