2 ways to solve FL Dem debacle

Convnt David Broder's column today includes one proposal from former Poynter Institute chief Jim Naughton and U.S. News alum John Mashek: "Because Florida and Michigan both knowingly violated the party rules, they must be punished by having the size of their delegations cut in half. But he would let the 183 remaining delegates chosen in the disputed primaries take their seats and vote on the platform or almost any other issue -- except those that impact directly on the presidential nomination."

Broder's own idea: "When the Florida and Michigan delegates arrive in Denver, they should present their credentials to the convention and, assuming Obama leads in the results from the other primaries and caucuses, prepare to be turned down. Then they walk out, "rump" in a nearby hall and do their business, including casting mock votes for president. "

All of these alternatives offered by pundits and participants to the simple traditional practice of counting the votes?

Count them as half! Let the politician and party leader decide how you voted! Accept media coverage as a permissible alternative to actually having your vote counted! Be happy that you might influence somebody whose vote actually will count!

Yippie! I'm proud to be an American!

The legislature served notice on the national parties that business as usual was at an end: We'll no longer sit on our hands and accept being told we have to NOT matter. The national parties reacted in the worst way imaginable in a land where every voter is supposed to count.

I'm for anything that raises a stink about the voided votes, but I know any real longterm solution will come from the legislature. By 2012, no primary vote should go uncounted. By 2012, no Iowa, no New Hampshire, no South Carolina can be "preferred" over voters here.

Senator Obama gives an economy speech followed by a fundraiser at - you guessed it - one of the top 10 issuers of subprime loans in America, Credit Suisse. In fact, Senator Obama has taken more money from the top 10 loans than BOTH Senator Clinton and Senator McCain

And these people want to run the Country? Who are they to take the votes away from American Citizens? If you think Bush was bad....Imagine these fools in charge!! Don't get caught with our pants down again..right Hillary? Obama ain't much better!!

it was in the credit suisse building, you dolt. not AT credit suiss.

You have it right Dr_Dug, I don't want those hypocrites running anything. They hate America. They hate themselves.

To quote Democratic Chairman Howard Dean,

"Three words: we can do better."

Dumb idea.

A solution is to just count the official vote count.

Disenfranchise FL voters, LOSE IN NOVEMBER.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA,HAAAAAAAA,HAA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAA, HA, HA, HA, HA. Count every vote, count every vote, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAA, HA, HA, HA, HA. File another law suit why don't you., Maybe the florida supreme "court" will issue another one of their 4 - 3 decisions. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA. EHHHHHHAAAAAAA! Thank you Howard Dean. You can't buy this kind stuff.

Bring back AlGore! HAAAAAAAAAAA, HA, HA HA, HA, EEEHHH! Democrat nominees consist of a naive America hater and and pathological, ruthless lier - hmmmm, tough choice for democrats.

There isn't one reasonable candidate left to vote for in either party. Putting McCain in for a Bush third term is tantamount to condemning your children to the draft and this BS Oil crisis forever.

If the democrats had only voted for a reasonable candidate instead of the Celebrity first Woman, first Black we would be better off. Americans are brain washed by the media who are dependent on advertisers that carry the war theme.

John McCain will win this election by hook or by crook, and then we can have our revolution. This nation needs a 21st century Renaissance. We need to throw the Social Conservatives overboard and be stewards once again of our Constitution.

It will never happen 8:38, your party hates "reasonable" candidates, they get trounced by Moveon.org, George Soros, Media Matters, etc, etc, etc. Have you noticed who your party leader is? Reasonable people can't get 2% of the vote in any democrat primary. BTW - social conservatives are the only one who respect the constitution. I don't Scalia, Thomas, Alito or Roberts making up constitutional provisions out of thin air, or looking to other countries for laws to apply here, because they don't agree with the ones we have. If you want your constitution back, its people like you that need to throw themselves under the bus if you want the Constitution to actually matter any more. Most liberals don't - hence we have justices like Ginsburg, Breyer, Kennedy, Stevens and Souter
