DNC gets FL Dem appeal
DNC member Jon Ausman says the DNC Rules and Bylaws committee received his two challenges on hehalf of Florida Democrats and helpfully runs through the process: "The staff to the RBC has two weeks from 17 March 2008 to review the challenge and to make a recommendation to the Co-Chairs of the Rules and Bylaws Committee.... (more on the jump)
---Adam Smith
"Once the Co-Chairs receive the review and recommendation of staff on Monday, 31 March 2008, they may dismiss the challenge or call a RBC to hear a verbal presentation by the persons filling the challenge. I will keep you informed as this develops.
"I am cautiously optimistic that Floridawill receive, as a result of these two challenges, the following: twenty-three (23) superdelegates who have a vote; ninety-two (92) pledged delegates who have a vote; and, fifteen (15) pledged alternates. This will give Floridaa delegation of 115 delegates and 15 alternates.
"The status of the remaining 96 delegates and 16 alternates will have to be reviewed by the Democratic National Convention Credentials Committee on or after 1 July 2008. DNC Chair Howard Dean appointed twenty-two (22) persons to the Credentials Committee. The states will had another 162 persons. One of the persons Howard Dean appointed was former Florida Democratic Party Chair and former Tallahassee Mayor Scott Maddox."

Does anyone remember that Hillary Clinton signed the "pledge" that helped disenfranchise Florida voters?

Regardless of what any candidate said or did, there some of us who have fought to have Florida's delegates seated. Florida is entitled to have all 23 of its superdelegates vote (US Senator Bill Nelson, the nine members of the US House of Representatives, etc) and half of the pledged delegates.
The DNC rules state such should be the case. The positions or actions of Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are not relevant to what the rules state should be.
With respect, I am,

So, let's not vote for Clinton or Obama.

The fact that Sen. Obama is pushing a photo of Rev. Wright with Bill Clinton proves that his speech on race was empty words.

Oh, we are now all safe that Scott Maddox has been appointed by Dean. If he can do for the DNC what he did for the Florida Democratic Party, they will be broke, facing bankruptcy and facing an IRS Lean in NO TIME!!

Count Florida’s votes as votes, split Florida’s Delegates 50/50, drop Michigan’s inequitable votes completely, split Michigan’s Delegates 50/50, vote all incumbents out of office.
Problem Solved!

Ignore candidates that pledged to ignore Florida. Problem solved.

What a bunch of nonsense! What country did these people grow up in? In America votes are supposed to count. Politicians and party leaders are not supposed to get to decide which voters count.
All of this is quite disgusting... and I'm a person who's always voted for Democratic presidential candidates, whose father and mother voted for them since FDR and the Depression.
This year, I can't. It is clear that the Democratic Party is anything but democratic. Until they clean up their mess, I hold that they are only posing as having the same values as me.
