Obama campaign calls for negotations on FL, MI
Barack Obama Campaign manager David Plouffe today repeated his suggestion that splitting the delegations evenly would be fair, but called that idea " a place to start from" in terms of working out a deal. "We're hoping that more urgent negotiations will take place. We certainly would like to be party to a settlement,'' Plouffe said. "When we wrap up this nomination, if (Florida and Michigan) are unsettled, we'll settle them. But I think it will be in everybody's interest to try and settle this over the next period of weeks so that there's some certainty about the delegations' participation in Denver."
de

Why bother with elections in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky, Oregon and West Virginia.
Let's split all of the delegations 50/50 and let Idaho and Wyoming choose the Democratic nominee.

Count Florida’s votes as votes, split Florida’s Delegates 50/50, drop Michigan’s inequitable votes completely, split Michigan’s Delegates 50/50, vote all incumbents out of office.
Problem Solved!

10:38AM is right.
Count the votes. Accept the fact that Obama lost Florida badly. Accept the fact the the voters made their choice clear - Clinton for President.
WHo goes to the parties in Denver doesn't matter as much as facing the reality that Sen. Obama lost!

Democrats in Florida are Republicans in other places, hence not surprising the Obama haters. Get used to the idea, the next president will ne OBAMA, no matter what the Florida republicans and those that are part of republican wing of the democratic party in florida think. Ever wonder why Florida change dits date, it was the Republican wing of the democratic party (i.e. also kno was Flroda Democrats) that created and psuched this idea to help thier Republican Nominee in democratic clothing Clinton (The former Republican that enabled Bush's Iraq War). Perhaps these folks would be more comfortable if Obama was shining their shoes, that is their natural mindset that they are having trouble admitting to a exist in a state of denial about. The good News, America is growing past this and that mindset is thankfully dying out as they are mostly the aged. Take it with you to your grave if you wish, just leave so this world can continue to be a better place. President Obama will happen and will be great for America. You heard it here first.

10.49:
Lets play cards for fun and plastic chips if I route you can I try and get your money anyway? Your answer would be No! Thats the same as someone being well known winning a pretend election and expect it to count for real.
After Obama is the nominee, he will sit the delegates at the convention.
BTW ... Clinton has less then 10 percent chance to win the nomination, win, I mean steal.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Pretend to be a Democrat. Try as hard as you can to whip up animosity between the Democrats so that the glaring shortcomings of your own candidate will be ignored. Maybe you can hold on to the White House and your lapdog McCain will perpetrate the disasterous policy of tax cuts for the rich.
Problem Solved!
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Now… the way I see it, only two things can happen.
1. Hillary takes a VP position beside Obama, thereby creating the “Dream Team” that all Democrats really want, and the D’s win it in a landslide.
2. The Clinton minions steal it from Obama, push McBush into the White House, and turn millions of Democrats into Independents in one fell swoop.
I’ll take option “1” for the betterment of our future Alex!

11:11
why should the rich shoulder 50% of the tax burden?
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Because they're getting 80% of the tax dollars... err... pork and political paybacks.

Prior censorship is Unamerican. By preventing the lesser known candidates from campaigning, Clinton got a large unfair advantage of her years in national news as the first lady.
Edwards retained some name recognition from his vice-presidential run.
Voter suppression is -- all the dirty tricks used to get people to stay home because they think their vote won't count. That is unamerican.
In MY America, cheaters don't win. Do we want this generation of young people to give up on our dream of a nation where following the law is a shared value?
I'm tired of rich folk, famous folk, sports heroes, movie stars -- getting an unfair advantage in courts. Aren't you?
Let's set an adult example. Take our punishment for breaking rules. Like all that talk demanding our student be tested and held ACCOUNTABLE?
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 11:15 AM
Obama, and the millions of young new voters becoming aware of the process, scares the hell out of the good ol’ boy and gal incumbent structure. That’s why he’s the target.
Change isn’t just for your underwear… it’s also to rid yourself of the racing stripe inside (ie: incumbents)

11:14 is wrong. The wealthy still shoulder 50% of the tax burden, netted out after breaks.
Why does this country like to penalize those who succeed? TO make ourselves feel better?

Ok I click on "Continue Reading..." but the only extra part of the story is a mysterious "de".
Perhaps Adam Smith has lost consciousness and collapsed on his keyboard managing to hit the keys d & e with his forehead.

11:14 Good answer, but I think it falls far short of the true extent to which our govenment has been co-opted by the the rich.
They whine about every single penny that goes to help the disadvantaged, but then they expect the government to spend trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives to fund wars for their own financial gain.
They also expect the governement to turn over the rights for them to dump in our waters, discharge into the air, cut National forests, strip mine, and pave over our common areas, but they generate a huge collective howl when the people demand that they pay taxes to regulate their activities.
People like 11:13 and 11:47 are just spouting slogans - they know the answer to that question. They should pay because they're taking what rightfully belongs to all of us and using it up and turning a huge profit while doing so.

You can't count votes in contests that were never run. Obama says he'll seat the delegates and he should, but you can't reward Hillary after she agreed not to campaign in Michigan and Florida -- disenfranchising those voters until she was clear of Iowa and NH.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 12:46 PM
The only problem with Obama, pres and Hillary,vp and a democratic victory is what happens to Bill? Does that make him Speaker of the House or will they create a new power; VP Adjunct?

Gordon Fischer, the former director of the Iowa Democratic Party and co-chair for Sen. Barack Obama's efforts in the Hawkeye State writes in his blog:
In his blog, Fischer writes: B. Clinton questions Obama's patriotism. In repsonse, an Obama aide compared B. Clinton to Joe McCarthy. This is patently unfair. To McCarthy. When Joe McCarthy questioned others' patriotism, McCarthy (1) actually believed, at least aparently, the questions were genuine, and (2) he did so in order to build up, not tear down, his own party, the GOP. Bill Clinton cannot possibly seriously believe Obama is not a patriot, and cannot possibly be said to be helping -- instead he is hurting -- his own party. B. Clinton should never be forgiven. Period. This is a stain on his legacy, much worse, much deeper, than the one on Monica's blue dress."

Florida had their elections January 29th.
If Obama's camp want to settle, COUT THE RESULTS.
Obama knows he will lose Florida & Michigan in November.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:10 PM
wrong 10:38a.m.
they should not split 50-50
that is the same as disenfranching Florida's voters.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:12 PM
Seating Michigan & Florida's delegates in Denver is meaningless if you disenfranchise the will of their voters.
They will pay dearly in November if that happens. MI & FL may go red in a blowout.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:17 PM
Barrack Obama is a racist.
Jeramiah Wright + "typical white person" sunk his campaign.
He can't win in November!

January 2008 ---U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement on the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA) Amendments of 2007 (S.1200), which is currently before the Senate. Obama is an original cosponsor of the legislation.
“For more than fourteen years, Congress has failed to reauthorize the Indian Health Care Improvement Act and comprehensively modernize Native American health care services. This is unfair and unacceptable."
Here's one of those things Senator Obama is supposedly NOT DOING? He respects FIRST AMERICANS and all Americans.
FOURTEEN YEARS since decent health care was re-authorized? Gee, that means HILLARY care didn't care enough about this while Bill was Pres. and had Democratic majority?
I'll vote Obama, who respects and quietly fights for ALL OF US.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:44 PM
If Obama wins the nomination, you can bet their will be a huge percentage of Hillary backers to jump ship to John McCain.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:48 PM
I will not vote for Obama because I do not want J. Wright to ever have a chance to step foot in the White House.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 01:50 PM
I wonder what cause Obama will take up after he gets creamed in November? Kerry took up having a long face, Al Gore saved civilization as we know it, and George I took up naps.
I'm sure all the Floridian's who voted overwhelmingly for Clinton in January will forgive and forget if Obama allows their delegation to be seated after he takes the nomination (sarcasm intended). Adding to the fact that he's not even competitive in the large swing states and that there is no way moderate white middle American voters will vote for him now that they know he's a bigot, and its shaping up nicely for the Repubs.
Oh wait! I forgot. he's got the black, hippie and youth vote behind him. Too bad at least 25% of those voting block don't actually show up to vote.

I forgot to add that Bob Dole took up Viagra

1:48, Hilary is already a Republican. She was registered as one of many years. Do you think someone from wealthly and privaledge family like the Rodhams that bought their daughters entrance into Ivey league shools thinks that everyone should have that opportunity based on bariins alone? Hillary is from the elite, She is as conservative as Bush and Chaney and thats whey she endorsed the Iraq war with them. Democrats are fooling ourselves into thinking that Hillary is a democrat.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 02:39 PM
Obama's Iowa co-chair's, Gordon Fischer, decision to attack Bill and Hillary Clinton in starkly personal terms reflects gutter tactics that Senator Obama's campaign is now deploying.
This follows directly after the Obama campaign dug up Gen. McPeak to slander the Clintons.

Good luck getting those "millions of young new voters" to wake up in time or step away from the bong long enough to go to the polls and vote. They never do.

Scrape away the veneer and you will find Obama is just another politician on the make. He will not heal. He will change very little. If you want healing, if you want change, you have to do it yourself. No politician can do it for you.
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 05:45 PM
Fairness? It's not about fairness, it's about process, and the Democrats have so muddled the process of picking their candidate that fairness has been aborted like a first trimester foetus (thank you, Dr. Dean).
Posted by: Zhombre | March 24, 2008 at 06:03 PM
This whole thing is a trainwreck, but neither side is going to agree to something that is in the other side's favor. Thus, the superdelegates will decide, and McCain will win. I'm a democrat, but out of the racist, the scorned woman, and the pow, who do you think has earned the right to be president? McCain
Posted by: | March 24, 2008 at 06:44 PM
Hillary's interests are not served by agreeing to a negotiated compromise with Barack regarding the allocation of FL and MI delegates. She needs to continue to portray herself as the winner of allegedly legitimate primary elections in those states and to demand that "her" delegates be seated.
In the meantime, pro-Clinton surrogates are doing an effective job negatively defining Barack as a "racist," who is supposedly prejudiced against white people. Swift-boating only works when the opposing candidate has yet to define himself in the minds of the voters. Its success against Barack cannot be comforting to his supporters.
Posted by: zenator | March 24, 2008 at 08:32 PM
How about seating the delegates according to the will of the people? They voted on January 29th.
Posted by: | March 25, 2008 at 05:31 AM
I will write in Hillary Clinton if she is not the candidate. I saw Sen. Obama ads during the lead up to January 29 on CNN and MSNBC. I saw no ads for Sen. Clinton.
I will to vote for Hillary Clinton in November.
