Obama was for mail voting b4 he was against
The Barack Obama campaign has been aggressively bashing the prospect of a vote-by-mail do-over election in Florida, with chief strategist David Axelrod calling it a "nightmare" and assorted Obama surrogates trashing the idea across the state.
The Buzz was intrigued by SB 979, the Vote by Mail Act of 2007 which provided assistance to states implementing mail voting. Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden had three co-sponsors for the Bill: Maria Cantwell, John Kerry and, yep, Barack Obama.
Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said there's no contradiction: "No, of course not. There is a logistical concern in trying to pull off something like this so quickly."

why won't obama or hillary speak out against spitzer?
they comment on every other issue but not this one.

The Democratic party should simply buy prime time on TV and have Obama and Clinton debate and make direct presentations to the audience, who may then in the style of American Idol call one 800 number to vote for Obama and a different number to vote for Clinton. I think that's fair. And it would be entertaining too.

Barack, now we know you . . .

Ah, but Zhombre, they wouldn't have made it this far. Simon would have sent those two packing weeks ago.

It is clear that Senator Obam knows that he will lose Florida by an even greater margin if their is a re-vote.
What does Rep. Castor think of all her constituents' votes not counting?
You should ask her.

Obama aint no different than the rest of the scumbags we elect....

it took oregon 13 years to perfect this and it was run by the state, NOT THURMAN!!!! being for vote by mail doesn't mean letting the FDP slap it together in 3 weeks!!!!
Obama would win Michigan and Clinton would probably win here. do we really want to spend 50 mill for a push? and risk CNN setting up headquarters in Tally for an election challenge over disenfranchisement and signature verification?
i don't care who you support. THINK PEOPLE!!!

It's Wyden, with an e-n.

Mail-in = Major Fiasco. And now Rendell and Cornine want to raise millions in special interest $$$$ for us? What kind of favors will they owe then? Why are they so interested?
This could really be a disaster for the state party. The much better position for the FDP is to go to the credentials committee and blame the DNC for it all.
If Hillary and her camp had a clue (See Caucus Losses), they would have fought this out with the DNC last summer. But even her boy Ickes voted to not count Florida.

The vote was held the votes were counted now seat the delegates from Florida or the voting public will give you McCain.
What;s the difference....really? Whatever happens we will get Iraqi Oil. We will have a presence in the country and the region. We will have both military and mercenary ground forces backed by ships and planes. Israel will continue to exploit the Palestinians with our help, China, India and Russia will expand placing more demands on resources as our intere$t is manipulated and our dollar plunges. Healthcare needs will either force a Single Payer plan to compete globally or our jobs will continue to leave, taking Boeing with them. This will all happen no matter who takes office, so what difference does it really make if McCain, Clinton, or Obama wins? The important events are out of their control.
Sure, McCain may try to give more power to the corruption of religion, he may try to take away a womens right to choose, he may try to continue to transfer wealth to the wealthy but there will be a democratic congress so he won't get far. None of the candidates will have any money to spend, like Bush in 2001 he needed a grand event to overcome the promises he made in 2000, so he turned his head away from the threats of terrorism and for that he received an open check book.
What will the next president need to do to purge social security, housing equity, pension plans? Sell federal lands? Perhaps like the last idiot, start another war? Obama leaves iraq and bombs Pakistan? Initiates a pissing contest with Russia and or China over depleted resources or pollution or our favorite ....the human rights card...
Most of the choices that will be made by the occupant of the Oval office will be dictated to them by advisers, career people, the office is nothing more than a figurehead position on many issues, but it will take experience to know the difference. The people who advise the president influence policy to their favor, and they will want something in return. Why is Liquid Coal behind Obama? Why is Wall Street taking sides? Why would Obama sympathize with the Palestinians last year and defend Israels right to murder them now? Did he get a vote or two? maybe some money? Maybe just a good deal or a house next door?
Hillary has her own skeletons and I'm sure they're just as bad as McCain's and Obama's, the three stooges.
None of this or anything going forward makes a dimes worth of difference is we allow the DNC to remove our right to vote. Anyone who tries to remove our ability to vote is our enemy and should pay the price for their stupidity.
Give the election to the guy who can fly a plane straight and teach the DNC and the rest of the zipperheads in party politics to leave our right to vote out of their negotiations or squabbles.

Democrats. I used to think of them as the nambi pambi party. Now I see they're the wishy washy party. I was starting to consider them as an alternative to War-Hog McCain, but looking less and less like that now. Thank goodness there's always Nader to soothe my conscience.

Hillary was against counting Florida before she was for it. Oh yeah, and the congressional delegation -- Clinton suppoters -- are also against it.
