Stop tax breaks, except for gambling?

Storms_2Geller_2 Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller had just finished explaining why he opposed $500 million in budget cuts on Thursday. He said Republican leadership had focused only on cutting without looking into raising some tax revenue, like getting rid of some tax breaks. That got Sen. Ronda Storms got "fired up," she said.

The Brandon Republican pointed out that Sen. Geller had only hours earlier sponsored a bill in a finance committee to give tax breaks to slot machines.

"This morning the minority party offered the slot machine relief act," Storms said. "So put that in your peace pipe and smoke it." Listen to her speech here.

Oh, Ronda, please, put a sock in it!

Wow, she had a political thought?

Ronda, classy comment!

I am glad SOMEONE in the senate Republican party is paying attention! Geller is an overblown has-been who needs to quit turning over all of his legislation to the gambling lobby. Ronda Storms is looking out for the folks!

ronda's hot.

Ronda is hot… in that kind of way your buddy’s mom was hot. You know; when you were about 13… you’re hanging at your buddy’s house on a Saturday afternoon, his mom was doing laundry in the laundry room where the temperature was about 103-degrees… she wearing shorts and a t-shirt, no bra, her hair is up, she’s sweating, and….

… I’ll be back in a minute.

Steve Geller & Dan Gelber are democratic fatcats that support local government's drunken spending at taxpayer's expense.

Vote opposite of them on most of their bills.

The only problem with her argument is that Geller's tax rate cut would produce under the Legislature's own analysis much MORE money for the state than the current rate that was DESIGNED to limit gambling not to maximize revenues.

Now, if you want to talk about ostrich feed or skybox tickets, it would be a totally different situation.

I think they make a great couple… he sports a huge dickeydo and she wouldn’t let him near it anyway. It’s a match made in TallyTown!… like Janet and Peter.

Geller said after the State of the State speech that the way to prosperity was more taxes. It's an "investment."

Senator Geller, I would appreciate it very much if you personally would "invest" in my husband's healthcare costs. Our taxes and insurance have made it difficult to pay for his medication.

Ronda must be the one without the mustache.

Speaking of the budget.. This piece by the Florida Today takes a good investigative look at Senator Haridopolos' new high-pay professorship at UF.
