The Audacity of Nope
"When it comes to voting, Sen. Obama is turning the audacity of hope into the audacity of nope,'' Hillary Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer said on a campaign conference call.
Adviser Harold Ickes, who was among the DNC rules committee members to strip all of Florida's delegates away, continues to insist that Florida can hold a do-over primary, though almost no one in Florida agrees. The campaign brushed off any talk of negotiating a compromise to ensure Florida and Michigan get delegates seated.
"We don't see any need for that,'' Singer said of negotiating. "There's plenty of time to have re-dos."

To heck with the will of the people.
They voted against me, so, what do they know.

Sen. Obama is OK with the fact that the so called "rules" ignore the will of the people?
The rules say that super-delegates can vote for whomever they want but Sen. Obama said that rule would subvert the will of the people.
The rules say that the 1.7 million votes cast do not have to count and Sen. Obama likes that rule even if it subverts the will of the people.
Sen. Obama is very selective about his concern for the "will of the people".

Clinton is trying to "steal" the primary. When she doesnt get endorsement she has her minions character assasinate and disparage those that support others. She recently dispacthed Carvel to go to go to the media and pronounce Governor Bill Richardson must be a Judas for not supporting the Clintons. What arrogant, nasty people these Clintons have shown themsleves to be. I for one dont want to go back to a white house where oral sex defiles the oval office and then you lie to the American people like Bill Clinton did. No More Clintons!!!

Should be the audacity of dopes

Dismiss 50% of Florida's delegates...apportion the rest accordingly...play by the rules.

"Clinton did not object to the DNC stripping the states of their delegates when the decision was made last year. Some of her backers were on the committee that made the decision to do so and actively supported it."

Bill Clinton was the audacity from Hope.

The Four State Pledge all candidates signed on Aug. 28 stated:
“Whereas, the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee will strip states of 100% of their delegates and super delegates to the DNC National Convention if they violate the nomination calendar... Therefore, I ____________, Democratic Candidate for President, in honor and in accordance with DNC rules ...pledge I shall not campaign or participate in any election contest occurring in any state not already authorized by the DNC to take place in the DNC approved pre-window.”
How can you ask for delegates from a state that you pledged you "would not participate in any election contest occuring in"

Everone agrees that Sen. Obama doesn't want to solve this problem - he just want 50% of the delegate even though he lost Florida. And lost badly.
We can question Sen. Clinton's motives and she may be a little late in getting on the right side of the issues but she is willing to hear from the 1.7 million Democrats that voted.
Sen. Obama objected to a re-vote knowing that he would lose that by even more.
In Michigan, when it looked like there would be a re-vote there - Sen. Obama sent in a team of lawyers to fight democracy.
Sen. Obama doesn't want to count the original votes, he does want a re-vote - he just wants 50% of the delegates.

What is it with you Democrats and your do-overs? Don't like an outcome, keep doing it til you get it the way you want?
That's about as anti-democracy as it gets.

Barack Obama wants to steal the election - well at least 50% of the delegates.
Count the votes or we will remember in November!
Posted by: Herb | March 25, 2008 at 01:21 PM
LOL at Herb. If anyone is trying to steal, it's Hillary. Read the pledge..
Posted by: | March 25, 2008 at 01:22 PM
Hillary pledged not to participate in Florida's election.
How can you demand to count the very votes collected in an election you said you would not even participate in?

Hillary chose to ignore Florida when she signed that pledge not to campaign in the state. Now she wants the state to count? She's getting what she asked for.

Flip a coin and save the "do-over" expense. Announce the winner on tomorrow morning's news programs. Done. Badda bing.

I voted for Hillary in January and if need be I will put write her name in this November.

Count Florida’s votes as votes, split Florida’s Delegates 50/50, drop Michigan’s inequitable votes completely, split Michigan’s Delegates 50/50, vote all incumbents out of office.
Problem Solved!

Hillary's trip to Bosnia later took her to Greece and Ireland. What was Bill doing in March, 1996?

Lots of Hillary Clinton supporters will jump to John McCain instead of the controversial Barack Obama if she does not get the nomination.
The line is being drawn in the sand now.

better jump now - with or without Florida, Obama's already got it in the bag.

Cheers to your ability to not only slam Hillary, but then to also do just a lttle research to slam Slick Willie too. I knew exactly where you were going with that, but it still was even funnier when I opened the link.
Classic post.

Hillary supporters have already pledge to vote for McCain if Obama gets the nomination. Anuone see that new poll.
I guess Hillary can run again in 4 years if John McCain beats Obama in the general election.

Hillary and her supporters are more Republican than Democratic. I guess they love the Bushes too .... lies, lies, embellishments, and oh yeah, "mispoke" ... kinda like what got us into the invasion of Iraq, huh?

It appears the wackos have not yet joined these series of comments. I have read all, most are on the topic of the Florida do overs. Unfortunately it will all change in a few moments when the bigots join this page and turn it into a debate about race and gender as they do at every site

I have always believed that I will support Hillary over a Republican. But that is a position that is becoming harder and harder to maintain. She is showing that she may indeed be as opportunitistic as her critics say. Look at two recent flaps. First was the issue about drivers licenses for undocumented immigrants in New York. I maintain no position on that issue, but Hillary supported that issue until about the time the Governor nixed the idea. And now, we have Hillary fighting for the "poor deprived" florida voters. Ironically, Hillary and her advisers helped establish the party rules that invalidated the Florida primaries. And she gladly signed the same pledge with all candidates about how to treat the Florida and Michigan votes

Somethings in life you just cant change: the Sun rises from the East, fire burns, and Florida voters will screw up each year. First step is to get Florida Democrats to quit whinning and put the blame where it belongs -- their state legislators and governor. Next step is to teach them that life may not be fair but you do not get a do over each time you screw up. Finally, a civic lesson. The office of president is the most powerful office in the world and will affect the world and this country for the foreseeable future. Therefore, when you pick a person for this office, you look for the person who has shown the most vision on how to solve the multiple problems we have -- Iraq, economy, social security, medicare, schools. You do not select a candidate because you want to punish the guy who refused to let you vote twice in one election. Grow up
