Dan Berger, lobbyist and artiste
Politico features some veteran FL GOP operatives: "After they’re done making fun of him, most of B. Dan Berger’s friends envy him. “In a town full of foodies and winos, probably the best way to distinguish yourself is to take up something that none of us are actually capable of,” said pal Jason Roe, managing partner at the lobbying firm Federal Strategy Group.
"Another high-powered lobbying buddy, Ben McKay, has known 41-year-old Berger for more than 16 years.
“Dan has found a way to channel all that creativity and that Type A-plus personality into something beautiful and constructive,” said McKay, “which, quite frankly, I’m very jealous of. I think all of us are searching for a way to express ourselves.”

Let me pick up where mcKay left off in expressing myself. I don't know the guy but I know he's a lobbyist and that's all I need to know about the guy. Yes Dan, we sure will miss the way you worked behind the scenes, gutting the budget for your own personal gain while the citizens suffer. Yes Dan, we sure will miss the way corps. hired you to get laws passed to benefit them at the citizens expense. Yes Dan, you are part of the problem and as long as people like you troll the halls of Tally, us citizens will be worse off. Yes Dan, sure will miss your ability to paint things to these elected ones. Your black ink on the checks is my favorite color too! It's just too bad that I'm in the red because of cancerous lobbyists such as yourself destroying our state for the benefit of a select few entities. They're not even people you helped. Good riddence!

Roe, Berger, and McKay. Sounds a lot like the three stooges, especially them having worked for Reps. Tom Feeney and Katherine Harris. Then again, they are up in Washington, D.C as high-powered high-paid lobbyists, while most of us rot here in Tallahassee.

Mr. Lance sure is a grumpy ol' cuss. It's not like this Dan guy lobbies for guns, tobacco, or developers. The article states that he lobbies for credit unions for crissakes.

I think Donald is more right than wrong. Even though Dan works for the credit unions, they have something like a billion voters nationwide, millions in each state and district. That equates to huge money and huge votes. In turn, that is huge power. I agree with Donald, Dan isn't using that power to save the trees and bees.

so donald lance - i guess you are against the Constitutional provisions of free speech, free association, and the free ability to petition the government - because that's all lobbyists are - some are good and some are bad, but you show your complete ignorance on the Constitution when you say that they are ALL part of "the problem" (without defining what "the problem" is)

Dan, post your name if you are going to be here. I think I made it perfectly clear what the "problem" is and I don't think I need to answer you specifically. Afterall, lobbyists don't answer to anybody but the corporations that hire them.

By the way Dan, I think the motto goes of, by & for the people. Not of, by & for the corporations. Shake yourself Dan!

I'm a credit union member I'm glad there is someone like Mr. Berger looking after my credit unions interests. My credit union really has helped me out when I was in a tight spot or two at a time when the banks wouldn't give me the time of day.
BJ McKay has always made good decisions about who he works with and who he has on his team.
