Who gives a flying *#@7 what Gus thinks about baseball. I don't even care what he thinks about politics and government. All these losers who ascend to the top tier of politics because of who their daddy is makes me want to puke! Have some respect for yourself and become a funeral home director or something Gus. That's what you look like. Not a congressman!

Hey 9:04, keep up the hard work, and some day you can be somebody.
Envy will get you no ware, except bitterness because you are a failure. Now as far as the D-Rays, I agree-who cares, they are losers!!!

This is pathetic. Is this the only news that the Congressman can generate?!? Gus is a joke and anyone would be better suited to represent us in DC.

Something's not right here. I didn't see the word "Greek" or "veteran" anywhere in this story.

Mister 138th out of 136 (Dude ranks just below the rep from Guam in effectiveness) also said the new Rays seem to have a good quarterback this season and he hopes they score a whole bunch of goals.
This guy is as dumb as a rock.

Do you have a problem with Gus helping Vet's Susan? Of course you do, you hate us and everything we stand for.
Posted by: | April 03, 2008 at 08:04 AM
8:04am,
No, I wouldn't have a problem with Gus "helping" if there was actual substance in what he claims to do.
If he really wants to help, he can begin by opposing the immoral policies that have nearly destroyed our military, overwhelmed the VA system, and killed and maimed thousands of our precious soldiers.

So if he voted for withdrawal you would support him? What of the atrocities that would follow such an ill-advised decision. Are your candidates willing to accept responsibility for the sectarian bloodletting that would occur, the rampant advancement of terrorist training camps that would follow, and the return of US forces in about 10-15 years to a much worse situation?

You boy quit making fun of the waterhead.
It's not his fault he's a D-D-Deeeee!

Susan S
Soldiers become soldiers because they commit to fighting, and the possibly getting hurt or dying in the process.

12:29,
Great argument... "They asked for it, so screw 'em!"
... putz

Cong. Billirakis has been COMPLETELY ineffective in the US House of Representatives and that's why so many people are lining up to run against him. He will lose relection (and deservedly so).

Gus is a joke. Admit it.
11:58am and 12:20pm,
No one that signed on to support and defend our country thought that the civilian leadership would be so inept and stupid.
And atrocities? Give me a break. Bush and his enablers were warned that this would happen when they invaded. The blood of thousands of innocents is on the hands of anyone, including Gus, who continues to support the Iraq debacle.

Susan S,
Why have I never talked to a soldier who thinks along the same lines as you kooky liberals?
Have you ever actually talked to one? I know your kind thinks they are scum of the earth, but have you ever actually had a conversation with an American soldier?

Of course not, they only spew the lines the get from the Daily Kos in their inboxes ever morning. They are incapable of an original thought.
P.S. - Did you know Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger is no longer on the 99 cent menu at Wendy's? That has to be George Bush's fault too.

Susan Smith of the Hillsborough County Executive Committee could never mind her own business. Has anyone ever wondered why this ugly, both inside and out, woman feels she has to stick her nose into Pinellas County business? It's because she is an embarrassment to Hillsborough County and they want nothing to do with her so she comes to our side of the bay.
It's 5:00 somewhere Susan. Why don't you just go grab a bottle and talk to you yourself. Your the only that one gives a sh## about what you think.
Posted by: | April 04, 2008 at 01:20 AM
Susan Smith doesn't deserve to talk to or have the respect from any soldier. She will answer to a higher court someday for her ugly hateful remarks about anyone who doesn't vote the way she things they should. This woman needs professional help. Seriously.

this may be a blog, and everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but does anyone give any consideration about the horrible things that are said? Gus Billirakis has young sons, but old enough to know how to surf the internet. How do you think those young boys feel about the vicious and ugly things that are said about their dad. Do the people that say these ugly things have children of their own? How would you like it if people would publicly insult you personally in front of your children because you "exist". Shame on the St. Petersburg Times for promoting and printing this unnecessary and hateful behavior. THe times is turning into a rag. What's next, Jerry Springer?
And Gene Smith, shame on you, you have a son that you have follow you around. Maybe we should write him a letter and tell him what a loser father he has and a few other insults. YOu wouldn't like that would you Gene? It would be hurtful to your son, wouldn't it? Yes it would, if your son had a soul. YOu disgust me.

I remember the St. Pete Times when Nelson Pointer was alive. While I disagreed with many of his editorial policies he would never, ever ,have allowed such hateful, slanderous, annonymous personal attacks through his newspaper or the Times blog, if it would have existed back then.

Susan S,
I am the 11:58 poster and I signed on to serve, spent two years in Iraq and I can tell you that the death we have seen there will be nothing compared to what would happen if we left. Study the thousands of years of hatred between these sects and talk to the local populace, you will see we are a necessary inconvenience to them right now. Talk to people who have been there Susan.....
