Frustrated humor from Majority office

51022 Someone forwarded us this witty spoof penned by a House majority office staffer late last night: "BudLight Presents: Real Men of Genius

Today we salute you, Mr. Democratic Unnecessary Debater of Legislation.

[Mr. Democratic Unnecessary Debater of Legislation!]

Getting elected may have made you famous in your tiny district, but speaking on the House floor for hours upon hours in opposition to a bill to let kids play ball will make you infamous.

You, bastion of the filibuster, take to the floor, yelling into that microphone like a Red Sox fan at Fenway in the bottom of the ninth, projecting to everyone in attendance that you're fully prepared to waste their time and shatter their eardrums....

...[chorus: Mr. Speaker for a follow up]

Yes indeed you're smart, smart enough to ask inane questions from the staff analysis, despite the fact that you will probably end up voting for the bill anyways, master of obfuscation.

After all, you know deep down that laying down on the train tracks to stop a homeschooled kid from playing organized sports at a public school is going to put you over the top in the November elections.

[chorus: Can I get an answer to my last question]

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light and remind us once again about how you were a high school teacher, if you can get off the floor before the 2:00 am closing time.

[chorus: Somebody please kill me]

It takes guts to ask the same question that 13 other people have asked before you, but it takes even more guts to do it at 11:18pm at night.

This one's for you, Mr. Democratic Unnecessary Debater of Legislation.

Big mistake there, promoting the competition. Joe Coors and the other fascist wingnuts won't see the humor.

Bueno Alberto.

Beautiful. Everyone who had to watch laughed, and that includes many a Democrat, except the Cindy Sheehanblogophiles who now will jump in, those who have never persuaded a soul in their lives.

So, there will be no floor speeches from GOPers for the rest of session. Thank God.

Can you please send me the audio of this Mr. Martinez. lol. You know who I am, Thanks.

LMAO! That was hilarious. Mr. Speaker, I read every bill and I don't remember reading this in our bill...

In honor of Susan Bucher???

No,

The Congressional Black Caucus.

funny...

how much are taxpayers paying Mr. Martinez to spend his time doing this?

5;09 - he did it during the time Susan Bucher was wasting... errr, I mean the time she was speaking on the floor.

Ms. Bucher is elected to represent her district - that affords her the responsibility to speak publicly on issues.

Mr. Martinez was elected by noone, but is paid by everyone.

That is a monumental difference.

I am not saying it was appropriate use of work time... was simply pointing out that much of that work time is wasted listening to rants by elected officials like Bucher who ask questions over and over and over again...

But then again, the droning sound of her voice could have been stuck in his head after he got home late one night and he decided to do this instead of sleeping.

Mr. Martinez is HOT as a pistol !

I think "Mr. Democratic Unnecessary Debater of Legislation" is a composite character, not intended to be a reference to any one person.

I'm also pretty sure the whole thing was a good-humored joke.

Lighten up people, and crack open an ice cold Bud Light.

what a shock the libs can't take a joke.

An ice cold Bud Light does sound good right about now.

Brewed with the finest ingredients for a refreshingly smooth taste, Bud Light is my choice of adult refreshment.

I like the convenient 12 pack of ice cold bottled.

last vote had 7 nays and Susan Bucher pressed 3 of those buttons....

Ditto 5:31, an ice cold Bud Light sure would hit the spot.

I wouldn't mind the full-bodied taste of a Budweiser, for that matter.

I could really go for a beverage that is healthful, refreshing, nutritious, free from bacteria, fully matured and aged, will keep in any climate, and is fermented in St. Louis.

Bartender, make mine and ice cold Bud!

And HERE'S TO YOU REPIGLICAN LEADERSHIP - who joked while cutting services to the medically needy, the elderly, the mentally and physically handicapped, and the children.

Who partied hardy while cutting funding for education.

Who proclaimed their joy of giving CSX $700 million, St. Joe $12 million for a private road, while authorizing $110 for an airport for St. Joe.

Who bragged about their tax cuts that are going to double school board property taxes and their "fixing" of Citizens which is going to raise my property insurance.

Oh yes, as their Grinch-sized hearts shrink they laugh with glee as they fill the budget with Pork for their districts and tax the middle class into the working poor.

Oink, oink, oink.

Bucher: Playing the jester to constituents who think it is all about sound bites - not accomplishment.

"Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing". Eight years, not one bill passed, not one bill blocked, but good theater for her fans.

Rubios joke about Bucher putting up her mic when Troutman was cracking the whip the other day was great. And of course she couldnt take a joke.

She could have been so great, if she just had not talked quite so much, or maybe only on every third bill, or maybe 2 bills a day...just something other than every single time.
She realy does make good points, she just does it so much that nobody pays attention any more.

Well, the House could be so much more if bullying wasn't the norm. Arrogance with an eye on feathering their nests are the qualities of the Republican leadership.

This November - Remember!

6:04 & 8:39 Cheers!

8:53 - Susan, are they allowing internet access on the floor now?

9:05 Yeah, they want to be able to address your pithy comments ASAP.

That is actually pretty funny. Good job.
